An amazing oasis in Issaquah. Huge lounge with beautiful retro furniture and huge televisions for watching film or sports upon request. The smash burgers are incredible and the martinis large. What a delightful and intimate experience! Scheduled a girls' night on a weekday and only 2 others had scheduled so the 5 of us essentially had the theater to ourselves. There is spacious seating and tables out by the bar. We ordered food prior and drinks at the bar to bring them into the theater room (or there was an option for them to be brought in with our food). The attached tables at the seats are tiny as others have mentioned so I wouldn't recommend ordering more than 1 item during the show if you want to have room to keep it at your seat. We each ordered a burger (I opted for the plant-based one with a side salad) and it was delicious, flavorful, and filling. Slightly messy but napkins and utensils were provided. We had selected seats in front of the projector room. The seats were comfortable and because of the theater size, you can't go wrong with any spot. Will happily go back! read more

Came here to see the Taylor Swift eras tour movie. They had themed drinks which was fun. Food was good, but messy. The seats have small swivel tables but I found it difficult to eat my app and entree. They don't really come back to grab dishes, so if you ordered for a second drink delivery, you might not have somewhere to put it. Any food or drink you want during the movie you can go back out to the counter to get, or they will take your order for delivery 30 or 60 mins into the movie. Seats were comfortable, screen and sound was good. It's a fun hometown vibe theater. I'd come back just to sit in the bar and eat. 21+ only space! read more

Cutting corners will cost you and it is apparent at Big Picture. The most glaringly obvious cost was putting red vines in glass cup yet charging more than the amount of them to be in a container. Immediately felt sick after eating them, clearly no sanitary measures taken with these. Would recommend to steer clear and just go to AMC. Gave us sprite after throwing up the red vines but still not a great experience since both of us got sick. read more

SO forget everything you know about movie theaters and head over to The Big Picture. This is a spectacular venue and literally one of my favorite places ever. It's a must visit stop on any trip to Seattle. The theater itself is small but spacious and there's not a bad seat in the house. Front row in particular, normally shunned by theater goers is particularly comfy with the addition of tufted ottomans. Here you can order food and booze that can be delivered to you in your seat at a predetermined time during the performance. You can also have their truffle infused popcorn or THE ABSOLUTE BEST HAMBURGER I have ever eaten. They have a bar, comfy chairs and couches that offer the perfect opportunity to chill before a performance and enjoy some great food & drink. The only drawback is the availability of seating because they do sell out quickly but if you're looking for something really cool to do and are a movie and food fan, I can't possibly give them a higher recommendation. It was well with the $100 in Uber rides to get there from my hotel and I'll be sure to be back soon. read more

It feels safe, cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a date night. The service is excellent. I love the inviting space of their lounge. Anyone can enjoy drinks and smash burgers whether you're seeing a movie or not. Drinks were good and their truffle butter popcorn is just the best. I'd go there just for that!! We had a gift certificate from our daughters (they'd gifted us during Christmas Covid, so we weren't able to use it) The Belltown location closed down but they are now open in Issaquah and we finally made it up there. I was nervous about how old the certificate was but they were so gracious. Really nice and welcoming and aesthetic atmosphere. So not only is it a movie theatre but they serve food and have a full bar. Their smashburger was amazing. It is made with waygu beef and it was delicious. Great bun to meat ratio and crisp lettuce and just perfect. It came with tots or chips and of course we chose the tots and they were great. They have a a special sauce that I could eat like soup. Kind of a twist on a classic burger sauce - zesty and perfectly acidic and just delicious. The theater is small and intimate. We got truffle butter and white cheddar popcorn - a combo and it was really delicious. And .... Best part for me was a bodhizafa ipa on draft. So if you're looking for a fun and different movie experience, this is a great spot to try out for a date or something special. And old downtown is really fun to walk around too. read more

If you've ever been to iPic in Redmond - this place will be a disappointment in many ways. The pricing is about the same, the food is MUCH better for the $$$ you're paying @ iPIC, and the seats are SO much better. (But - you have to drive to Redmond, so that could be a negative for some). The things we liked about this place: **Smash burger was good (waffle fries were horrible) **Popcorn with cheese dust & truffle butter was outstanding. **Lounge are is super cute. **Staff was very friendly and customer-service oriented. We spent just under $300 (including tickets), and for us, the overall experience wasn't worth it here. And in a few areas it felt like 'gouging.' You can definitely come here and spend much less. It's a convenient option to have for those of us who lives in or near Issaquah, I suppose. But we'll probably continue to visit other options on the east side. read more

The Big Picture is a welcome addition to downtown Issaquah! A one screen theater, the Big Picture allows patrons to reserve seats in advance of upcoming show times. Their movie theater has just over 30 comfy seats limited to those 21 and up. When you walk in, the lounge atmosphere is awesome. The bar area has nice seating from couches to tables, a few TVs, and a full service bar. Drinks are movie themed and I recommend the "atomic blonde" cocktail. When you order your first round of concessions, you are offered a mid-movie preorder. We went to see Batman, which had two in-movie services, presumably due to the length of the film. We didn't try the food, but several others appeared to really enjoy the popcorn. Looking forward to going back to the Big Picture! read more

