I couldn't bring myself to teat it. The batter was crsipy, but lacked seasoning and tasted really flat (cardboard?). Aside from that, the coleslaw seemed pretty old soggy. Gross. Not impressed at all - some of the worst fish and chips I have ever had. Some people may like this kind of food - but i will actively avoid this place the next time in Astoria. Also during christmas, I got online pick up for a mickey mouse christmas train set. They sold out, so I placed the same order online for shipping. It delayed and delayed and delayed until it finally canceled. Why? Because they changed their price from $10 to freaking $65 and wanted me to pay the higher price. I called and went in circles with people for hours. The train wouldn't come in time for christmas anymore which made me sad, but at that point I just wanted them to ship me the product for the price I BOUGHT IT FOR INSTEAD OF WHAT THEY WERE TRYING TO UPCHARGE ME. they wouldn't. They wont allow you to 'fix' while in line, you have to go stand in a long line with one overworked customer svc person, and its a major hassle, especially if you're popsicles are thawing. I am an astute shopper - I'm expert on using their app, clipping their coupons, reading the ads before I shop, etc., and to boot I worked grocery early in my long career. These were genuine errors. We've had to endure a near year-long revamp of the store, its nearly finished, and I've yet to to see ANYWHERE any improvement in the experience. Its mind boggling how much money they spent to achieve NOTHING. When I was a checker, they came out with the most efficient way to process items; customer puts product on belt, the employee scans it and puts it right in the shopping bag. Boom, handled once! Super efficient! A few years ago some idiot with no clue how checkstands operate came up with the bright idea of having the checker scan it, put it on another belt, where another employee bags it. Handled TWICE. And this store NEVER has 1:1 checker/bagger. Today there were FIVE checkers, and ONE bagger. Fred Meyer continues its increasing abuse of plastic. Too many instances to write here.

This was carefully sliced thin, packaged, and wrapped carefully, which was duly noted and greatly appreciated. We paused at window counter seats and had to sample the purchase before departing. Absolutely delicious! Helped elevate a meal the next day too. I may have to return to indulge in one of their Italian sandwiches. Update: we did return to dine onsite at the same window counter seats (6/22/25). The Homie had the Hot Meatball ($14). Meaty with zesty sauce. I had the Salami Panini ($12), which reminded me of a fave Italian panini at Irwin's Bakery & Cafe in Seattle.
