Crab Omlette with potatoes and a biscuit
    David A.

Amazing, elevated, elegant breakfast experience recently at Magnolia Cafe! There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, casual or classy, and this is where the locals know to go. It was just a fantastic find on our last trip to Fernandina Beach. You'll definitely want to make this a stop for breakfast of brunch. The inside house decor was elegant. Flowers as accents everywhere and beautifully done. Our waiter was attentive, informative and the overall service was simply impeccable. When it comes to the food itself, another home run! You can raise your breakfast expectations...they will be met. The coffee was fresh, bold, amazing. The biscuit was exactly as it should be. Buttery, crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside and just amazing. One of the best I've had. I ordered the crab omlette and it was perfect. I even asked, being from Md., if it was JO spice that was used just perfectly in the omlette and it was kept a secret. They should protect it, this omlette, this overall experience was stellar and I know we'll be back.

Outstanding breakfast and cappuccino at Magnolia Cafe. The Eggs Benedict was served perfectly and the cappuccino was hot and thick with foam. 10/10 score from The Nugent's. Our waitress was attentive and polite!

Fabulous experience at Magnolia Cage today! Wonderful menu and difficult to make a selection because of all the great options. Finally decided on tne breakfast burrito and ham and cheese croissant and loved them both. Quick service, cozy atmosphere and reasonable prices made this a winner.

Stopped in for Sunday brunch and got seated right away. Orientation of the building looks like the patio stays shaded year round which is nice. Look like many others had the same idea because there were no open tables outside. Started with a vanilla latte, which was quite good, and ordered the Fried Green Tomato Benedict. Batter on the tomatoes had great flavor but the hollandaise flavor was just okay. To be fair, I did order it without the hot sauce but the flavor should not entirely rely on hot sauce imo. The English muffin was too big making the ratios off. I'd rate it 3.8/5 Hubby got the Risk It Biscuit. Flavor was pretty good and filling. Personally I think k it would be better served over grits. Hubby rated it 4.8/5 Overall, I'd rate the experience a 4.5 but I'll around up to 5 for offering to-go pastries and coffees at the walk up counter.

    Peaches and cream French toast

Nice place, busy for breakfast on the weekend. Has indoor and outdoor seating. The peaches and cream would have been amazing if the peaches were heated. Ice cold peaches cooled down my hot French toast quickly. That's the only reason I gave a 4 star instead of 5. The service was great and they took the cold dish off my bill and gave us pastries to go. That goes a long way in my book to make up for a bad experience. My husband's egg sandwich was great. Would definitely return.

Fried green tomatoes Benedict, hashbrowns, and side of sausage

Busy for good reason! Since we didn't have anywhere to store leftovers, my husband and I split the fried green tomatoes Benedict and hashbrowns and added sausage. Our server Amber, said she could serve it on 2 plates (very nice). My husband asked how the hashbrowns were and she told us that the are fresh potatoes/no frozen. It was abundantly clear how's fresh everything is! Everything was beautiful, perfectly cooked, and incredibly delicious. The hollandaise sauce was smooth and creamy; possibly the best I've ever had. The fried green tomatoes were also very good even though I don't usually like a cornmeal breading. Give me a second with the hashbrowns because you may think, how hard could that be to mess up, but these are shredded finer that I usually have, so they are crispy on all the right places without being overdone, but they also are tasty and not at all greasy. Another nice touch, that is possibly just how Amber is, she calls people by their name, so it makes it feel homey in a comfortable atmosphere. Seems like a lot of locals come here often, and I understand why. Worth the wait!

Wow!!! Great lunch/brunch today We were seated right away- the place was hopping. It was busy (always a good sign). The tomato soup was drizzled with basil oil- nice and hot with a touch of spice - delish !! Roasted beet salad- fresh, great flavors. I loved the goat cheese in combination with the pecans and blueberries. The Blood orange vinaigrette was perfectly balanced. Great option to have the breakfast and lunch menu choices at the same time- so many combinations- and fresh pastries too in the coffee shop area The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed. I highly recommend

Everything was SO GOOD!! We did have a little wait when walking in but that means they're busy! Servers were both very kind. I had the matcha latte and the fresh start(sub cornhash)

My wife, who was jonesing for clam strips for some reason, decided to order fried clam strips even though I cautioned her they're not known for clams AND we'll be making a separate trip to Cedar Key (clam capital) sometime soon. Anyway, my dish was good. The shrimp were well prepared, tender and not rubbery with crispy breading that wasn't too greasy. The cilantro ranch dipping sauce was a good compliment. My wife liked her clam strips even though some pieces were a bit chewy. The batter was nice and crispy and didn't seem greasy but she thought it had too many little pieces. Oh yeah, those hush puppies were quite good! Good ambience and decent value for fresh seafood. Lunch for 2 with tip came out to just under $32 with tip.

Perfect crab dip, so rich, so flavorful. -Lobster Bisque: 2/10 - This wasn't bisque, it wasn't even chowder. It was so thick and had no real taste to it. -Goat Cheese Burger: 9/10 - creamy, goat cheese was the star, overall delicious. fries were good too! -Lobster Ravioli: 7/10 - disappointing, to be honest.
