I came into the office yesterday to have my aligner attachments placed by Dr. Lin and his assistant Elizabeth, and they were both so attentive and got me set up quickly. The front desk staff was also warm which made the whole experience even better. :) It's now the next night and my aligners feel snug but still comfortable...I was able to sleep through the night just fine and feel like I'm adjusting. I'll be changing my trays every two weeks with a total of 10 trays in my treatment plan, so a total of 5 months. Dr. Lin let me know that if I have any discomfort he's happy to take a look and make adjustments. Love this office! I have been to a number of dentists in the Seattle area and never felt comfortable. But at Complete Dentistry, I felt right at home. Making appointments is easy, the staff is so nice and friendly. There's plenty of parking as well, which makes it easy to come on time. And Dr. Pat is the best. He explained all the necessary treatment and answered all my questions completely. And he does everything. I have to come back for one root canal and one implant and I can do it all at Complete Dentistry! Very fitting name if you ask me. I had sedation when I had a crown and my wisdom tooth extracted and although it took forever to feel normal again, but I didn't take any pain medication just the antibiotics. I believe if you take pain medication then it will take longer to heal. I could be wrong but my pain tolerance is pretty high. I'm coming back for my cleaning in January. Rated two stars because my first experience there was good. Since then they have gone downhill but I've stayed. Today I went in for a 1 hour appointment and was there on time. I got taken to the back room and was lying in the chair by 910. I was lying there and got numbed up by 930 with shots and gel. I was still lying there waiting at 955 so I got up and left. It seemed like no one was around. Went to the front and told the receptionist this was an hour appointment and we have five minutes left...I have to go... She was nice about it and apologized. At my most recent appointment I met Dr. Lin for the first time. He began his exam and within about 15 seconds declared he wanted to do fillings on three teeth. Nothing had ever been said previously about these teeth needing attention, and Dr. Lin did not do a good job in explaining the reason(s) for the work he wanted to perform. This did not seem right to me... My new dentist performed his exam and said he saw no areas that needed attention/fillings. I understand there's some subjectivity in the practice of dentistry, as in any field. However, my suspicion is that Dr. Lin's focus is on maximizing revenue; this is an unfortunate change from the conservative approach and integrity demonstrated by Dr. Etue. read more

I would give 5 stars if Dr Etue was still there. He was a great dentist and made going to the dentist possible for someone with dental anxiety like me. There was no explanation as to why he is not there and there is a new dentist with new staff who seem to just want to get you in and get you out. It just doesn't seem as thorough as it should be. No polishing of teeth during a teeth cleaning. That's my favorite part! They also didn't know about my dental history and were never even introduced to me. The website still lists Dr Etue and I find that quite odd. I'm going to look for a new dentist. read more

Man what a relief.... after years of anxiety about my teeth and seeing a dentist and worried about the outcome, this place is key. From the front desk to the Dr. 100%. I have never in the last 15 years felt better about my smile. I was a heavy tobacco user for awhile and had stains that I thought were permanent, I had a hole in one tooth and I could not even floss my front teeth as I thought that they were in decline. I discovered this practice because I had tooth pain and yelp pointed me here... that pain turned out to be a sinus infection, but really like this practice because it's efficient and technology forward, not to mention I liked the team (although I should note that Brandy, the receptionist, can be a bit terse before she warms up to you). From that one visit, I did ended up receiving unexpected diagnosis for other issues. First, advance gum disease, which is totally fair thanks to my poor dental hygiene (e.g. in my 45 years of life, I only had one cleaning until I came to this practice). I'm grateful for how the team worked with me to tackle it. Second, Dr. Etu was convinced that I needed a crown replaced when there was no serious functional issue with it... in his defense, it was pretty worn out since I had that crown for 30+ years. I was quite resistant to the replacement because the tooth was totally fine eventhough the crown was old. Eventually I relented, but I've since struggled with the bite for 9 months and severe pain for 6 months and periodic pain and sensitivity. The first few times I mentioned it, I was told it would settle, but it never really did so I just stopped mentioning it. And the last time it flared I did wondered whether I should be referred out to an endodontist, and was told that it just need some coating and bonding... after nearly three years and two infections I ended up referring myself out to an endodontist, who confirmed the nerve is dead, and I need a root canal. I wish I had gotten it done when I still had really really good dental insurance from my last job. Overall, I appreciate that Dr. Etu is extremely knowledgeable and does great work, and I think he genuinely cares... not to mention he has a great reputation amongst the dentists in the area. However, he and I have butted heads repeatedly over this one tooth and a few other treatment issues that I feel like I would just be more comfortable with another dentist who is more in sync with me. Also, I read from someone else that he is no longer at this practice. In whatever case, five stars and a special shout out to Kat, the dental hygienist, who is absolutely amazing. She not only helped me understand why I should have regular cleanings even if I have reasonably good teeth and no general issues, but she is always giving me tips on better brushing and maintenance techniques. She makes me want to come back because I really like interacting with her and I am intensely sad at the thought of not having my teeth cleaned by Kat, but it doesn't make sense to have your cleaning at one dental office and see a dentist at another. read more

