The saying that you get you you pay for is certainly true. I have been using this location since they opened. Althought at this point, I am not sure why! I have had a wide variety of problems over the years. In the past they have actually lost several shirts. They have also ruined several shirts. The most recent proberlem just occured. I dropped off about 6 shirts to be laundered. Upon looking over the shirts, 2 of them were torn in the exact same place. I took them back and was called by Taylor. Her repsonse was that while it could have happen here, it was a result of wear and tear. I find it hard to beleive that on the same service 2 shirts would get destroyed at the exact same time, in the exact same place on the shirt. I also asked for the name of the owner, and was told that this information could not be shared. I think it is a terrble way to do business, not to share the owners name. I wonder what they are trying to hide. This is clearly not the way to operate a local business!! While other cleaners charge more, I would hope they they stand behind their serivices. I urge you NOT to use this store. Ruining 3 shirts in a matter of weeks is unacceptable!! This is not a customer friendly operation!!! Brought my down coat in to be laundered. They ruined my coat in their dryer and then the manager (who had pictures of the coat and a description of what happened) didn't call to discuss a resolution. Was told several times "she'll be in later today" or "she'll be in tomorrow." Nonsense. She doesn't have to be "in" to call if she already has pictures of my coat and knows what happened. read more

I spent my summer packing and unpacking my kids for their summer camps and other adventures. I was so over unpacking and laundry when 2 of them came home from camp that I looked into dropping their stuff at CD One Price Cleaners. A few friends had said they had great experiences. Dropping off laundry post camp seems to be popular among other North Shore moms because they said it would take at least 10 days to get everything back. I had a feeling my daughter wouldn't like being without her favorite clothes for a few weeks (despite not being able to fit most of her clothes in her closet) so I decided to only drop the bedding and duffel bags. I'm glad I didn't drop off the clothes because 10 days quickly turned into 3+ weeks to get everything back, which is too long imo. It was fine since it was just camp bedding, towels and duffels that i won't need until next summer. I'll likely do this again, but wouldn't do this for clothes after camp or you'll be waiting for it for awhile. They also said I would get a text message when everything was ready and I never did. So if you do drop your stuff there I wouldn't rely on texts and make sure to call to see if you're stuff is ready before driving over (since good chance it could be delayed). read more

I brought 11 shirts and a pair of pants to be cleaned. The shirts were supposed to be laundered. For some reason, one shirt was sent to dry cleaning at an extra cost of $2.59! No warning was given to that effect. When I picked my shirts up I noticed the added charge, When I asked I was told the owner instructed that shirts that are not 100% cotton should be dry cleaned. Word to the people who have surprises - CD1P never takes your clothes without giving you a receipt with the cost. If you don't want surprises then read your care labels and read your receipt. The silk jacket and pants cannot be restored, the other two jackets had to be sent to another dry cleaner for restore to original condition. I've been here many times without problems. Dry cleaning (depending on how much you have) can be costly and the price really adds up. I'm always happy when I can find more affordable dry cleaning in a convenient location. However, my impression has since changed... This place is just awful and will never get my business again. I came in to have a dress for an upcoming wedding dry cleaned. I said I needed it back within 24 hours and that was no problem. This is probably the biggest reason I like(d) CD One Price. The next morning, I get a phone call at home stating that they did a test on my dress to see if dye would transfer and they were hesitant to do the work out of fearing that black dye would bleed into the white part of my dress. I explained that the dress was not brand new, had been professionally cleaned before, and there's no reason why dye transfer should occur. I told them to hold my dress and I'd come in and inspect the situation before anything further was done. When I came in, I spoke to a woman named Pat. She brought out my dress and explained the dye transfer problem again, gave me the refunded money, and suggested that I take my dress somewhere else because they really don't do "fine garments". This was a Calvin Klein dress off the rack from Macy's. Not cheap but not exactly a hand beaded evening gown. When I got home, I hung my dress up. I figured I didn't have the time and my dress wasn't exactly dirty to the point where it was unwearable. I just wanted it nice and clean for the wedding. I planned to just wear the dress as-is. Then I noticed a black-ish brown-ish stain on the front (not there when I dropped it off) and then my dad pointed out the back of my dress. It looks like someone poured Coke or coffee all over the back of my white and black dress!! That definitely wasn't there when I brought it in!! I called Pat back at CD One Price and she could not have been more rude! She swore up and down that the stains did not occur at the dry cleaners, it was brought it that way, and they knew they were there all along. If someone spilled coffee all over a white dress, I would have noticed it and one of my family members would have noticed it. She explained to me that they did not do the damage and there was no way that coffee could have been spilled on it there, because the staff does not eat or drink while working and they don't have coffee there. If you walk into CD One Price, immediately to your right hand side is a coffee station proudly advertising Starbucks Coffee. If you think for a second, that the employees here never touch that coffee, you're probably a fool. I don't buy Pat's lame story for a second! I think the staff at this place is completely full of it and fails to take accountability for their negligence. I don't know anyone that can afford to take the risks associated with having an expensive dress damaged within 48 hours of a major event. I would never recommend this dry cleaners to anyone! Pay a couple more dollars, allow the few extra days (CD does their work on-site as opposed to sending it out) required, and get your garment back in appropriate condition! read more

