We have used Dr. England for decades & loved him. About 6 years ago I wanted to schedule a visit for a new pet in the family but was told by the lady there that they weren't accepting any new patients... I'm surprised to see they are still open & feel quite deceived that he is actually still seeing patients. I feel ripped off by the lady that said no new patients - especially since we had been seeing him for ages with our other pets. Dr England is amazing! I don't know the name of the lady that was not helpful. IF he is accepting new patients, I would love to have him see our pets but I don't know how that is possible if the front desk lady doesn't want to do the work to have new patients. read more

Dr Ellis is great. He's not big on conversation but he knows his business when it comes to horses. I highly recommend CH vet clinic.

If you go here, be absolutely certain you know in advance what you'll be charged for and be prepared for a lot of rudeness from the staff. I called for a nail trim for my cats and ended up paying the price of a vet visit for each of them - more than double what it should have cost. This alleged "vet visit" consisted of Dr. England trimming the nails on both cats, weighing them both at my request, and talking to me nonstop during the process. That's it. No examination, no discussion of their medical histories (it was our first visit), nothing medical at all. I learned for the first time that they thought this constituted a billable "vet visit" when I went to pay. When I protested, the office staff made endless excuses and blamed me for not asking first. I've been to vets all over the US and never run into this before, so why would I have asked? Sure, this may be a staff problem, but the vet hires and fires the staff, right? And it's his clinic so he's accountable for the actions of the staff, right? So however nice the vet may be, he is responsible for his clinic's deceptive business practices. read more

I just had the worse experience with the person on the phone. Dr. England, you are great but your office staff suck. I called and the guy answered was so cold and I needed an appt. He said, I have to pay in advance.( Yeah right). Dr. England doesn't give the vaccinations but the assistants does. My pup have been going to him for 12 years and now we have to find another vet. I've been going there for 20 years with the best service by DR England. The receptionist Christy is the absolute worst she has no compassion she's rude ,she's condescending and I feel like she feels like she's better than anyone else .Looking at some of the reviews online I am not the only one that feels that way. Dr England is by far the very best vet in the state of Texas. However he needs to rid himself of Kristi/Christie - front desk woman. I've used him off and on for years starting back in 2006-2010 then from 2018- until today. I can't call without being talked to rudely. Today, according to her Dr. England is very big on his customers leaving if they don't like her. I love Dr. England. He's compassionate, excellent at caring for my show dogs. But I can't do this anymore. I would love to talk to him direct. But everyone says he don't get messages unless they are in favor of her. I find it hard to believe that he doesn't see that. the young staff at City Vet are very nice. I took Blu a 10-12 year old cat for an examination. After 17 mins of lab work and $252 latter, Dr Wheeless was unable to diagnose her issue. No antibiotics were prescribed as an extra measure. Based on my estimation and research I suspect Lymphoma. I do find the charges excessive, especially without a diagnosis. What would have been more appropriate, issue an discount of $100 since no diagnosis was given. Too expensive!! living and learning at great cost. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I just moved here from FL and was looking for a vet for my fur babies. I read the good reviews and living in south Dallas it was near. I got there and it looked like an abandoned building (see pictures). I walk in and explain I need a vet for my girls and the receptionist says "We're not taking any new patients. Go see..." I explain I just moved here and she lets out a huffy breath and says "it's down that road" pointing out of the building. NEVER would I let my enemies take their pets here! read more

My family and I have been going to Dr England for as long as I can remember. He is a very honest and blunt man when it comes to treating his animals patients. He does what is necessary not anything more to take your time or money. Many of times I have rescued dogs from the side of the road with some pretty nasty infections and he's taken care of them just like they were my own. Only down side is, he is very busy with many patients, so getting to his clinic early is a must!! Other wise you spend most of your day waiting to be seen. read more

