I went in looking for sausage and peppers like I saw online, but they don't carry them anymore at this location. I think if the websites show everything on it, they should list that some items are not available at all locations. I then found the New Orleans Muffaletta that sounded wonderful, but it said it had prosciuttini on it; I'm familiar and LOVE prosciutto so I started my order and said that I had never had that before, but I assumed it was pretty similar to prosciutto. She told me that that it was a peppered ham, but was not on the sandwich. I said it clearly says it's on a sandwich and she looked at the menu board and said well it doesn't, it has capicola. I stepped away and looked up what prosciuttini was, and it was not described anything like a peppered ham or like she described. I was to the point of not wanting to order anything, but since my husband and son were with me and they wanted something, I asked her if I could see what it looked like so I can make a decision. She held it up and it didn't look anything different than regular ham. I decided to get it anyway, and I asked her if it could be made like the menu described. She stared at the menu board for a minute and thought about it and decided it was OK to do it that way. That seemed like the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard; if the menu shows what is on it and you seem to make it differently than what it's supposed to be, wouldn't you expect it to make it as it says on the menu without question - I'm not modifying anything! It turned out to be a very nice sandwich. The bread was fresh, the lunch meat was fresh, and even the muffaletta was good, albeit not drained much, so it was very oily. My husband had a Kong and thought it was very good as well. Just to clarify, she was not rude or anything like that, she was actually a nice person. I just think the whole thing was insane that I was being told I was wrong. I would go back again. read more

(7:00pm) The lady that works here is always by herself and has the most pissed off attitude on the face of the planet. It's because she has no help and stays busy on a Sunday. Great subs! They also have CHICAGO STYLE HOT DOGS!!! Was extremely happy to see this! A little pricey for a hot dog, but less expensive than a plane ticket, and much better weather here in Fernandina than Chicago, so that's worth something! They also will make any sub into a salad. I ordered four subs here online for pick up and only one was made to perfection. For the sandwich I ordered the bread was hard as a rock and it wasn't even toasted. It was good tasting turkey club sub that would have been much better with fresh bread. My daughter's order was all messed up. They put onions and bacon when it was not requested. Larrys has one of the best Philly sandwiches I've ever had .. and I'm a fan of Philly sandwiches.. their Boss man I add some mayo and jalapeños to it and my god it's absolutely DELICIOUS.. take it from me, you want a great sandwich get the BOSS MAN w/ Mayo and Jalapeños from there and you will NOT be disappointed in fact I have to say it's one of my favorite overall meals .. and the staff is always on point and quick, great quality overall imo! Well I have heard that Larry's has been around Jacksonville for a long time and has many fans. I am now a fan for numerous reasons but the number one reason is that I love T-shirts with logos, drawings etc on them and on my second visit to Larry's there was a sign by the register that the Larry's T-shirt was only $8.00 and if you wear it into the store you get 15% off your meal. What an offer that I could not refuse. Don't tell anyone but I am keeping my T-shirt in the car so that any time I get a craving for Larry's food I can wear my T-shirt proudly and get a 15% savings. I picked a turquoise one if you want to know. So now let's get back to why I like this place. I had a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich both times and it was delicious. Larry's makes one of my favorite subs around here. I wish the service here was better. They always, ALWYAS mess up the sub and what goes on it. Ordering to go is tough because on multiple occasions they have left items out of the bag, forgot toppings on the sandwich or completely made the wrong one. I never change anything and order the sub as is but they always forget the cheese or the dressing. On two occasions they have left the cheesecake out of the bag. BUT - the Greek veggie sub is to die for! The bread is always fresh and excellent. Larry's makes the best sub in the area, hands down. If it wasn't for the mildly unfriendly staff or the mistakes, they'd get a 6/5 stars. read more

Ran in to eat something quickly. We were greeted with a friendly welcome. After we ordered and paid the owner came out to tell us we were mistakenly over charged. It was a mistake that she caught right after we were rung up. It was only a few bucks but she was honest about it and I didn't even notice. Paid nearly 12 bucks for a chicken parm hero... not complaining about the 12 bucks, but I am complaining about what I got for it -- a hero, thinly filled with with thin cut pieces of un-coated chicken breast (which was tender), topped with a small amount of tomato sauce, sprinkled with grated cheese... this is not how chicken parmesan is made. It's supposed to be breaded chicken cutlets, topped with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce and baked until cheese melts. I thought it was odd, when I got it 3 mins after ordering it - now I know why. Not sure how you can sell/serve/name something, that isn't what you say it is... and charge top dollar for it to boot. Just no.... If you want an overpriced bread sandwich, this is the place for you. I had the Most ridiculous experience here. Got an overpriced Italian sub with almost literally no meat on it. Sat down to eat it and realized this, so I politely told the employee that there must have been a mistake and the sandwich was 99% bread in which the employee responded that they weigh the meat, and that was the correct amount. She proceeded to bring meat out from behind the counter into the seating area to show me, rather than to be nice and just let me have it considering I wasn't a satisfied customer. But no joke it was literally one slice of salami, one slice of ham, and one slice of another meat. 3 slices of meat for a full sandwich. I get that prices are inflated as heck thanks to Mr. Biden, but come on now.
