Celebrity Smiles is a great Dental practice. The hygienists are effective and friendly, and the dentists are caring. I have never had any trouble getting an appointment. The new office is spotless, and state of the art. They have moved from the front building of the office park in Flourtown to the back building, so it is even more modest & spacious than before! My sister and I went for whitening today and we were impressed with the results! I have had mine done professionally before, but with different product and methods. This was surprisingly comfortable and I wasn't left with the painful sensitivity I had experienced in the past. A huge thank you to Dr. Mehta for coming to my rescue last night and quickly answering my SOS on a horrible tooth ache that come on rapidly! Dr. Mehta answered my late Friday night call, located the closest 24 pharmacy to my house, and immediately called in scripts! I felt better within a hour of calling him! Horrible Business. OK Dentist but horrible staff... Trust me and the other bad reviews on here. If you research this business you will find that they have hired a few online reputation fixers to post good reviews of their business and that should tell you all you need to know. My top highlights from this place are: 1.While I was disputing a charge that they doubled the cost on, I was told "Why would you schedule appointment if you can't afford it?" I have more than enough money in bank account I just was questioning the legitimacy of the bill. 2. They told me insurance "should cover most of it." Then 25% of the way through all the procedures I ran out of insurance. I wasn't able to complete the most important procedures and the final bill was 175% more than they estimated to only complete 50% of the work. 3. They ran my credit card without my authorization. And when questioned about it they LIED LIED LIED. First lie was that I was set up for automatic payments, there was only one payment made with many months of no charges made. After I told them that they were lieing they changed their reason to , "I told them that if they can't get a hold of me, It's ok to run my card." Does that sound like anything anyone would say ever? Save yourself the aggravations and avoid this place. read more

I'm genuinely not understanding the 2 bad reviews on here. I switched form a very well known dentistry in center city to something fairly close to home. As soon as I transferred over I felt nothing but welcomed arms. This practice is not only beautiful, but the staff is amazing. Just today, I had probably the best hygienist that I've had thus far. Any questions/concerns I had she was so attentive with and really cared. Dr. Mehta has helped me with proceeding with my Invisalign and like I said they really do care about your concerns. After being a patient of nearly 15 years ... and enduring repeated billing problems and a generally unpleasant office staff, but generally competent dentistry, my husband had a recent disastrous experience that led us both to leave the practice. Dr. Mehta failed to inform him of a risk in a routine procedure AND failed to recognize obvious signs of complication on two follow up visits. When, after nearly a month of back and forth, my husband was in excruciating pain and called YET again, he was told they were reluctant to put him on the schedule because we had a balance on our account ... yes we did ...we HAD NOT yet paid the co pay for the work that had left my husband unable to sleep or eat! When my husband asked what they suggested he do, he was told to go to an emergency room. The emergency room!! Needless to say, he sought a second opinion ... which was where he learned that he should have been informed of the risk factors and that it was extremely obvious what was causing his pain was root damage from the work performed ... Dr. Mehta had filed the filling then added more filling ... something that shocked the second dentist. My husband had to have a root canal as a result of the negligence, costing us hundreds of additional dollars. Obviously we won't be going back and I would suggest anyone considering this practice think again! read more

They provided me with the most thorough cleaning of my life, were extremely nice and gentle and actually read my patient form and asked me questions about my answers. My first visit to this office was just fine as the dental hygienist was very nice and friendly and the technology was state of the art. Then I went back for another cleaning and a new hygienist proved to be not only unfriendly but verged on being abusive. I was completely shocked by this as I have never experienced this type of behavior in a professional office. Here's why: She was somewhat cold and commanding from the start, and she clearly had an agenda toward moving me in the direction of getting an implant.I'm sure that she was following office protocol, but it was her stern manner that was upsetting. So she presented a video to me on why I should do so and seemed very incensed when I did not comply with her request. She was mean and nasty to me by virtue of her expressions and manner, and I was shocked by it. The entire time I stayed calm and quietly but briefly answered her questions, hoping that she would notice my unease in her presence. However it was clear that she could not care less about me and what my thoughts were and she dismissed me and walked out of the room to get the doctor. Here's my point: I believe the doctors are good but the staff is completely out of line if even one staff member is allowed to misbehave and disrespect a patient to such a degree. The fact is that I'm sure that they are right that I should get an implant. The tooth, by the way, is situated in the very back of the mouth and you don't even see it. But I should never be bullied into it or treated so poorly - especially since I have had this recommendation before in other dentist offices and we always had a nice, calm conversation concerning it. The doctor should never hand over that much power to a hygienist or coworker that allows them to disrepect a patient in any way shape or form EVER. So It is clear that unless you conform with their agenda and do what they want, then you are not to be valued as a patient by them. At this point I can't wait to get back to a dentist office where they are genuinely nice and polite - that is what I am used to and that is what I expect. read more

I really appreciate having a dentist such a Dr. Rothbart (hope that's spelled correctly), he shows his passion in dentistry every time he sees me. He even fixed an issue that was only related partially to dentistry which was my sleep apnia. He advised a mouth guard which actually almost nullified my sleep apnia problem as well as getting my teeth to stop grinding against each other. read more

The dentists are Celebrity Smiles, Flourtown are fine. The staff is awful. The front desk person sits behind a partial wall that needs to come down, and needs to interrupt her own conversations and acknowledge clients even if she already knows they have an appointment. I totally agree with Jerrie B. Read her post as she has spelled it out perfectly. I've since moved to a dentistry office where all staff and dentists are Professional, Courteous, and Knowledgable. I've been going to dentists for over 50 years and have never experienced the kind of ignorance and nastiness exhibited by the workers of this office. Make your own assessment. read more

I have never been treated poorly so by a "professional" medical practice. First, I went in as a new patient for a check up and cleaning which is covered by my insurance. The practice billed me without doing the cleaning and told me to make another appointment to have the cleaning done and for Dr. Mehta to take care of 2 cavities. I arrived for that appointment and they told me that they can't do a cleaning without first performing a perio procedure (not covered by insurance). Plus, the dentist wasn't even in the office to keep my appointment. When I expressed my dissatisfaction, and asked for my records, I was treated so rudely by the office manager who then threatened me that if I did not leave, she would call the police! I was in no way being threatening myself - just upset that the Doctor was a no-show and they wouldn't give me my records. Unprofessional - go elsewhere. read more

Michelle, the office manager is always polite, professional, and goes out of her way to accommodate my schedule when making appointments. The hygienists I see is thorough and seems to go out of her way to make sure I am comfortable and informed. The doctors are very nice and patient as well. read more