I've been coming here for almost 10 years and always feel welcomed everytime. The ladies and the dentists do a very good job of keeping me relaxed and informed of what is going on in my mouth. I am a cry baby when it comes to dentistry. Dr. Etue and now Dr. Junio have always been gentle, patient, and considerate with me. I only had a few fillings with Dr. Etue years back and it's turning color in some areas. Dr. Junio has assured me that those are just stains and there is no evidence of decay developing. De Etue is gone; he's the reason everyone came to this place. The new Asian dentist is terrible. Barely took a look at my teeth and was trying to sign me up for a crown and filling. He also laughed and I said I was "the third one this week". He asked me why I didn't take care of a crack, which means he never looked at my history, or would have known we were "keeping an eye on things" in order to avoid surgery, as Dr Etue would say, a much more conservative approach. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. Shame because I love my hygienist to death. Avoid this place unless you want a trigger happy dentist with no bedside manners. read more

Like many, I have a lot of anxiety about dental work. Complete dentistry seems focused on comfort, good communications. Just had a cracked filling replaced which required a device to hold jaw open, something I particularily hate, but the team made sure I was comfortable and felt some margin of control. I found this location by googling dentists near me. Particularly looking for one with great reviews and low dollar signs because I am a cash paying client with no dental insurance, after all that's what everyone wants, right? I was a little skeptical on how knowledgeable they would be and how good of a job they would do on my teeth because I am a person who looks forward to a good teeth clean....truth! I'm extremely picky and have an overall great record of clean teeth however this time I had an issue with sharp pain I've never experienced before and was a little worried about what was going on in my mouth. I also have a Tori which makes getting great ex rays difficult to achieve. Straight out of the gate I explained my concerns and issues. All personal from the front desk to Dr. Etue were very friendly and knowledgeable. His equipment was able to take the best ex rays! The hygienist offered to numb my sensitive area and was very cautious when working around it and he was communicating with me and letting me know exactly what he was doing so though I was nervous. He made me very comfortable and I only knew him for maybe 20 minutes, I trusted him. They explain the issue and it makes sense what's going on and they were genuinely concerned about future care of my teeth. I do believe after this first visit, it will be my dentist place for a very long time. The last dentist I stayed with for 27 years, I think we can beat that! read more

It had been 13 years since I had seen a dentist and I was very nervous about going. I selected Dr. Etue at Complete Dentistry due primarily to the reviews on Yelp. Not only was it not disappointed but the service by Dr. Etue and all the staff exceeded my expectations. This is in light of the fact that I'm 66 years old and have visited numerous dentist over all these years. I went in for my initial check up expecting to be there for an hour. Due to the thoroughness of my exam, cleaning, x-rays, pictures and consultation with Dr. Etue I was there for almost 2 1/2 hours. It was time well spent. As an added bonus I had nitrous oxide for the first time at no extra charge. Although I need extensive work they gave me information about payment options. I can't thank them enough. read more

I made an appointment a few weeks ago, due to the good reviews. One day before my appointment I got horrible food poisoning. I called to reschedule, since I was physically unable to have people In my mouth while. I could not stop vomiting. LYDIA answered the phone. I started to explain my situation when she abruptly interrupted, and said (with an insane amount of attitude) "yeah you need to start with your NAME...' Um. Okay. I was put off by her rudeness but gave her my name anyways. Then she proceeded to tell me the business has a THREE DAY cancellation policy and I will be billed regardless. She also told me I needed to show up because her next available cleaning was in OCTOBER. (This seems impossible, as I made an appointment only a week or so in advance) she was so rude. So pressuring. So patronizing and just so bad at her job. I tell her I guess I'll see you tomorrow... But she had hung up on me. Maybe we got disconnected. But if that were the case I would have expected her to call back. I was up the night before my appointment vomiting my brains out. So I did not go. I'm sure I'll get charged a hefty fee for not giving 3 days notice for my food poisoning, or just for a no call no show. But I could not physically be present, and I did not want to speak to that nasty woman again. It's a shame because I'm sure the dentist does a great Job. But this is what happens when you allow rude people to be the face (voice) of your business. read more

