I can offer a very simple review. We have hired Arborist Now three times. My wife handles these matters. She says they are very neat. We have had to trim trees due to city mandate and insurance requirements. Our house is on a corner. So there is work to be done every five years or so. I'd like to comment Yelp. This social media platform is a service. it shows the value of crowdsourcing. I cannot say that of every form of social media. I belong among those with the opinion that this innovation has had mixed results in terms of influence on behavior, individual and collective. But a place where you can obtain a set of impressions, admittedly of varying quality (no self praise; I am sure some wonder about my scribblings here), about businesses you might patronize, does what is needed in a free market: it offers information for a decision about how to spend money. Save yourself a headache y'all this is a racket. The owner is a bold faced liar and his reply here is no different. His team didn't access a neighbor's yard that they needed to and lied about it. (1) The neighbor says no one went in her yard. (2) We have footage that no one went in her yard. (3) No trimming on that side of the hedge happened, and (4) the owner insisting they did wasn't. even. present. - Yet another "company" where the "owner" sells you on service his untrained team cannot execute on. This experience was bad. The owner has a nasty combative attitude right off the bat ("If you trim it it will just grow back" is a wild phrase to have on repeat when we hired him to...trim), and his "team" didn't do at all what was promised. We mainly needed a hedge trimmed on our neighbor's side. We coordinated with the neighbor to have the team enter the yard and THEY NEVER DID while LYING about it. When the time came to leave our yard and enter the neighbors' and they just...drove away instead of completing the main task of the job. The lies ranged from "we couldn't access it because we didn't have shoe covers" to "we did access it but with a small ladder" to "we trimmed the entire thing." Now how can all of those things be true? They can't. They aren't. This company lies. The lies *only stopped* when said we had footage of the workers, after our neighbor said they never were in her yard, and the hedge *is untouched* on her side. The two hedges we asked to be squared off aren't remotely squared and were barely touched. Light green growth still present everywhere. Just lazy, lying people who couldn't complete a basic task. A blind person with clippers would have done a better job and made more cuts. Shady, bad work. read more

We were able to get a same-week assessment appointment for our 60-something foot California incense cedar which was overhanging our roofline. Matt who did the assessment was knowledgable, friendly, and the estimate was very reasonable. Work was completed by Matt and Robinson within the week, and it was done quickly (less than four hours) and neatly, even though access to our backyard was through a very narrow space. Previous cabling of co-dominant stems, which had been done many years ago, was inspected, and additional cabling was installed. The tree looks really good, and the risk mitigation with the pruning and cabling is in good order for the next couple of years. read more

Arborist Now trimmed three of my trees, killing one of them because they took more than 20% of the tree when they pruned it. The tree looked bad almost immediately and began to lose its leaves. When I called Remi about it he gaslight me and said that 1) it was natural for the tree to lose its leaves, 2) someone must have poisoned my tree, 3) the tree wasn't healthy before he pruned it and as a result it wasn't doing well. Any lie he thought would stick. He tried to tell me the tree was still alive and said it could be saved with another $750 in fertilizer treatments. Which I paid for. Months later he finally confirms the tree is dead and then I hear nothing. They killed me tree, lied to me about it, said they told me things that they never did, and then walked away after fleecing me for more money. I guess I should be happy they didn't kill all three trees. Very disappointing. Now I need to find another company to remove my dead tree because I am not paying this company more money to do it. read more

I was referred to Arborist Now by my neighbor. I was in the middle of a dispute with a neighbor who was concerned re the safety of one of the structural limbs of my CA Oak Tree extending over his roof. He wanted to have it cut off. Even though the limb is extending over his property the tree is on my property. I called the company and was told an arborist would come out to assess the situation. Matt was sent out. I'd never had experience w/a certified arborist however Matt was the tree expert! His knowledge, experience, expertise in handling disputes was highly impressive! He offered an agreeable option for myself & my neighbor to install a support cable between the limbs to prevent it from falling onto his roof. My tree was saved w/o the concern of having to do any cutting that would not only weaken but ruin the integrity of the tree. Not to mention the liability it would've posed for me & my neighbor had the tree been cut & caused any damage in the foreseeable future. I called Arborist Now, left a message, and they called me back right away. A lead arborist came out to quote the job the next business day (called Friday and he came Monday) and was excellent, including giving us advice on two trees on our sidewalk strip that were out of scope for pruning, and sharing lots of knowledge and listening carefully to us on what we wanted done. He quoted us a fair price all around, and gave us a detailed quote with notes in it on exactly what we wanted done. There were a lot of nuances to our pruning request -- we wanted more light to get to our upper bedroom and the trees in back shaped a certain way for us and our neighbors to let in more light. It was a thorough conversation with an obviously knowledgeable and caring arborist. The quote was fair and clear, with each of our trees properly named and all of the specifics that we wanted written down. It was also done electronically so I could easily see it, and approve it, on my phone, and also save the PDF. All very professional and modern. On the the day of the job (not months later, but that week), our pruners arrived early and got the job done before noon. They did an absolutely excellent job, and were very pleasant and nice -- doing the job well and then thoroughly cleaning up after themselves and doing a final walk through with me at the end.
