Tasty cheese burger, packed with flavor and the special sauce. The price could be better for what you get, but I normally only get the milk shakes and their oversized ice cream cones. That's where you get a good deal for your buck. I don't expect a lot from here, it's place that hires teens so as long as the food is cooked hot and it's clean I'm happy. Delicious Old school dairy style burger joint. That means Mayo burgers, from scratch onion rings, patty melts and shakes. One doesn't find a true student of the "dairy treat" burger, a memory from away football games, and any other traveling at school functions where they sidle up to a Dairy Dans( or some such place) for food. Husband and I stopped by on a road trip. He really enjoyed the double cheeseburger and fries. I got a Chicken strips and fries, with a small apple pie shake. The apple pie shake was delish! The fries were cooked perfectly, and so were the chicken strips however there was so much salt put on the chicken strips that I ended up tossing them after two bite. The fries also had a bit more seasoning salt than was necessary but I didn't want all of money to go to waste so I dealt with it. Husband would order a burger from them again, but I would highly suggest asking for no salt to be added. read more

Best Pit Stop for lunch on the I-5 between Seattle and Portland! Cheeseburger is good but the Grilled Cheese Sandwich is where it's at!!! According to my grilled cheese expert this is the best grilled cheese in the US! The fries and onions rings are fantastic!! They were out of Halibut, so got chicken strips w/ fries and another w/ onion rings. Service took nearly 20 minutes, waiting in parking lot, meal gets delivered- no onion rings no dipping sauce no ketchup. No price refund for the difference of onion rings to fries. If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband went to Dairy Dan's to pick up lunch for our family. The staff working was incredibly rude. The food was very disappointing. Our son's cheeseburger was burnt. The fries were overcooked and mushy, just full of oil and basically inedible. The chicken strips were dry and the dipping sauce didn't help remedy it. The bearcat was just ok, not flavorful or juicy like a good burger should be. Definitely not worth the money we paid to have lunch here. We will not come back. read more

Although I would love to give a small business my support, I just cant with this place. Every time we go there, we are charged differently for the same exact order. I asked why at some point and a lady dismissed me by saying no, we dont charge different prices. The kids that work there are rude high school kids who give attitude when I dont tip. (I only tip people who serve me at a table) which makes it a VERY UNCOMFORTABLE and awkward sale. We went yesterday (my daughter loves it, otherwise I would not go) and it was so refreshing to get a sweet girl at the window! She has EXCELLENT customer service and is far better than anyone I've seen there! So, I called to speak with the manager about the sweet girl and her friendly attitude... after waiting for the manager for a few minutes, they hung up on me! It was so evident they get many calls for the manager, and they obviously didn't want to deal with who they thought was an unhappy customer. A TIP FOR DAIRY DANS... Pay a higher wage to gain employees who care about your business! read more

This place double charged my card for 2 shakes. I kept looking for an electronic receipt and saw when I got home, the double charged. I called asking to speak to the manager and 2 different people claimed to be the manager but neither would give me their name which I insisted on to report the overcharge. The female refused to give me her name and hung up on me. It appears to be a shady and dishonest establishment, so I can't recommend. Fortunately, my bank stopped payment. read more

One of the dirtiest restaurant I have ever been!! I really wanted to give more than one star but unfortunately I don't think it is possible. My husband and I are taking a road trip and we wanted to try something local. The food is just the average. There is nothing special about the burgers and fries. For the shake, I can give four stars but that is all. The restroom had dirty floor, overflow sink and restroom and main restaurant's trash can. There were paper towel on the floor since the trash can was totally full. I wonder how many hour the restroom haven't been cleaned since most of customers go to the drive through. The tables and floor were full of crumbs, specially the table and seats. When our food came, I asked for mustard and the woman gave me those typical (no brand) mustards container which was very very dirty. It was totally clogged, full of dust on top of it and very old crusty mustard all around. See pictures attached. Seriously? How can you guys offer such a dirty place for customers to eat? Services was very poor. Young girl at window slammed window in my face while I was talking. I honked horn to get her attention was informed I needed to drive around corner so she could wait in person behind me. I said I would like an extra sauce like I always get and she rudely said that would be an extra .50 cents. I told I have never been charged extra and I come in a couple times a week. I just had pd 1975 for a delux burger. Fries and med drink I should be able to get two sauces. She told me she didn't care. So much for supporting small town business. I stopped by for dinner with family and friends as we took part in STP this weekend. It was a great find and the perfect meal after a long day of riding! I got their special, a 1/4 lb hamburger with fries and a milkshake. The burger was tasty, the fries were yummy and I enjoyed their version of fry sauce. I got a chocolate Oreo milkshake. I ordered a root beer milkshake and the milkshake came out with zero root beer flavor. When I asked for a different milkshake the girl working told me to pull back up front and order a new one - meaning I would have to pay for another milkshake. They refused to replace my flavorless root beer milkshake, it might as well have been vanilla. And also the burger kinda sucked too.. definitely not worth the price. Dairy Dan opened under new ownership I believe earlier this year, and it shows in the way the building has been repainted on the outside and inside. If you're in the mood for a great milkshake or burger, this is the spot. As previous reviewers have noted, the soft-serve ice cream is what makes this place famous. The menu is very large for a place that comfortably seats around 40. You can walk in or drive-up and order from the window. The food is greasy, but the menu is pretty big for such a tiny little shack. The real reason everyone I know stops here, however, is the "junior" ice cream cone. It's a soft-serve marvel. I always get the twist. It costs about a buck and is ENORMOUS. Value, people, is extraordinary. Driving through? Pull off I-5 and get thee some frozen goodness. The food here is "eh"... the burgers are nothing special, even with their "special" sauce. I'd rather go to Red Robin or In and Out (however there aren't any around). A friend of mine got the coney dog and the thing was shriveled, as though it were a few days old. The fries were just okay... the onion rings were much better! But for $4, I'd rather make my own. However, the shakes are really good and the reason why I'd give this place three stars. Even being lactose intolerant, I'd gladly pay the price to sip one down every once in a while. The soft serve is pretty good too! The amount of flying insects in the place is a little worrisome... but lets just assume it's because they have a back door open somewhere?!
