She's incredibly responsive even during lunch hours or after work hours. She has always been extremely clear about what exactly she's charging for. Dr. Ju is awesome! I was nervous when I went in but she is so friendly and tried to comfort me by chatting. I had tooth decay which causes such a big hole in my tooth, and it was serious that I was suffered from pain for almost a year! I first took a X-ray, then I was told to do root canal therapy. Because my tooth was too bad, the whole process becomes time-consuming. It takes almost 2 hours to finish the therapy, and follow up will be the refill of my tooth (I don't know what the word is, but it is kind of like put a fake one on top of my tooth because of it is such a big hole). Dr. Ju is a wonderful dentist! She has many years of experience. I always go to her for any dental needs. She's very friendly and is always full of energy. Because of this, I always feel comfortable and welcome when I'm seeing Dr. Ju. However, if you prefer a quiet, boring dentist then I wouldn't recommend Dr. Ju :P. Her work is quick and thorough. I can almost always come in for an appointment and leave within 30 minutes. As for all the reviewers saying Dr. Ju is only in it for the money, that is far from the truth. HORRIBLE DENTISTRY!!! This is just based off my experience on the phone with these people. Poor communication on the phone. I called 13 times just to cancel my appointment. There is no voicemail, so I had to resort to emailing the place. Of course no response to my email, so I try calling from work. Finally got through, poor answering skills, was asked what I wanted. I told her I needed to cancel my appointment, to which the woman on the phone said what time. I said I have an appointment for June 14th. She interrupts me and says okay then hangs up. I've been to several dentists before, where they would ask me to do unnecessary fillings and use bad materials, but she won't - she will tell you what is really necessary for you to fix on and what isn't. She's very straightforward, and is quick on doing her work. I can easily walk out within 30min for a filling for a huge cavity. Also insurance friendly on helping you figure out the best rate you could obtain and super helpful on referring for other doctors (I.e. invaslign). I shouldn't have trusted the 5-star ratings from accounts with only a few reviews. I helped my parents choose this dentist for their teeth cleaning since they wanted a Chinese dentist in the Millbrae area that participated in their Costco/Delta Dental plan. The teeth cleaning ended up only taking around ten minutes! It was quick and rough. My dad was seated, and she quickly reclined his chair jolting him backwards and uncomfortably too far back. My dad has sensitive gums yet she never asked him about his dental history. Actually she never spoke. The whole process was painful; she prodded his gums with her tools and put a lot of pressure on his gums with her mirror until he flinched. She also got water on his shirt. My mom had a similar experience. If you want a caring dentist who treats you like you're human, you might want to look elsewhere. read more

It's 9 a.m.. I have a toothache and a presentation to give the next day. It's no ordinary toothache - no amount of ibuprofen or sleep can make this throbbing pain disappear. By 9:30 a.m. I am in the car with my mom, whimpering away while she takes me to "this lady" she "knows" who can "fix" my problem. "Don't worry about it, she's a nice lady." I'm feeling worse by the minute. By 10 a.m. I am in the dentists chair, lights dead on my set of ivories. Cecilia scans away with her metal-proddy-poking device whilst scolding me for not taking care of my teeth. I get it Cecilia, I fucked up. By 10:30 a.m. I am screaming, howling in pain and asking when it's going to end. Every time she changed tools, pulled out that deadly syringe, or even moved her hand I would ask when she would stop hurting me. I was annoying and she found it delightful. Things are starting to look up. 11 a.m. and I've made a new friend. She's got photos of all her clients' puppies, many of whom she's developed personal relationships with (the clients, not the pupsters). She is showing me my x-rays, explaining to me what these photos tell her. She asks me about my research and if we still use the same tools she used to use when she worked in a research lab. What a delightful lady. My temporary filling has broken since then but it's nothing a short revisit can't fix. I'm still waiting for my crown but I suppose that will be in a few more days. She is generous on the novocain (just say it hurts and she'll inject away) and is attentive to any amount of cringing and painful looks you may give her. Fastest dentist ever! Dr Ju came highly recommended by my co-worker when I was looking for a dentist close to my job. I've been coming here for close to 3 years and had cleanings done through to crowns. Dr Ju has done all of it with skill and speed. Quick summary: * she speaks Mandarin and English * always punctual. I've never even waiting 5 minutes to get started * assisted with navigating my insurance * corrected bad dental work from my old dentist * in-and-out in my lunch hour * plenty of parking right in front I came to Dr Ju with dental issues cause by my last dentist. She researched my insurance and wrote a justification to have new crowns put in to replace the bad ones. Usually you can't get new crowns within 5 years of the previous crown installation. The new ones are awesome. Due to the bad crowns my bite had changed and was going from bad to worse. She recommended that I get braces and referred me to another orthodontic specialist. They have been great too. I'm a busy working mom so I usually do my appointments during my lunch hour. I really appreciate that she has been punctual for all my appointments and I don't think I've even had to sit in her waiting chairs. Park car, walk in, straight into dentist chair and walk back out to car. After filling forms the first time I've never had to fill anything out again. She handles all the insurance forms. My last dentist had a dedicated dental hygienist. She would take 30 minutes to slowly clean my teeth. Dr Ju performs the teeth cleaning and does it very quickly. If you prefer something slow you won't get that here. I don't mind since I can get the teeth cleaning done and still have time to run an errand before going back to work. My only points for improvement is there is no answering machine so you can't leave a message if no one picks up. Totally recommend Dr Ju and her team. read more
