One other family was dining when we came in. We should have paid attention and left at that point. The room was dark with poor lighting. When one of us asked for a biscuit with sausage the manager was later heard raising his voice at his wait staff repeatedly stating "this isn't McDonald's!" The food was served cold and not everyone's meal was served at the same time. I've given this restaurant more tries than it deserves and I won't make that mistake again. This place is the absolute worst. All the food was cold when it came to the table. The food was staggered when we only had six people in our party. One in our party only wanted a biscuit and a slice of sausage (which is in the sides part of the menu), and they were the last person to receive their food. We could hear the manager from the kitchen saying, "What is this McDonald's?" He is the most unprofessional person working in a kitchen in St Marys. We came here a year ago December 2021 when we stayed at a nearby Airbnb and it was fantastic! The breakfast prices were amazing and the food and coffee were great. Now that we live closer we drove 35 minutes to relive our breakfast experience. What a disappointment, the prices have gone way up (somewhat understandable since the price of everything is up), but the service was very poor, they need more help. Our waitress argued when we told her the coffee cream was not half and half, but a vanilla creamer. She said it came out of the half and half carton. Later she told another customer that they have French vanilla creamer, obviously what we received. It took 15 minutes to get our check. I hope they get more help and tighten up their service. read more

Really disappointed with our visit because we had high hopes for it and wanted to support our local restaurants. We walked in with very little guidance where to seat and it took a while for someone to greet us and take our drink order. After sitting, we noticed how sticky the table & menus were and how dirty the seats were. One of our napkins had bleach spots on it. After an 8 minute wait to receive our two drinks, our waitress did the absolute bare minimum. She was the most effective when she assumed we were done with our meal and hurried to take our plates mid bite to offer our check. I guess I was done, according to her. We were mostly disappointed when we saw another customer, who was an older gentleman and a Vietnam veteran interested in purchasing a pastry from their front entrance by the patio where they display their dessert cooler. He patiently waited for 10-15 minutes to be assisted, but two servers including ours walked by him to retrieve something from behind the stand, then walked by him AGAIN without acknowledging him or offering any help. The space in that area is very tight so the two waitresses HAD to see him in order to walk past him. This poor gentleman finally left and drove away empty handed. We noticed this same attitude from the cook and other waitresses as we saw others walking by us without being greeted or offered help. The staff was more concerned about the game playing on the outside tv. This was the best beginning of our day! We wanted a big breakfast for my friends birthday and they rolled out the red carpet to us! The service was terrible. A party of 4 was given their meal 10 min. apart. Eggs Benedict wasn't even close.

Our visit here for lunch was, honestly unknown to us, 10 minutes before they close at 2 p.m. Seriously, we didn't know that until we sat, ordered and I checked in on Yelp! When the server came with our drinks, I asked her why she didn't tell us they were getting ready to close, we would have left and she told us no worries, still had plenty of work to do, plus two locals were still in there yapping and such, so a "point" for customer service. The Mrs. ordered a BLT that she mostly liked and I ordered a two egg omelet (cheese, sausage, onions and peppers please) that wasn't bad but not crazy good either. The sausage was some kind of cubed pork. The service was pretty quick and friendly, again despite us showing up at closing time. I can't say we'd go running back, but we are willing to give it another try if we're in the area. read more

We moved to St. Mary's 3 years ago and went to Cedar Oak cafe. At that time we were incredibly disappointed with the food and service. After it changed ownership and had a complete renovation, we decided to go back for another try and we were SHOCKED with the positive changes. The food was a 180 turn around and service was southern charm. They actually cared about us and our experience. Great job and a good restaurant for downtown St. Mary's. Highly recommend! read more

My wife and I went there for breakfast this morning. If the server had not been pleasant, this would have been a 1 star review. We were the first and only customers there. The atmosphere is austere, and not well maintained. We had only a very basic 1 page menu with which to choose both breakfast and lunch selections. I got the "3 egg" Western omelette and when it finally came out, it appeared to be a very small 1.5 egg omelette. The included cheddar cheese was not in it. My wife's "crispy" hash browns were chewy and greasy. To make the experience even worse, the kitchen is open to the indoor dining area and they were playing loud music which was annoying enough but our server spent more time singing in the kitchen than checking on us which made it all the worse! We do not recommend this place and will never go back! read more

This cafe was recommended. The delicious smell of bacon filled the air. As we opened the door, we looked around this tiny place and thought- as old as it looks, it must be great! This is our breakfast place on the days we walk the waterfront while camping at Crooked River. Probably have eaten here 10-15 times. Especially like the covered porch.
