Always my favorite urgent care to go to. I am always afraid to be judged when it comes to my concerns about my health due to my raging anxiety. But when I'm in here, I never feel judged. The front desk, Rachel, and the NP, Brindy, have been so attending and understanding! I have luckily came my last two times when it was not so busy, but I trust that they are efficient in managing the flow of patients. I don't think I would go anywhere else! If I could give it zero stars, I would. I was checked in 10:30 am. Didn't leave until 12:45 almost 1pm. Staff was very rude except for the lady that checked my blood pressure and weight. The Filipino lady that swabbed my nose for Covid and the Flu was definitely impatient. When I told her I had to blow nose since I had the flu. She had reply "I don't have all day." Clearly you guys have plenty of time since I was only the third person there. I literally sat in a room for nearly 2 hours just to get my test results. Dr Jose Almeida prescribed me Tamiflu for my flu and I ended up getting a rash and almost being sent to the ER. For taking such medication. I didn't think I would have a bad reaction to it. So I called them back the next day. Dr Jose wasn't in and another doctor had taken his place. The replacement doctor told me I was probably "dehydrated" from the medicine that I have taken. In no way I was dehydrated. Especially when the medication made me feel like I was having a heart attack. Either way, my story wasn't getting across their heads. He simply just told me "you probably just need some rest." If you want to waste 2 hours of your time. And end up spending more money on medications, than I wouldn't recommend coming to this place at all. read more

Judging from the crowded waiting room and the steady flow of patients coming and going, it was a hectic day for the clinic personnel. Nevertheless, I was greeted promptly and courteously walked through the necessary paperwork. My wait was rewarded by a very personable professional who efficiently examined my injury and promptly explained her treatment plan. She skillfully administered the numbing shot and remedied my injury. She arranged for my antibiotics, patiently explained what I needed to do to follow-up my treatment and what I needed to be mindful of if my condition worsened. I appreciated the quality of service despite how busy they were. It's been a long time since I've been here, I came right when they opened up at 8:30 AM, and was second person in line. The front staff was nice and ask if I came here before and I said "years ago ". Lol so I gave my information with ID and insurance card. Then wait about 15 min to get called in and the lady was nice as asking me question . Like what am I here for, I said eye infection. Then got into another room right after. Met a nice nurse practitioner, Brindy. She evaluate my eyes and ask questions . Then tells me what she will prescribe. So she will send my prescription over to the pharmacy. She's super nice and very professional. This totally made my day. Will be coming back if needed. read more

This is the only urgent care I go to. I only go here when I have a gout flare up because it's the only place that gives me the 2 shots. A pain killer and steroid. I've had bad experiences in the past where I go in at opening just to wait hours because the doctor was running late but because they're the only urgent care I've been to that gives me the shots, I keep finding myself going back to them. I've never had issues with the staff as a whole. The nurses and everyone at the front desk always helps me right away and I get seen and taken care of as soon as possible. Only few times I would wait hours because of different reasons like the doctor running late. Like I said, this is the only urgent care I keep going back to but I have reasons for it. Been here three times, I never waited for more than 20 min to be seen on a weekday afternoon (3-4pm) even with all my kids being seen at once. There's usually about 3 individuals ahead of me when I sign in. Registration is easy, just a few forms for new patients. They take QUEST and is a part of the Queen's health network. Staff is wonderful, caring, supportive, from the medical assistants to the nurse practitioner and to the main doctor. Highly recommend! read more

