Turkey bacon avocado sandwich on sourdough

This place is cute and very old hometown feel to it. The sandwich was great and very filling. Classic fries were perfectly crispy. They give 4 oz sauce portions which is amazing and not very common in most places. Service was good.

If you want some good old fashioned American diner food, look no further. Came here with a group of 5 on the way to the Bellingham airport. It's a few miles off the freeway, and it was pretty darn busy for a Monday morning. There is a large amount of seating and the 5 of us were able to sit pretty comfortably in one of their bigger booths. I ordered the French toast combo, which includes "3 pieces" of French toast, sausage, bacon and 3 eggs for $12.99. This was a huge meal! The 3 pieces turn into 6 half slices, and with the additional food it was a LOT of food! They cooked my eggs well (medium over) and I shared the meats with the bf who got biscuits and gravy with eggs. The portions are generous as is the price. Everyone was satisfied with their order and the service.

Okay. Some friends love this place, but I wonder if it's just because there's really not that much in Ferndale. In 2023, prices are on the lower side of what I consider reasonable, which means yay! No $25 burgers here! But - you do get what you pay for. My burger was fine - nothing special. It is a good solid patty, but other than that, my "cajun burger" had a slice of barely melted cheese and some pickled jalapenos on top. I have been told other burgers are better, but meh, I wouldn't be itching to go back unless someone else wanted to. Service is fine - it wasn't that busy but there was only one person on. It was pretty slow and one of the things we asked for were forgotten - bacon on a burger. At least it wasn't on the bill, but it was sort of frustrating since we had to wait another 10-15 min for her to come back so I could get some vinegar for my fries and let her know about the bacon. It has the potential to be a cool townie pub, but it's sort of unclear if you can order booze in the restaurant area, and overall everything was okay. Ferndale needs more stuff up there, so I'm glad there's something, but I would probably go to a food truck down the street before coming here again.

Lil Cedars - not so little!

Solid local diner, food. I can only speak to their breakfast, but a homemade biscuit really shows the quality of a restaurant and Cedars is doing a great job. Very kind staff and attentive. Cool local diner vibe for sure. The place was full on a mid Monday morning... But not too full for you to feel taken care of! Well done.

This was the French Toast special! It was huge!

We went to Cedar's for breakfast because well, there wasn't many other choices on Labor Day. The place was super crowded supposedly because that day, the other breakfast place was closed. We ordered the French Toast Special and Egg dish plus a Belgian Waffle. The service was amazing, Savannah was great inspite of the fact that it was very crowed! The food was a solid 4 stars if not 5. We certainly would recommend going to Cedar's for breakfast! Not sure about the food for other times of the day!

Lil Cedars Special with sausage links. The menu said one biscuit, but I could swear there were actually two.

I did a Google search for "breakfast" while traveling and came across this place. I picked the Lil Cedars Special because I was craving some biscuits and gravy. I walked in and sat myself at the bar. The restaurant was very busy because it was brunch time, but everyone who works there seemed in a good mood. They did a great job working the dining room and the vibes were very good. The food took a little longer to come out because of how busy they were, so if you come in a rush this won't be a match for you. It was worth waiting for! I especially liked the hash browns. The sausage links were substantial and juicy. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to go back.

More room to breathe in the lounge today.

Best breakfast in Ferndale by a large margin. Be prepared to wait if you go on the weekend.

Food very good! The reason for the low review was that they allowed a customer to be served in the main dining room with a non service dog.

They happily put the game on when we asked and were very attentive throughout our visit, which made a great first impression. I ordered the burger with bacon and blue cheese and requested no condiments. I think there may have been some confusion in the kitchen, as the garnishes were left off as well, but our server promptly brought them out when asked. Unfortunately, the burger itself was overcooked and lacked flavor. The ciabatta roll was only partially toasted, and overall the dish fell a bit flat. The fries, however, were excellent hot, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and absolutely delicious. I don't usually like coated fries, but these were a home run. My dining partner ordered the BLT and said the sandwich was great overall. We also shared the mozzarella sticks appetizer. They were a bit different from traditional mozzarella sticks, thicker cheese with a heavier breading. While they were good, I felt the order should have included six instead of four. Overall, even though we were one of only two tables in the restaurant, we had a great lunch, thanks largely to the excellent service.

The bacon was okay, the eggs tasted like they might have been reconstituted, the English muffin was tough, but the white toast was excellent, thickly cut and toasted just right. The fruit and coffee were both okay. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, and really tried hard to make sure we had what we needed. Service was definitely the highlight. The restaurant was clean and though there were lots of people there it wasn't too noisy. I was surprised to see how worn the booth seating was. It was convenient and quick, which fit our morning plans, but we decided to try other spots in town for the rest of our meals.

We had such a wonderful experience that we came back to celebrate our anniversary three years in a row. Funny enough, we always seem to get seated in the same booth and have had the pleasure of the same great service each time. The COVID years were the only time we didn't go. Tip: Order the tomahawk to share--it's the best dish hands down on the menu, in my opinion. The fat is perfectly charred, and the meat just melts in your mouth. Tip #2: Get the crème brûlée for dessert--you won't regret it. Must order: Brussels sprouts appetizer, green salad, Caesar for two, and the New York steak. Skip: Ribeye steak, escargot, and the seafood tower. Before the main courses, they provide a palate cleanser, which is a really nice touch. Reservations are recommended, but I've seen people walk in after an evening at the casino and get a table with only a short wait. There's a bar nearby where you can grab a drink while you wait.

I decided to try it on a Tuesday. Arrived during the hottest day of the year so far to find a nice cool, clean, classy interior. Was immediately greeted by a friendly hostess who seated me immediately. Restaurant was moderately quiet. Water and menu obtained, I perused the choices and decided Pizza was the thing. The pizza prices were a bit on the high side for a franchise place but the descriptions were promising with some interesting ingredients. Then I spotted it on the bottom of the menu...the Fig Pig. How could I not try it! About 15 minutes later it arrived, I took the first bite and Oh My Lord...when they redo the menu, it needs to be at the top. This is my new favorite pizza in Bellingham. Salty, crispy, meaty and sweet. It hits all the hot buttons. The crust is actually tasty, the pork is perfectly done. It was freaking delicious. Even better, once I finished half the pizza...it was that good...and a box and the check were delivered...the pizza was half off. I called the hostess over to ask if it was a mistake and she said all pizzas are half off on Tuesdays. I now know my Tuesday dinners. I've told a bunch of people now and will be taking my neighbors next Tuesday. Oh and turns out it's not a franchise but a family run restaurant.and it was staring me in the face the entire time. In the words of Arnold Schwarzenegger...I'll be back.