I hate to do this because Dr. England is an awesome vet and we used him since 2003 until he helped us put down our dog of 13 years and cat of 19 1/2 years. Then in 2008 we got 2 kittens and the one we have left was last seen in 2012. She is strictly indoors and was never sick. She is sick now and quit eating and was throwing up and the secretary was down right rude and uncaring. She said Dr. England doesn't see new patients. I explained it all and she said we weren't loyal and he doesn't see new patients. I said We have sent so many new patients to their clinic because how awesome Dr. England is. She didn't care one bit. I said this isn't Dr. England and can you talk to him and she wouldn't. I told her she may be dying, but nope no sympathy or I'm so sorry, but just rude, mean, and uncaring. So we don't know what to do now. Our 14 year old cat is very sick and loosing weight and thanks to this secretary who doesn't care one bit about pets or people I was turned away. Dr. England is by far the best vet I have ever had! At one point in my life I have had six pets one kitty who recently passed and five pups! I have spent thousands of dollars on my pets! I use to go to Hillside Veterinary it can get very costly with these folks. I am sure they are well aware what is wrong with your pet and that more than likely will have to be put down. But first they have to suck thousands of dollars out of you! Dr. England is honest and of great moral character. I may travel in little further but well worth it! I don't have to go into debt with Dr. England. He knew my kitty had renal failure, told to take my kitty home and spend time with her and he said no one better than you will know when she has gotten to sick and must be put down! He gave me week with my Titi to say goodbye! If the world would have more vets like Dr. England would be awesome! Of all my pets I only have two remaining, I adopted all my pets and a couple of elderly pups who needed care. I would do it all over again because what they gave me back made me a better human! There's not enough to say about Dr England! First of all I've been here with my pets for 14+ years, and he genuinely has a love for animals. Always very knowledgeable. Above all he's very understanding that being a guardian to a pet doesn't mean you have $300 dollars to spend on a visit! He always try's to give you options and his prices are more than reasonable, they even offer payment plans! If you get there early enough you can sign in and be out within about 2 hours, but even then your wait will be worth it because your pet will see the best! Whatever people have said about the staff, I've never experienced and I've been there more times than I can count! They're all very knowledgable, friendly, and busy, which may come off as rude to others but they're all very sweet. I'd recommend his place to everyone. read more

We have been taking our pooches to Dr. Tim England and his awesome staff for 30 years now and highly recommend them. You may have to wait but you will receive that old fashion hospitality. Yesterday was a very hard day for my family and I. Not only did my dog die but I came to the clinic and was knocking on the door and some lady came out and told me oh well he needs oxygen he is almost dead and the doctor is not hear. I had my kids with me. My 10 year old daughter who turn 10 yesterday was giving cpr in the car. I drove to Desoto animal clinic ran in and they took my dog my family and started working on him he lived for three hours fighting hard. This lady at Cedar hill vet was very uncaring. The most caring, amazing vets in the world. My family has been going to them for over 10 years and we'd never go anywhere else. If you go during the busy hours or on Saturday, you'll be waiting a while.. but it's definitely worth it. They don't push random shots or vitamins (like other vets I've been forced to use while in college in another city) and they really care about you and your pets. Our beloved famiy dog just had to be put to sleep after a long battle with cancer and they were so gentle and respectful. They tried everything for him and were there to comfort us throughout it all. They are very reasonable with prices and are very generous. Dr. England is amazing and they all truly care about your animals. I can't say enough good things about this place and these people. Absolutely wonderful people that will take extraordinary care of your pets- like they are their own. read more

On my recent visit I came back out to the parking lot to find my car had been broken into and my laptop, iPad, and everything in my backpack had been stolen. I went back inside to inform the front desk and asked if they could call the police. They asked if I had a phone, stating that I needed to handle it myself as they could not be held responsible for what happens in their parking lot. Which is all well and good but I wasn't looking for someone to blame, only hoping someone would help as I was in a state of shock. Thinking back on it I am appalled that the initial response was not in any way sympathetic but rather quite defensive. So just be on the lookout if you go there to not leave any valuables in your vehicle. And if you are victimized as I was don't expect any assistance from the staff. Our family first started using this vet in the 70's when we first moved to Cedar Hill. Now, years later I use this clinic for my pets. Dr. England has been really great. He takes his time to visit with the dog and explain everything you need to know. My kids would come in with me and now that they are grown he still asks about them. it is truely nice to have someone who cares. Yes, the front desk can be a little nicer, but they do have a lot going on. The wait is really worth it. read more
