Sadly our quest for the best coffeehouse around Coupeville still continues...Cedar and Salt was not it for me. We ordered a caramel macchiato with an added espresso shot. Way too sweet and so much creamy froth on top. The cinnamon roll was decent. A little dry and had a little cinnamon flavor. The iced vanilla latte with oat milk was actually 5tho! The barista brought our order to the table which was an unexpected nicety. The interior was spacious with art on the walls for purchase, communal board games & puzzles, Cedar and Salt merch, and an ice cream bar. Really good gelato! I am giving a 4 because I strictly wanted ice cream on 6:15pm on a Saturday and I think they were one of the few places still opened. Plenty of parking available and there were only a few people inside. read more

Gave this place 3 shots and fell short each time. The first two times the water to coffee ratio was completely off. Essentially, it tasted like very watered down coffee. The third time I went the coffee was better but kept in the self serve and was nearly out. I requested a fresh cup and was told to just use what was left in the self serve which was about half a cup of lukewarm coffee. The food is mediocre at best and the cinnamon roll is overly sweet and dry. The ambiance feels like a cafeteria or retirement home than a cozy coffeehouse. It does seem popular amongst the older retirees that live in the area but I gave it my 3 strikes. read more

I was early for an appointment and decided to stop in Cedar & Salt for a little bite to eat and some coffee. I decided on a Buffalo chicken panini, a GIANT brownie, and a 16oz drip coffee. There were three options for the panini (roast beef, Buffalo chicken, and tuna melt). They also offered biscuits and gravy, scones, breakfast sandwiches (including breakfast burritos), and GIANT cookies. I was very happy with my panini. It was deliciously crisp, and the Buffalo sauce was flavorful and tangy. I didn't try the brownie because I'm saving it for later . The coffee was nice. It wasn't too strong nor too weak. It was at a strength that I enjoyed drinking. This is a nice area to rest and enjoy a bite to eat and a coffee with family and friends. There are high chairs available for use at the tables. There are also a few large tables that could seat 6 or 8 people in addition to the many 2-person tables pictured in my photos. There even four comfy chairs. Gelato was great. Broccoli & Cheese soup was terrible... All stems and watery cheese. Prices are crazy high so I hope they pay those baristas super high cz I sure as heck aint paying a tip on $3 bottle of walmart water. Pastries were good but not worth the price. Cedar and Salt seems like a place that's trying, but I respectfully submit that it needs to try harder. The coffee drink I ordered was not very flavorful, and the barista charged me for two drinks because I asked for a few ounces of drip on top of my Americano order (the great majority of places just charge for the espresso drink). That was obviously not personal, but it did turn me away from any repeat visits. The space and seating are nice enough, but not enough to make up for the above issues. Sorry, guys. read more

In a world of overpriced menus, their $5 avocado toast made me so happy! The amazing staff was patient when I asked what was in their breakfast burrito. They were patient when I was indecisive of my drink of choice. And they were patient but firm when a customer appeared to be causing trouble. As it turned out, they had a few options for breakfast burrito and my husband was excited as soon as they said 'tofu and black bean' for their vegan option. It was served piping hot, with a side of salsa. The best part was actually the country potatoes which were surprisingly well-seasoned. Compliments to the chef, indeed! Praises to the cashier also who firmly told a customer to refrain from harassing her staff member. She was forceful but respectful. Cedar & Salt Coffeehouse has been highly anticipated in the community! They have a decent selection of baked goods, and are very speedy with getting food out! Good seating for relaxing or catching up with a friend. They have a selection of local art to buy on the walls, and some coffee and to-go mugs on a little kiosk. Really disappointed with this. The first time my daughter order an avocado toast was so beautiful and yummy. I decided to order one and they handed me a paper with toppings you wanted to add to the toast. Before you just order one and it came with the avocado, some kind of seeds seasoning and balsamic vinegar it was delicious. For some reason I thought it was going to be the same plus whatever topping you wanted to add, but this is what I got and the bacon was cold to. felt really disappointed for what I paid and for what I got. An unexpected find on this island... a first class coffee house. Excellent service, wonderful freah baked goods. The breakfast egg burritos are excelllent and come with bacon, sausage or potato. The pecan sticky buns were so good. They had a dole whip smoothie for the summer when I went and that was delicious as well. My friend got an avocado toast and she liked that she was able to customize it. The inside was cute. I could totally see people hanging out there. They even had a nice fireplace. I want to like this place! I will give it another go around and update my stars if anything changes. I had coffee here with a friend a few weeks ago and got a vanilla latte and a scone, I think it was cranberry orange? The scone was super thick and totally raw in the middle! Just raw dough. My friend also got one and hers was raw as well. The flavor was not great even as we ate around the raw part and the coffee was basic. Growing up on a coffee farm in Hawaii and living my young adult years in San Francisco as well as being a trained professional pastry chef myself, I have high expectations for coffee and pastries. I'm sure the tourists will love it. read more

I've had the pleasure of going to Cedar & Salt a few times. Every time the staff was helpful and kind. Their coffee is wonderful and I've had their "keto" treats. YUM! I really appreciated the clean tables and dining area. Plenty of room and a relaxing place to be. Also, and this is important too, the bathroom was clean and pleasing. I thought this would be a really nice place to study and have coffee. However, the location although in a great area, is difficult to find. Then once I walked in appliances were right in front of the doorway. The floor, seats and tables are covered in crumbs. The music continuously stops and starts randomly. I ordered a sandwich and the chicken inside was very soft and slimy. I had to check and re-check to see if it was cooked. It is obviously thawed and possibly microwaved. I did not finish it due to losing my appetite. read more
