Astoria Co+op, which is across the street from a Shell Gas Station, is a market that has a little…read moresalad bar and deli that also sells prepared meals and even has a little dining area for you to eat your food. Because we were driving through on our road trip, we decided to make a stop here for a late lunch this last Tuesday afternoon, around 2:15 pm. After we parked, we walked inside and headed towards the salad bar/ hot bar food area. After looking around (there is also a counter that you can order made to order sandwiches and burritos), I ended up deciding to purchase the following: Peanut Chicken Sesame Noodle Salad, $8.99- This was quite a massive portion so I only ended up eating about 1/3 of it and then had the rest over the next few days (I ended up mixing it with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes that I had to make a large salad). I loved the peanut sesame dressing and noodles in this salad but wished there was more chicken. Mayak Egg Noodle Bowl, $8.99- My husband picked this salad for himself but I didn't have any. He thought it was good and appreciated something fresh, as his bowl had shredded cabbage, like my salad, and cucumbers and shredded carrots. Pumpkin Pie, $6.99- My husband saw this small pumpkin pie and decided to get it because he is such a big fan of it. I actually don't like pumpkin as much as when I was much younger. But I did like this pie and thought the flavors were well balanced, not too overly sweet. ---------------------------------------- (Total= $24.97) I really appreciated that the little dining area (there is also an outdoor dining area as well but because it had rained previously, we opted to sit inside) had plastic bowls and plates available for you to put your food in. This was helpful for me to be able to thoroughly mix my noodle salad since the dressing was mostly on the bottom. Then after I mixed it, I just put it back in the plastic container and only left about 1/3 of the salad in my bowl to eat. If I lived in this area, I would definitely be a regularly of this market (specifically for the prepared food area).

Staff were very engaging and friendly. Salad bar/deli/prepared foods clean and well organized…read more Rotisserie chickens look delicious. Lots of different items that are not found in national chains. HOWEVER, I know the items are organic/local but we thought the prices were extremely high. Did not make a purchase.

The Chesters chicken is always fresh and hot :-) there are several wooden picnic tables that you can eat your meal at with a great view of Mount Saint Helens and some other surrounding mountains. Gas prices are competitive. If you're driving North take exit 63. Winlock exit., check it out!

But once you step inside, it feels more cramped than expected, doesn't look that nice, and my friend and I were both unsatisfied with the drink selection. They're one of those weird places where they only allow credit. But this place had a pop up that said "Debit? Yes or No", which doesn't make any sense since you can't do debit. We had a guy come out from the back to the cash register, and while he was chill, he seemingly didn't care. Overall, this place doesn't look that great, didn't have something we wanted to purchase, and didn't have the customer service, to all combine as the ingredients to make me never go again. Unless I really want Chester's Chicken and don't want to drive that far from my friend's house in Toledo. I didn't even realize they sold Chester's Chicken until I saw a picture on here. Stop by the Shell just a little bit down the road, or go to the Gasco or the grocery store. It's not much farther.

When Shop and Kart bought it I thought great. Started going again then it became really dirty in the Bakery. So I stopped going. So I figured I give it a try again since Winco in Centralia. I was surprised by the cake I bought, the Bakery was clean again. The customer service was fanstastic in the meat department Cory helped me and could answer my questions about the meat. He was so pleasant and didnt make me feel like im bothering him. He knows his product unlike Winco the meat department tells me they dont grade there meat? I was in the Hospitality Food Industry 55 years and my father was a Chef who owned and ran Restaurants. He would have laughed at the man at Winco...I was surprised how nice the cashier was and not making me wait in line and it was only one in front of me. That happen both times I went in.. Thats customer service again... Most stores dont care how long your waiting as you look at the employees standing. I will be going back to Fullers again due to new owners knowing how important customer service is and knowledge of products sold. The cashier who help me was the lady who helped me always at Shop and Kart who was always very nice, she older like myself. Her and Cory brought me back and the Baker who took my cake order over the phone. Desiree Casey
