I made sure to never make appointments during busy times because I'm disabled. The first time I was disrespected by Maria was in February of 2026 on a Saturday where she didn't even acknowledge me waiting for a haircut for almost two hours. She never came by to say I'm so sorry I'm running late. She's extremely rude, and passive aggressive. I gave them a second chance because the owner was apologetic. This time around I was waiting patiently and had to leave because I had a prior engagement. I didn't expect to be waiting an hour after my last experience. Maria lacks professionalism and respecting a client's time. These are basic standards in any service industry. Sorry but I am not going back. I would recommend that people who value their time or cannot sit for prolonged periods spend their money elsewhere.

It's big and well-established - They seem equipped to do a huge range of things for women, above and beyond the other places. Fluent English speakers - I know it's the Bronx, but three places I'd visited nearby struggled to answer me when asking "can you give me a haircut?". Seemed like decent salons, but made me worried about how I'd further convey the "no buzz cut" concept :) 4. Surprisingly good price - $15 for a haircut. 5. Good haircut - My wife approved and liked it. They didn't scalp me or get scissor-happy or anything, I thought it was a good haircut too. Completely unorganized and unprofessional. I made an appointment in August for September 8th. She…read moredidn't contact me regarding it until the 7th at 12 in the morning. She said she would be out of town that day even though she had a good 2-3 weeks to tell me that. Not the day right before the appointment. We both agreed to change the appointment to Wednesday instead. But later on she texts me again and tells me she will need a specific brand of hair. It was getting really frustrating because she would only contact you with information at 11PM -1AM. So everything was very last minute. I asked her if there were any beauty supply stores that sell that specific brand near her salon and she still didn't respond so I asked to reschedule. I'm not from the city so I don't know the area well enough to know if there are any beauty supply stores by her who sell that brand. She rudely texted me back saying "hun.... there are beauty supply stores in Harlem." Yes, I am aware of that but I don't know if any of them are going to carry this specific brand of hair. The beauty supply stores in my area didn't carry it and since we're in the middle of a pandemic I don't want to go around too many places searching. Either way I decided it would be best to reschedule, that way I could just buy the hair online and go when I'm more prepared instead of being rushed. Once I told her this she got super mad. She was pissed that I was trying to reschedule and said that she doesn't have to save my spot if I cancel (when as you can see from her text I didn't cancel she asked to reschedule). She wrote a long paragraph in all caps stating all the reasons why she was mad. Then she said bc she doesn't charge a fee for the appointment that I shouldn't care if it's canceled/changed bc spots can't be saved. Which is just completely inconsiderate of other ppls time. If that's the case why even make appointments at all if my spot isn't garenteed? Then she banned me from the store because I said we will have to either reschedule or just cancel the appointment. The bad reviews that she has on yelp about her unprofessional behavior is obviously very accurate. What kind of business owner acts this way especially when they are the one that caused the inconvenience in the first place? I think she would benefit more from listened to the advice from her customers on here and improving customer service rather than just retorting back in anger. I feel like I dodged a bullet and I'm glad I didn't support her establishment.
