I'd give ten stars if I could. This is year 4 or 5 Christopher and his team have trimmed my trees and I have yet to be anything but thrilled with their work. In addition to doing so much careful trimming by hand, and meticulously cleaning afterwards--they also cleaned up a huge mess of pulled weeds and leaves *I* had left that didn't even belong to them. Christopher is the ultimate professional: knowledgeable, communicative, kind, and it's plain that besides just being good at his work, he genuinely cares about the trees. Carlos was on time with a helper, knew the names of all the trees and bushes to be pruned down, did 14 of them in 1 day very nicely, dug up a tree stump, cleaned up really good and took debri away, all for a much reasonable smaller amount than other larger tree care company types. I have used Christopher Campbell a few times and it was always unnecessarily difficult to book anything! My most recent experience, however, was the last straw. l have a dogwood tree that has now encroached onto my neighbor's home causing multiple hazards. l emailed the office manager, Sam, to see if l could get the dogwood tree trimmed, as well as a maple tree. She explained that they would have wait until spring as it wasn't safe to trim trees this time of year. Okay, maybe not, but at minimum, l need to trim the dogwood tree branch that is a major hazard. Sam kept asking for photos which l sent her along with my availability. As l work UK hours, my schedule is a bit unusual, which she is aware of. She explained that she could book one guy at a cost of $950, and asked for availability which l had already provided multiple times. A week has gone by and l haven't heard anything from Sam. Definitely looking to work with a more professional and flexible arborist. In the meantime, l hope the hazardous branches from the dogwood tree don't shatter the glass on my neighbor's window during a storm, or catch fire. lf you have a lot of time, and want to go through an arduous, stressful experience, then by all means just try to book with Christopher Campbell and get past Sam's gate keeping. After contacting her again today, she accused me of making up the fact that tree was hazardous to my neighbor's property. Seriously? Can you really tell that from a few photos? I was then accused of canceling multiple appointments. Huh? I NEVER made an appointment! Sam would not permit it! This company is completely unprofessional. I called them to give me an estimate for the removal of three trees. I left my phone number on their office recorder. Later that day Samantha called me back from her cell phone. I wrote the number down (because I'm a professional). Anyhow, there estimator did come out and evaluated the job along with my gardner, but they never sent me the quote. Finally, after more than three weeks I called both numbers and Samantha called me back. She said that they had decided to pass on the job. I asked why she hadn't atleast the common professional courtesy of calling me to let me know. She said because she didn't have my contact information. But she did because I had left it on their office recorder and she had previously called me from her cell phone. Also, I gave her my gardner (Sal's) phone number, so she could have called him to turn down the job. This company is completely unprofessional. Samantha told me that they like the big jobs. So, apparently removing three 40 to 50 foot trees is too "small-time" for them and not worthy of there time. If I had known how unprofessional this company was I would have never contacted them. I had an appointment with Christopher Campbell and ten minutes late, I get a call from his office saying He was going to be 2 hours late. When I told them we should cancel because another tree service was on time and had already provided a proposal, they started badmouthing the other company! Incredibly unprofessional. When I told them I found it unprofessional that they gave me such late notice, they hung up on me! Even more unprofessional! I don't care how good this company might be: they are incredibly hard to reach via phone, unprofessional in keeping their appointments, and the office staff is incredibly rude. Longer review below but here's the gist: -The office staff is really responsive and easy to work with for quotes, scheduling and billing. -The field staff is hardworking, professional, and thorough. -The owner is hands on, knowledgeable, client focused and not afraid to get his hands dirty. -The price is great, especially considering the level of service. I reached out for a quote for two large princess flower trees in front of my house that had been neglected since we moved in over a year ago. The office staff got back to me same day and was able to send a quote using iPhone photos and schedule the work for 2 weeks later. I didn't know at the time but I got lucky because sometimes they can be booked out 5 weeks in advance due to demand. Now I understand why! Two guys were sent out to expertly tend to my princess flower trees. Their attention to detail and professionalism was greatly appreciated as well as the effort put in to cleaning up every last trimming and even the leaf and petal debris that had accumulated over many months. Finally these tress look healthy again! Halfway through the project the owner, Christopher, came by to check on progress. It was a lovely surprise to have the proprietor make time to quality check and introduce himself to a new (now life-long) client. Christopher is a delightful person who really knows his stuff and stands behind his work. I also had some questions about palm maintenance and large overgrowth trimming in the back yard and he agreed to take a look. His office sent me a quote later that day. For the scope of work the price was very reasonable. They came back 2 weeks later and went above and beyond to get my yard tamed. I have an awkwardly terraced yard and a lot of the needed work wasn't easy to access. Christopher came out and worked along side his employees until every last palm frond and tree branch was loaded up in a truck and driven off. My street tree is a Mulberry which I had neglected to notice how overgrown it was. The branches were below the city recommended height and were aggravating pedestrians. The team from Christopher Campbell Tree Design did a fabulous job pruning it. The magic of their pruning is that you don't especially notice it was pruned - you are just suddenly aware of how fabulous your tree looks. To add a little icing on the cake, Christopher and his team were extremely pleasant to deal with throughout the large job we asked them to undertake. Our Monterey pine is beyond massive and also very precious to our neighborhood's aesthetic. We knew that bringing on a team of capable and equally knowledgable tree specialists/arborists would be the right way to go. After meeting with several arborists, CCTD was really the clear choice. Most notably, CCTD was the only company who guaranteed that there would be a certified arborist on-site and in the tree throughout the process. Most others have the arborist give the quote and send in a separate crew to do the job. We had piece-o-mind that an arborist (Christopher) would be on-site making the decisions on how to tackle the job with every cut they made. The pruning of our tree seemed to be even more massive an undertaking in a single day than we had anticipated, but the crew handled it with no problems. They were pure professionals. Not only did they take care of the tree, they also ensured that none of our other landscaping nor our deck were harmed by the debris. Chris is very knowledgeable about trees and his staff is very professional. I have a very big Fir Tree in our yard and it has always needed special care. They did a fantastic job trimming my tree and took out two other dead trees. The crew is hard working and very polite. They checked in with me when they went to lunch and were very respectful of my property. It did take me a while to get an appointment with them and communicating with the office was some what difficult. They also did trample quite a bit of my yard which was disappointing. So ... we woke up yesterday to find a tree branch (from giant tree next door) had fallen on our new sunroom. It didn't look too bad ... but with a storm coming, we wanted it taken care of soon. Chris came by personally to check it out same day. Chris himself came over to understand what we wanted, see the tree, and provide a quick estimate which met our budget. Yep, they're good! I was very unhappy with the tree-trimming company my landlord was using and found this company because a neighbor works for them...my landlord not only hired them but is now using them on his other properties. Christopher came by and we went over everything that needed to be done. He was very thorough and adhered to the budget. He is very knowledgeable and gave me some really good tips. Christopher Campbell and his team are without comparison. Christopher is extremely knowledgeable, professional, conscientious and an all around nice person to work with. We first met Christopher in 2006 when the very large tree in our backyard was ill and ready to topple over onto our house. He diagnosed the situation and took out the tree without any damage to the adjoining structures. But Christopher is not just great at removing sick trees! We asked him to re-plant new trees and landscape the yard. Again, he and his team were so knowledgeable, a pleasure to work with and our backyard looked fantastic. I kid you not- we asked Christopher to tackle a third project. We recently moved and our new yard needed trees and landscaping.