Wow I am impressed with Big Picture. The lobby/bar resembles a fancy hotel with comfortable and elegant furniture, gorgeous new carpet, fine cocktails, and artwork from all over the world. The food and beverage menu is innovative and tasteful. When you get into the theatre you feel as though you just stepped into a comfortable home-theater with a top-of-the-line sound system. My husband and I will be coming back many times. I have no idea how a business turns what this place used to be into what it is now, but dang they did it well! This beautifully detailed theater is exactly what Issaquah needed- entertainment for adults that is not *just* food and drinks. And it's a bonus and pleasure to support small, local businesses. Not your typical movie theater! Amazing movie house with an intimate, "exclusive" vibe without feeling too high-brow. Limited menu but what they do offer is all on-point. The lounge is comfortable with an art-deco aesthetic; it's worth stopping in just for drinks and snacks even if you don't stay to see a film. Since it's a single-screen they will only show one film at a time, and it only seats about 30 so it's highly recommended to pre-purchase tickets via their website. We got a burger, grilled cheese and shared tots for $35 and it was overpriced for what you get. "Fancy" burger & Grilled cheese presented in a basket like a burger shack on the side of the road and tater tots were cold. For the price should include tots or salad or something. Staff/Atmosphere ~ Music was so loud we could barely have a conversation sitting side by side and we were the only ones there besides the owners, their guests and other staff. We felt like the staff was snatching up our dishes before we had a chance to even set them down. Very kind and had good humor but still unsettling. It had such great potential. But they fell short. The burgers weren't bad. The sides are not so good. The drink pours were very shallow. But the most important lack is the service. They made a mistake with me, and tried to gaslight me into believing they didn't forget to bring me my food. Ha! lol First, they said they already brought it while I was out there asking .... then said it would come soon. So an hour and 15 minutes into the show there it was and they still didn't own up to a mistake or try to give me any compensation for that. When I asked for something like a glass of wine, they brought me a glass of peanut M&Ms. Don't like peanut M&Ms. Also, the chairs are very squeaky and could disrupt the movie throughout the theater periodically. But again, mostly... The service. That's why we're paying more for a theater like that, and I was highly disappointed. This was my second visit to the theater and my second poor experience. Just wow! This place is just amazing. First of all, it's not one of those huge, cavernous theaters where at times, things are just too big. The theater is intimate but before you think "ok, intimate is fine if I want to watch The Remains of the Day" but not something loud like "Top Gun: Maverick" think again. I was lucky enough to be given a private screening of 3 different trailers just so I could check out the sound. The theater is live!! Sound bounces are the right times but never so much that you want to bring earplugs. You can feel the sound in your bones. And it's a clear sound, no distortions. Add to that The Big Picture's list of cool drinks and tasty Smashburgers... this is going to my my "go-to" theater from here on out! read more

I had a vision of how I wanted to propose. A while ago, my then girlfriend had once turned to me on the couch and said 'I think one of my absolute favorite things to do is to come home after work, sit down with you, have a glass of wine and watch a movie'. So my vision was to surprise her with a candlelit movie theater just for us. And Big Picture made that vision a reality; they made that special day just absolutely perfect. The theater is owned by some of the most earnest and rare people you will meet, Mark and Katie. As soon as Mark heard my idea, he was already coming with the beats of how it would all go down; what we would say, how we would enter. His improv chops from back in Chicago roared to life haha! We practiced every move we'd make upon my future fiancé and my entrance, how he'd casually say 'oh you're a little early, we open in just a few minutes, but you might want to just head in the theater early to grab seats'. Mark and his wife had come in and opened much earlier than normal and had helped my sister and mom set up tea lights, large battery candles, champagne, special truffle cheddar popcorn the theater made in a champagne bucket, a dolly cart of charcuterie, flower petals, the works! Katie even timed the music perfectly to start as we walked into the theater. I proposed, she said yes (whew!) and after much embracing, Mark came in to pop the champagne. He even made specialty cocktails for us during the film (he made an impromptu killer spicy marg for Rachel). And afterwards told me HE had trouble sleeping the night before! He did and he's not even the one proposing haha! Needless to say, even if the theater wasn't incredible and cool and boutique, go there for Mark and Katie. But the thing is the theater and space IS incredible and cool and boutique! They have a lounge full of beautiful antique furniture, a cocktail bar straight out of a speakeasy, and theater that Mark personally oversaw the construction of with the help of two Dolby engineers. This place is an absolute gem that I'm so glad we found. Do yourself a favor and grab tickets here to watch the next big summer movie. I know we'll be back!
