Don't use this business! The front office staff are very rude and disrespectful! They are not helpful and the services are very poor.

Walking into this place is like a time warp to the 70's early 80's, The building is very outdated and so is the inside. There's one receptionist out front and two swing doors (sort of out of a Western saloon) that block the inside x-ray rooms. Everyone in the office, sans the old local Japanese guy with a mullet and big Mr. T-chain on his neck with his son that looked like his twin (with a chain too!), was fresh off the boat immigrants. No problem...until I realize they all were getting chest x-rays. Ewww, they all possibly have TB. I wanted to take a shower in rubbing alcohol. After waiting one hour in that tiny god forsaken "waiting room" I go in the back and get my x-ray taken by "Neil Abercromie's brother". He even tells me taking an ankle xray, or anything else apparantly other than chest xrays is a rarity for him. What is this? The Lanakila TB Center?! Germ central. I got the heck out of there fast. Hopefully I don't die of coughing out blood soon.

Cause of a long wait the patients started to use the barhroom which so happens to be inside the xray room. When we asked what's taking so long, The radilogistl got mad and in a loud voice said that everbody keeps using the bathroom. Why is the bathroom inside the x-ray room in the first place? Definitely not recommendable.

The front staff are super friendly and the nurses & doctors are also SUPER at what they do. I believe there is also a Psychologist there. Ample parking and SAFE. Close for us people on the West side of the Island. Worth the change from the BIG VA hospital at Tripler. My doctor is so kind and compassionate that she is the, in my experience & opinion, the best the VA has to offer. Queens Medical Center, in buying this facility has done a LOT with it and there is even a coffee shop at the main entrance. Many handicap stalls and wild chickens running around to watch before your appointment. I highly recommend this hospital to anyone on the Leeward or North Shore over Wahiawa or other private hospitals. Thank you for reading this review. Mahalo nui loa my friends. ~Joey

The location was very convenient as if was just right down the road from my house. Its sad that people on the west side need to wait longer to be cared for, especially in an emergency situation where they have to travel longer to pali momi or kaiser. That much time they need to travel is that much crucial to life or death. The parking here was also good since it was an open lot and you dont have to pay for parking like the other hospitals. Hopefully someone buys this place soon because the west side is a fast growing city and it will need a main hospital.

Due to my health, I need blood work done once a month or every other month. When I was young and…read morehealthy enough to donate blood, even the blood bank needed to poke me several times before they could find my vein. For some reason, they would always say my vein moved -- like it had legs and walked away on them! I was usually in pain because the needles are not small. Even when I go to the ER, both of my arms usually end up with 4 pokes total -- 2 in each arm. They try 3 times and then call another nurse. This is the story of my small, sneaky veins. lol It is very rare for anyone to get blood from my vein on the first try. I always ask for butterfly needles. That is, until I started going to DSL. I have had several blood draws there and they have never missed. I usually get Norma, who is very professional and caring. She knows my veins are small, but she has never once missed. When I was with Kaiser, 2 nurses missed my vein, so they had to call an anesthesiologist with ultrasound equipment just to locate it. After 4 pokes, they needed to call in a specialist. lol Several times I went to DSL when I was very cold, and I know that when your body is cold, your veins are even harder to find. Even then, they never missed. I would like to recognize the technicians, especially Norma, for always getting my vein on the first try. To put it in perspective -- Kaiser hospital nurses missed 4 times and had to call an anesthesia technician to come withdraw blood and place my IV, meaning 5 needle pokes total. With Norma, it is just one poke. DSL will always be my go-to lab for blood work. This message is for upper management: without Norma and the other technicians there, I would not continue going to that DSL location. Because they do a fabulous job and only need to poke me once, I will always choose that location. Please make sure they are recognized and appreciated for their outstanding work.

If possible, I would advise going later in the day, more towards the 3-4pm slot just because the Kupuna tend to be there first thing in the morning so you may have to wait a while. If it is busy, don't forget to pull a number and just chill outside if you can't find a seat, but pay attention to the sign so you don't miss your turn. Phlebotomist are very thorough with your information and always double or triple checks the reason for your visit. Drawing blood has always been less than a 5min visit. They are close on Sundays so if fasting, keep that in mind :)