I came to the dentist because my husband had hole in his tooth and in pain. We went to this dentist because of good reviews. We even got dental insurance just to go for this dentist. When I was at the dentist office, I followed my husband to the x-ray room but then the dentist assistant asked me to wait outside because its just x-ray. She said she will call me once my husband meet with the dentist but she never call me at all until my husband done. So the whole time I was just waiting outside. I'm not to happy with it as I always with my husband whenever he visited dentist as we both want to know what the dentist said about his teeth health. Vice versa when I visited doctors he always come with me in the doctor's room. My husband told me during the visit the dentist said that the tooth need to be fixed soon because it has affect on his heart problem. So the dentist know that the treatment was needed urgent. After that, we talked to Brandy K, patient liaison, she told us that the delta dental washington insurance not covered for major treatment due to the waiting period. I said to her that prior signed up for the insurance, I spoke to the customer service and they said the waiting period is waived and it's stated in the policy. But Brandy response was this is first time she heard as long as she works at the dental office since 2015 that the insurance is waiving waiting period. I said to her that it was in the policy. But she still doesn't believe it and need to check with the insurance. I told her that I will call the insurance as well. After I called insurance, they confirmed that waiting period is waived and the dental office should see it by scrolling down in the bottom of policy. I called the dentist office and spoke to Brandy again. She said apologize for not reading the policy thoroughly and she confirmed no waiting period. But she said that she need to send predetermination and approval from insurance could take 1-2weeks. She said she will call us once the insurance approve it. Weeks passed by and no call from dentist so my husband called asked what need to be done so he can get the treatment as his tooth is getting worst and painful. I witnessed it that he was calmly talking to Brandy and not even one swear words or yelling. But Brandy seems just doesn't want to deal with him and tell him that the dentist will call him. We also called insurance company and they said the predetermination has been approved since June 18th and they said again that the treatment actually doesn't need any predetermination meaning my husband should be able to get treatment right away after his first visit. The dentist left voicemail said he will take care of everything personally from now on. But then he called my husband said completely different things. He said they didn't have obligation to follow up with the insurance company and its patient responsibility to follow up and call insurance. He said he will recommended other dentists. Furthermore, he said in the email that my husband is "aggressive" and after that in the comment he said my husband did "verbal abuse". We as customer have proactively called insurance company before we went to this dentist, first day went to this dentist, a week after and two weeks after. We followed all the procedure that the dentist office wanted and needed. But yet in the end we are the one to be blamed by the dentist. Is this what highest level of care as he advertised in his website? Furthermore, the dentist also said on the phone that he hasn't got paid from the insurance for the first visit. We don't know how the insurance works to pay so we are so confused and thats when we feel the dentist is only concern about money rather then patient health. If the dentist just wanted us to pay on site without insurance he should've just told us then we'll pay instead of going through what we have go through and got not good service. I don't have to write more and hope whoever read this will think twice to go to this dentist and spend your money somewhere else. Don't fall only for most good reviews in Yelp, Google or other review sites. But also take consideration of not good reviews from other customers as well. Thank you. read more

Dr. Etue and his team have been so caring and understanding, verbally walking me through everything, ensuring physical and mental comfort, and making things as pain free as possible. I've been coming here since 2016, and even now with Covid, they've been able to adapt and ensure that patients like myself who feel a bit vulnerable feel safe with their precautions. Dr. Etue's bedside manor along with the rest of the team is remarkable. I look forward to seeing them twice a year. Even with the dental anxiety, I don't paying for gas to help with the nerves as soon as the tools come out- I am still excited to come here! First, be aware that most of the reviews online are for Dr. Etue and not for the current owner Dr. Lin. We have gone to Complete Dentistry for approximately 10 years were always satisfied and happy with Dr. Etue and the staff at Complete Dentistry. We were saddened when he left 9 months ago but decided to give Dr. Lin a try, especially as the staff seemed happy to stay. At my last cleaning Dr. Lin informed me that I needed not 1 or 2 fillings but 8 when 6 months ago I had had a clean exam. These "fillings" where not shown on x-ray, but Dr. Lin's visual judgement. Additionally his chair-side manner is brisk and unwelcoming. I will be getting a second opinion and taking our business elsewhere. read more