Love / hate relationship here. I love the staff, the online reminders, speed, and location. What I hate is that I had a favorite jacket and a few pairs of pants that shrunk when I brought them there. I will continue to come here for my regular clothing but would not recommend them for favorite items that are extra delicate. I've been a CD One customer for over 15 years at Morton Grove, Arlington Heights and now Deerfield since they opened up. My experience at the Deerfield location has been nothing but perfect. The price is always right, my clothes are done perfectly and staff is courteous, professional and helpful. The owner Chet is usually around when I'm picking up clothing and he runs a fine operation. I work close by. I drop off my clothes in the Express Bag (so I literally hand off my laundry and walk out--highly recommend this!) by 10am and by the time I leave work my clothes are dry cleaned, pressed and ready for pickup at 5pm. I've also had rugs and comforters cleaned here (those take 1 business day) and was satisfied with that service as well. Keep up the great work! read more

I've been going to CD ONE PRICE since they opened a few years ago. Here's what I can say. - People who work there are outstanding and deliver a very high level of customer support. They are also very pleasant and nice. - Quality of Dry Cleaning and Laundry is inconsistent. - Pressing is OK in general, and awful at other times. For example, I picked up a batch of 5 shirts which were laundered, and 3 of them were pressed so badly I could not wear them, and needed to take them back to be re-pressed. Specifically, the collar, cuffs or back were not pressed evenly and had CREASES in the wrong places. Unfortunately, the issue with the pressing has gotten so bad, that I can no longer bring my clothes to CD ONE. Even more disturbing than the poor quality of work, is the apathy of the owners. Prior to writing this review, I contacted CD ONE and asked to speak with a manager, who was very polite and told me the owner would be calling me back. No call back = apathy - This place is convenient, cheap and does a poor job - I'll be locating a new dry cleaner. I understand that issues/problems/mistakes happen - however not getting a call back is not OK - IMO. read more

The pricing is very good and the staff are generally friendly as well. However the quality of work is not good at all. Dress shirts are not pressed well, buttons are frequently torn off and collar stains are never removed. The dry cleaning is even worse. Items are rarely clean, spots are still on the clothing even though they were pointed out at the time of drop off. The list of mishaps over the years goes on and on. The only reason I kept going was the price. During the pandemic they shifted to cleaning on M, W, F only which is fine. They still offered "In by 10:00, ready after 5:00". Today I arrived at 9:03 am. The owner said they could not offer same day service because they already had too many clothes to clean due to staffing shortages, which I understand. However I needed the clothes for a trip the next day. I called Osterman Dry Cleaners and they were able to clean my clothes same day. The pricing is a little more but they quality is far superior. There are many reasons why they are the best, but I will state a few: -Price as they are the most reasonable. -Customer service is outstanding. One price for dry cleaning any piece and often done by the end of the day if you bring it in the morning, but today was extra special because I start work at 7am and I know they don't open by 7am but wanted to see if anyone might be around. Cd price cleaners destroyed my new comforter which my husband spilled watermelon juice on. They burned it and put holes in it, not sure how. The comforter was new when we brought it in, free from holes and burned areas. They called me a day and half after dropping off comforter stating it was damaged and they didn't clean yet. I went in to look at it and told them to fix what they destroyed and asked for owner to call me, instead all they did was clean it and give me back a damaged comforter. I'm furious that they are denying what they destroyed. I would be very careful what you bring here because my $500 comforter is now destroyed and they won't do anything about it. Update: cd cleaners is untruthful in what actually occurred. They destroyed my comforter and refuse to admit their negligence and faulty actions. I spoke to them on the phone where they were informed to either fix what they did to the comforter or replace it. They refused. When I came into the facility to see the damage they did to the comforter, I told them to fix it and have owner call me. The owner didn't call me until a week later, after I placed the bad review and she stated she would get back to me and didn't.
