We made reservations to celebrate our 22nd anniversary at the Cedar St. Grille. We waited in a short line outside. It didn't take long to get seated. It did however take way too long to get our drinks (30 minutes) and after waiting 45 minutes for our appetizer of chowders, we asked for our check and left. We did meet up outside with the manager, Patrick. He apologized for the mishap inside and asked us to rejoin them, which we did. He took great care of us. We literally just left the restaurant and I must write a review as it so exceeded our expectations! We sat in the bar area at a two person high top as we did not have reservations and it was a busy night. The service was wonderfully friendly and professional. Our server helped make this first visit very special with her wonderful personality. We shared 4 small plates and having had versions of some of the dishes elsewhere, we had some expectation. Let just say that we will be back as soon as possible for the fried goat cheese plate and scallop plate. Wow, absolutely fabulous! The balance of sweet apple with the tangy fried cheese, wonderfully satisfying and the scallops were buttery, tender, with a touch of heat from the jalapeños. The Shepards pie poutine was also delicious as well as the Chicken Satay sliders. Had a wonderful Pinot Grigio and would have had the desserts if we had not finished every single bite of food on of the 4 plates, which were not even that small! This has always been my favorite restaurant in Sturbridge. The food the cocktails omg 100% love it. But for the first time I brought my 4 year old son with us to brunch and it was SUCH a lovely experience. We all doodled on the paper table cover with crayons and had the best time. We were originally booked for a high top and when they saw my son they very kindly accommodated us at a regular table in a quiet corner- I thought that was very kind. They even mixed one of their old drink specials for me even though it was no longer on the menu. I just love this restaurant. Can't recommend them enough. read more

You absolutely have to try this place. It was so cute inside, The food was really amazing, and the waitress, Sarah, was 10 out of 10. I mean truly she was incredible! She was totally on it the entire time. Our water cups were never less than half full, she gave great suggestions, she picked up on the vibe that were catching up with each other and took a little time ordering, she was so attentive at the perfect moments. I wish all waitresses had what she had! We tried multiple appetizers, and 3 different entrees. The cauliflower, the pickles, the hummus - you can't go wrong with any of them. The hangar steak, cooked to perfection. The mac and cheese, soooo creamy and flavorful (I added bacon at the waitresses recommendation, she did not steer me wrong!) we also had amaretto sours, all house made ingredients! Great meal while on the road north. They accommodated all allergies and the group had a few. My kids loved the cheeseburger and Mac & Cheese. Scallops, fried calamari, wings and dates were ordered by the adults. Everyone in the group loved them. Bathrooms were very clean. Started with the Crazy Dates which are delicious, then the swordfish which was cooked perfectly and the blueberry peach cobbler which really impressed. Amazing food, great presentation, knowledgeable staff and relaxed ambiance. We had the house salad, the duck and the maple walnut cheesecake. I finished up the meal with a decaf espresso. Absolutely delicious - the small plates are such a great way to share and get to try a little of everything. The French onion burger sliders were my favorite - fried goat cheese was amazing too. It's a Sturbridge 4/5, but a general 3/5. Main concern is that the plates were extremely small. We ordered a full chicken Caesar salad to split half and half with the Buffalo Mac n cheese. Both of them have been prepared better by me myself and I'm not a seasoned cook. It's a cute place, and some of the appetizers were quite tasty, but doesn't really match up with the price. Came in for brunch with a friend and we were very impressed with both the food and drinks were delicious. Presentation was A+ for both. The proximity to our hotel was unmatched, as we were not entirely familiar with the area but come for the antique show. Interior was nice and clean with some cute artwork on the wall. My only complaint would be that the service was slow for it being first thing in the morning with a very empty dining room. We got there at open and the place didn't fill up for at least an hour. Our drinks were empty for a little while before the waitress came and checked on us. However the quality of the food and drinks made up for it. Will be back next year for more read more

Absolutely awesome restaurant. I came in expecting a "nice" dinner, but did not expect this! In such a small town and unsuspecting exterior, the interior and ambiance blew me away. My waiter was incredibly friendly, professional, and experienced. She even took the table's extensive order without any notes (which is honestly something that blows my mind every time I see this happen). The fried goat cheese and angry clams were very nice starters. My table of three was able to share very easily with the two apps. The Steak Pablo was an excellently sized portion (quite a nice sized salad with a delicious vinaigrette as well). High recommended! read more

She and Kimberly, Annie collaborated on the drinks menu & it's (they are) the finest I've ever seen or had, and I've been around (I worked for TripAdvisor and live in the Boston area!) The drinks were delicious and beautiful and, if you prefer, they will customize, based on what you like and don't like. This was just what the doctor ordered after a family wedding in the area. Another great brunch on New Year's Day! I of course HAD to have the same thing I had last time, goat cheese, arugula, bacon and a jam grilled cheese on fresh sourdough. So good!!!!!! Others from my Table enjoyed the chorizo and jalapeño Mac and cheese, a wonderful fresh made chorizo hash and a spinach (and something else) frittata. All meals were devoured. Good portions. Well, after finishing a three day conference where I presented 3 times, I am bushed and wanted a wonderful lunch experience and got it here. Bacon wrapped dates are wonderful. I love them the way I make them and these do not disappoint. They serve four big ones with a spinach salad. You will want more than four. Amazing and addictive. The short rib tacos have a great slaw and cream. Wonderful combo of flavored. The Mac and cheese. Oh boy. This is how it should be. Served in a cast iron skillet. Creamy dense and delicious. I just had the plain but I'm guessing the lobster Mac is divine. Service was attentive and his suggestion of the tacos was great when I was on the fence. The dining room was nice and well lit .. We started off with an appetizer of the stuffed dates.. They were very good and the best part of our meal. Unfortunately they were the only delicious part. My sister and I decided to share twolunch entrées. We had lobster mac & cheese and the short rib tacos. Both dishes were lacking in flavor.