If its busy just go somewhere else. I was waiting almost 2 hours before being called in by the nurse. Then they had me give a urine sample and left me in the room for another hour. When i asked what was going on the lady said they were waiting for my test results. Would've been nice to get a heads up letting me know the wait time. This place is an absolute hustle! I went in for a staph test. The doctor told me my voice sounded horse so he told me he'd give me a Covid test "because it's required"and and flu test on top of that. Both swaps costing me over $150 I came in for my foot for the record, which I left with a prescription for antibiotics . My insurance is through HMSA And barley anything swap wise was covered. Friendly staff & Quick service. We always come here whenever we need to be seen by a doctor since our PCP closes at 4PM and is sometimes hard to get an appointment with. The wait time is only less than 15 minutes to get into a room and then 20 minutes for test results (COVID, flu, strep). Once the results come in, they ask if we need a doctors note and prescribe medicine, then send us out on our way. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Convenience of location - it's in my neighborhood. Office and care experience: the doctor wasn't present when they opened for business, running late is the excuse. Obviouly it is not setup for a smooth, flowing healthcare treatment practice. Does this business care or is it just taking advantage of people. At least with ER we know what to expect. I though this would better. Staff was good on taking in patients but 2nd one in line today and waited over 1 hour from opening time for doctor. I've been to this Urgent Care several times & I usually have a pleasant experience. Tonight I rushed there because my son has a potential ear infection. I call to listen to the recording to see what time they take their last registration. The phone recording says 6:30 pm. I get there right at 6:30 pm & the door is locked. The male receptionist comes to the door & says that they're closed. I tell him that the phone recording says otherwise. He said, "yeah it just hasn't been updated. We're closed." Quick easy check in..one page process..provide your ID and insuraunce. Less than 10 mins I was put into the exam room. Now the fun begins.. Dr. Almeida requested irrigation. Nurse Elizabeth Cooke..kept flushing...then a softener was put in my ear. 15 mins later..more irrigation...it was super painful. Dr. Almeida decided to scoop it out with his ear tools. Definitely do not recommend coming to this urgent care. Waited in the waiting room for over an hour. Told them I wanted to get a test for the flu. Took Me&my son in a room @11am, they swabbed my nose and they said it would take 20minutes for the test results to come back, and it took over an hour to get the results back. I was referred here by my moms foster care giver when my mom fell in foster. She fell twice in a week and it was was necessary to see a dr as both eyes were now black and purple. This just happened about a month ago - Aug 2020 during the covid pandemic. Masks and hand sanitizing were required while entering the office. Chairs were set up theater style with every other seat blocked. My mom and I were the only people in the office. Like some of the reviews, some of the staff is not friendly. The exam rooms are small, especially for disabled patients with walker. Dr Ganapathy examined my mom, I found him not very friendly at all, mom did a EKG. Dr wanted a CT scan on moms head. Due to insurance, mom ended up going to the ER and ended staying in the hospital. So, good lesson learned. After the wait in urgent care, next time just go ER. read more

I wish I jumped on the Urgent Care bandwagon sooner. 2017 was a freak year for me - with SIX cases of bronchitis in one year, plus a toe injury requiring the removal of my entire toenail (ouch, right?). I couldn't afford to wait to see my PCP, so I "caved" and made a visit to this location, the closest to my home. Kunia Urgent Care took great care of me then, and continues to do so. Dr. Almeida and Dr. Ganapathy have always been professional, kind, and thorough in their assessments with me. Sure, some visits had some waiting...but those were days it was busy with every seat filled in the lobby and rooms. A few times I've been lucky with no waiting, like today! (12/23/19) The receptionists are for the most part, kind as well. Sure, there were a handful of times one of them has seemed mad or a tiny bit rude, but when everyone is hacking and people are already complaining, I feel for them too. I had a minor problem with my ear. Right when I walked in, front desk lady just looked at me in the eye as if I should start the conversation. I was waiting in the waiting room for some time and then got called inside a room, which I waited even longer just for the NP to redirect me to the ER, or an option to do the procedure. I did not understand why she would consider this "procedure" (not saying, for privacy measures) when it wasn't necessary. Be careful of surprise bills! Came to this place because my primary care physician had no openings for a few weeks out. I provided my insurance card and paid the co-pay before being seen. I came in for an allergic reaction and also had congestion (sinus allergies) - because I was congested they told me they had to do 3 swab test- Covid test, Flu, & Strep throat. Thinking it was protocol, I just went with it. After waiting 20 minutes for the results, all came back negative of course, (because I came in for allergies, hello!) What they don't tell you is that they will bill you $160 for the Flu test, $160 for the Covid test & $70 for the Strep test, and they don't mention that your insurance may not cover it! If I had known that, I would have declined the tests! Especially since I was coming in for a completely different issue. Unfortunately I received my bill, and my insurance only covered $83 of the $390 total of swab tests. With an additional $45 that I had to pay for being a new patient, I'm stuck with a $350 bill! And this was all just for going in for allergies. Let's not forget the $30 copay I had already paid at time of visit. Be careful when coming here! read more

