I found Acamar Computer Services on Yelp and decided to contact Evan based on his excellent reviews. Everything I read was accurate! After explaining the urgency of my situation, Evan was able to see me that afternoon. During the consultation, I mentioned that I was prepared to hear that I needed to buy a new computer, considering I had purchased mine in 2021. However, after just a few minutes, Evan informed me that my hardware was in good condition. He only needed to address the "software bloat" to get my computer back in order. He also assured me that once this was done, I would likely have another two years before needing to worry about replacing my computer. We spoke on a Friday, and he kindly asked if I needed my computer back over the weekend or if I was okay leaving it for him to start working on it the following Monday afternoon. I chose to wait until Monday so I could finish a few more tasks. I dropped off my computer on Monday evening and picked it up the next day. Evan took the time to explain in detail everything he had done and how each change improved my computer. Evan is extremely talented, efficient, and a pleasure to work with. His pricing is very competitive and well worth every dollar spent. His primary focus is on delivering exceptional customer service, which is exactly what Acamar provides. I informed Evan that he is now part of "The Chrysalys Team" and will be my go-to IT professional for all my computer needs moving forward. I cannot recommend Acamar highly enough. Evan is a lifesaver!

    Charged me for a repaste and cleaning of my ASUS G14 laptop. The laptop came back to me still…read moreoverheating. I took it to a more savvy tech buddy of mine who upon opening it up discovered that the CPU and GPU still had the original liquid metal thermal paste. Two conclusions here, improper work, or dishonest work. In both cases very bad for the consumer.

It was a mess, and both Tier 1 and Tier 2 Apple phone support wasn't helping. Nyasha stepped in with patience, kindness, and a ton of expertise. Not only was he fantastic with customer service, but he actually solved every problem. He's clearly sharp and has a wealth of knowledge--it made all the difference. His patience and professionalism kept me calm in an extremely stressful situation. The store itself is bright, well-maintained, and full of helpful people. I've also seen some of their classes, and the instructors are fantastic and enthusiastic. After this experience, I'll definitely be choosing this particular Apple Store whenever I need anything Apple-related. Thank you Nyasha for your professionalism, courtesy and care!

    The genius techs need more training ! Brought my daughter's…read morephone to gave a battery replaced, a 2 hour process took 4 hours . They broke the back glass . Of course fixed it . No one mentioned while we were waiting why it took so long. I also brought my phone in for a battery replacement . The tech broke the internal part, they ordered a new part , when back to have it fixed . They didn't fix it and now i have a phone with lines on the screen also and connection issues . They told me they will order a phone to replace it . So now i have a phone , not all my info can be downloaded . They dis a hard reset . Compensation - comp cover . Pathetic Never bringing a phone to walnut creek again !

    We hired this company for a lighting design and low-voltage specification package for a high-end…read morecustom home project and paid approximately $5,000 upfront, expecting a complete, buildable lighting plan our electrician could follow during construction. The primary reason we hired them was for guidance on LED strip lighting systems, transformer sizing and placement, wiring diagrams, wine cellar backlighting, stair lighting, under-cabinet lighting, ceiling details, niches, and other architectural lighting features throughout the home. Despite multiple follow-ups, onsite discussions, renderings, and repeated emails, we never received complete specifications for many of the most critical items needed to move construction forward. We repeatedly had to ask basic but essential questions such as: * which LED strips to use * which transformers were compatible * where transformers should be located * what the electrician should wire for * load calculations and system divisions These were not additional requests -- this was the core service we hired them for. The most frustrating part was the lack of urgency and accountability despite construction actively progressing onsite. Instead of simplifying the project, we were left researching products ourselves, coordinating missing technical information manually, and trying to avoid delays caused by incomplete documentation. Considering the amount paid and the level of follow-up required from our side, the engagement ultimately delivered very little practical value to the project. It genuinely felt like the $5,000 fee was largely wasted. For a company operating in the luxury residential space, this level of communication, coordination, and incomplete delivery is extremely disappointing. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this company for projects where responsiveness, technical detail, and timely execution actually matter.
