Last week I had a small accident and my insurance company referred me to C.D.E. Collision Center in Hammond, Indiana. I was extremely pleased with the service I received. The staff was very professional, friendly and accommodating. The receptionist explained the process to me, so I knew what to expect. The person who evaluated the damage to my car was very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained the damages to me, including possible additional work that may need to done. Luckily , no extra work had to be done. While my car was in the shop I received several updates and was given the approximate date the work would be completed. I brought my 2006 Lexus GS300 here a few years ago due to a drunk driver hitting my car. Long story short. They supposedly fixed the driver rear side quarter panel. The trunk was damaged and they had to remove the custom spoiler and repaint it. Well now I have no spoiler. It blew right off this morning while driving to work. Right on the bishop ford expressway. I honestly don't know were to start I have been in shock since and my vehicle was serviced March 2024 and I didn't get it back until June of the year but that is not the issue at hand. My husband dropped his truck off to get the whole right side estimated; Upon arrival when speaking with the front desk receptionist she replies in a very mannish and condescending tone my husband says. Now as he tells me this I think that he is maybe adding a bit to much or overreacting. So as we are getting are vehicle serviced I recommend a friend of the family to this CDE in hammond and he tells me something extremely similar to what my husband stated. So now I am curious and wondering if this is true. So while our truck is getting serviced I called and asked is it okay if I come & retrieve some items out of my car (connie is who I dealt with and she takes a long time to pick up the phone) . She says yes so I get there and I see a few guys walking the lot. I stopped and pulled one to the side and ask him a few questions I can't remember the kids name but he was gone literally a month after seeing him but he spilled the beans. I asked him does he feel like he works for good people. This child responded just like this "HELL NO THEY ARE RACIST AS HELL TO BLACK PEOPLE THEY DON'T LIKE MINORITY'S HERE". My mouth completely dropped. My husband is black and I am white. So as he is speaking to me in the far back he tells me how he will be gone soon! The general manager has is out for him since he is able to speak up for himself. He said the manager says he steals money for clocking in 15 minutes early and not being there but connie takes a hundreds of smoke breaks a day and barely answers the phone but thats not stealing ( confirmed why i was on hold for so long). So this kid is pouring his heart out and tells me everything the manager has done to him and others like him and when I got in my car I couldn't do nothing but cry. One thing that stuck with me he kept saying this is a "membership only". kind of spot. He said they don't want black people anywere but the bottom here and the guy they had at the time as a estimator "pat" says that he said his hands was ashy and the general manager said to him "probably because you drag them all day". This had to have been a 20+ year old telling me this. Fast forward my husband gets his truck back and I come with my car randomly just to get a estimate like a week later. I had a wonderful time talking with cindy and my estimator this time was eric but i remember that kid telling me about him as well. I saw no issues and had a well put together estimate and the conversation was good; I told my husband he kept saying "they treated you like that because they feel your they're equal your basically their sister". By the way when I came for my car estimate I looked for that kid again and couldn't find him ( he was fired! ). So why did i write this; I went to cars plus with my husband to see about a wheel alignment and I saw the CDE truck in front. I saw another black guy and I asked him the same question hows CDE and do you like were you work I am thinking about telling my son to apply as a porter because he just got out of highschool. He tells me " honestly mam I am trying to run from this racist ass place I just got hired somewhere else & will be starting soon; they fired a friend of mine earlier this year and it ain't sit right with me since". Once again my mouth completely dropped. He said the only reason he doesn't get treated as bad as the others is because he don't back talk and he's more quiet. He stated he already knew the GM was racist and he had big bills to pay so he figured just keep his mouth quiet until he finds better for himself. He stated he hated that job and everyone in the office especially cindy! Now I have mixed babies and this is heart breaking this two boys were suffering racism at a place they tried to call employment. A few friends of mine also stated as customers they felt the racist vibes and which is why they never came back! I felt as tho most people don't have time in a day to write a review on such a sensitive topic like this one. I felt so bad for those boys! and the pain in both their eyes gave me the strength to type this and get this out to the masses! If this does not get spoke or talk about it will get swept under the rug and no one will no. Please if you are of color do not bring your vehicle here. They do not respect my husband or his race and that should not be tolerated under any circumstance. I felt even more worst not believing my own husband at first and when I got the truth I felt it was only right that I speak their truth because this kind of stuff needs to end! read more

Terrible they were to repair my vehicle after an accident. Told me it would be done in 7 days. Day 7 I was told it was being painted and they would call next day to pick it up. 3 days later they called for me to pick it up and while enroute called.back and told me it was missing a part. That wouldn't be delivered for three more days. I with that kind of incompetent communication, I am nervous to drive the vehicle for fear of what else they forgot read more

A good body shop is like a good lawyer- never want it but glad you got it when you need them. These guys are great. You danger text updates and they even call to give updates. Our car came back looking great and they even detailed it. Highly recommend them. read more

HORRIBLE ESTABLISHMENT!!! The only reason I give this place one star is because I EVENTUALLY got my truck back. This place is the worst when it comes to the quality of work. After SEVERAL attempts to get my rear bumper in alignment (which was one of the major defects in the first place) the "manager" tells me he didn't see anything wrong in the first place. Anyone with two good eyes would have been able to clearly see that the bumper was shifted on one side,buffing and parking my truck in different spots when I was called to pick my truck up was there solution. The Enterprise branch they deal was also the WORST!!! They sent me on a wild goose chase to track down my belongings that where left in the rental by accident,NO ONE all of a sudden could track down the whereabouts of the car. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone nor trust them with a bicycle let alone another car of mine. read more

People who have to go here to get their cars fixed after an accident BEWARE. We were told our car would be fixed by the 21st but we got a surprise call that it was ready for pick up a week earlier. Great we thought until we had to drive it back home on the highway. We IMMEDIATELY turned around and went back to the shop because the whole left side of the back ,they changed all the parts for no reason and didn't put any insulation, no styrofoam under the back bumper, car was not aligned and the car was shaking SO badly we thought we were going to get killed trying to drive it back. My husband chewed the repairman out and told him this is not fixed at all and do you want us killed? The car was fine and mainly just needed cosmetic repairs done, not whole different parts. Really odd. We left the car there and told our insurance that we might be considering to sue this place. If you have to go here under the direction of your insurance company TAKE caution and check EVERYTHING before you pick it up. We even WARNED them to make sure to fix it properly and they still tried to scam us. Unbelievable. read more