From eye infections to mean chest coughs and a bad boil removal on my neck, Kunia Urgent Care has taken great care of me for the situations I needed care for over the years. I found it always best to get there before they open. The nurse will give everyone a clip board to fill out whether you are new or returning, provide your ID and med card, get vitals checked then you'll be sent to your room. What I mostly appreciate Kunia Urgent Care is the genuine care that I receive from all the staff. The nurses and doctors are friendly and professional and are patient to allow me to ask any questions and they are very well knowledgeable to answer. I ran the doorbell & waited 10 mins while the receptionist sat there. Had no idea I was supposed to walk-in, until another patient came & said "she'll walk in for us". If you're coming, might as well ignore the sign. "DO NOT ENTER. RING DOORBELL". cause no one is coming for you LOL. fill out a form that's on the table. they also don't follow the rules that's on their automative answering machine. Now I have a bill for $255 and there's no breakdown of the charges. It's just a bill with the total but no explanation of charges. We have insurance and this is ridiculous. You'd be better off reading WebMD. I went here back in January and walked away with NO medical treatment or advice. This is NOT a medical facility. I was uncomfortable from start to finish, while I was there I was being examined and indecent when the door opened to the exam room with no knock! They sent me away with no testing, no prescription or diagnosis. I got sent a bill for several hundred dollars, to which I tried to be reasonable with them to drop it or at least lower it, or see me again to do some testing since I was still having the same concern.. But each time I was told "I'll talk to my supervisor and get back to you" and never received a call back regarding the matter. This happened at least twice. Over a span of 6 months. They turned me into collections! I have insurance that paid a small portion. I believe they never had any intention to work things out with me. I went to a different doctor in the mainland to get tests done and a diagnosis with a prescription. Humans tend to know when we are not healthy, which is why I sought treatment here but unfortunately they failed me and it cost me more than they deserve! I did a walk in. Asked for a rapid covid test. I received papers which was never given to my fiancé and son. Place was quiet. They have a big screen tv. The guy who took my bp and info was cool. But the lady who did my flu and covid rapid had no mercy. I've never felt 4 jabs up my nostrils like that. Now I have a headache and I'm literally in the room waiting to see what the results are. Sometimes my regular doctor or my family members doctor was off that day or they were closed. So we head on over to Kunia Urgent Care. Ailments that this facility has helped me out with: *I have visited this facility for a SPRAINED ANKLE. -They have an x-ray and they were able to determine that it was a sprained ankle and not a broken bone. They were able to give me a dvd of my xrays that day. * I have seen them when I had the FLU. - At this facility they are able to run a test to see if you have the flu. Be prepared for this test. Even when you stand right in front of them at the front desk, apparently their peripheral vision is soooo bad , they can't see you lol. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've been here and the customer service is still the same. The only reason why I return to this location is due to the short wait time I usually experience. One Sunday night four months ago, I had a sore throat that I thought might be step throat. It was past 7 p.m. and I really wanted to see someone for it. Strep is contagious and I didn't want to spread it around. I didn't want to wait until the next day to see if my regular doctor could see me. My sister looked online and Kunia Urgent Care was really my only option if I didn't want to go to an emergency room. We called and they were still open. This place is about a 20 minute drive from where I live. I checked in quickly and saw a healthcare provider within about 15 minutes. He did a throat swab and about 15 minutes later, told me it was positive for strep. They were out of an antibiotic shot so I got a prescription that I picked up 15 minutes later at Longs/CVS. I started taking the antibiotics and went back to work a couple of days later. I've rarely used urgent care clinics since I have a regular doctor and haven't had many acute medical problems.
