5 stars is directly for the Cortaro Location. Thornydale? Not so much. The Thornydale store took clients from Cortaro. I'm one of those clients. I have a lower level commercial tanning bed at home. I like to use Celebrity Tan for bronzing/darkening or just boosting my tan for events/trips. I'm a Journalist, I travel so a membership isn't right for me. I came in for a single tan and silicone bronzer, I inquired about any specials etc... The girl upfront told me about a free tan with a face lotion purchase and a free week of tanning with the purchase of certain body lotions. I asked, and clarified a few times with her to ensure that the bottles I chose were silicone. (No, I didn't take time to read each ingredient; that's why I asked her opinion and advice, and low on time.) Bottom line... both lotions were not silicone. Considering the pricing structure at salons of this caliber (Celebrity Tan to be specific in this case), I do expect a certain level of awareness/knowledge of the entire product line they sell. It's a fair expectation I believe. I noticed the lotions weren't silicone when I put the lotion on immediately, it wasn't smooth like I know silicone to be in tanning products, and I've used tons. I left for my Convention to Miami that evening. I'm launching my own news network here in Tucson, my interviews are high profile, so I like to look and feel my best when on camera. (I still haven't used my one week free yet.) I paid around $110.00 for lotions I used once and won't use again. I listed them on eBay for a loss. I think this location of employees is in need of product knowledge and customer retention education, in my opinion. I'll reiterate, I loved the Cortaro location and staff. Too bad they didn't transfer with the clientele. I'll go in today to start my free week and use my silicone bronzers I ordered on tan2day.com. I'm sure the tanning beds are terrific, the one I used there so far was excellent. The tan experience is always great. The beds/rooms are super clean and tidy. There have never been any bulbs out that I've experienced, I assume this is due to responsible and routine maintenance. Honestly, it's the staffs maturity/knowledge that are not up to the standard of Celebrity Tans quality. I suspect it's the age of employees that could contribute to this issue. I know their image is young, beautiful and tan. It pays though to invest in quality over image. Thanks for reading my experience. read more

Laura was a breath of fresh air. She gave me the run down on all the tanning packages without a hard sell push, that made me feel more comfy to tan. It is a bit pricey and they do want you to sign up for 3 mo. but, you are able to do a daily bed that's clean and provides a sun kissed tan. Enjoy read more

Seems like I am dollar short and a day late doing business with them. I wanted to sign up for 1 month to get some color but because it was 10/15 and not 10/14 I had to sign up for two months. In late Nov I called to cancel since I was out of town and was told I had to do it in person...of course I have to do it person!! Lol I came in 12/2 and was told because I didn't cancel by 11/30 I had to pay for a 3rd month. You guys got me!!! I wanted only 1 month but you got me for 3!!! Good job! read more

Too bad I can't give this place a NEGATIVE star! They ruined my wedding!!!! I'm angry! I'm in tears and I wouldn't recommend this HORRIBLE place!!!!! We came in to spray tan, paid for with a Groupon, the girl we talked to a few days ago gave us the complete run down of what to expect, what to do to prepare, and set us up feeling confident and r easy to be bronze on my special day. Tonight we come in here and the girl behind the counter was awful! We got all checked in and ready to go, and she then rings up $16 and some change each! Wait, what? No we have a Groupon. She proceeds to tell us that the Groupon is only for a "light" spray medium and dark are extra! The girl the other day NEVER mentioned that, and NOWHERE on the Groupon does it say that, we even had her read through the ENTIRE fine print and she also said it did not indicate the level of spray tan! She then called her manager and rudely told her that we were refusing to pay extra, and we want a refund. ITS MY WEDDING Saturday morning! It is now 8pm on Thursday-we are leaving town first thing tomorrow morning, at the advise of this chick the other day we were told to wait until the last minute and now I can't tan and I'm so so so mad!!! Horrible company, horrible customer service, horrible establishment! I will NEVER return to this company again! SHAME ON YOU CELEBRITY TANNING! I hope your business dies!!! read more

I have to change my two star to a one star review all based on service and business practices. I called to cancel my membership months ago, the membership I originally mentioned in my first review. The person in the phone told me I would have yo come in to cancel (recurring membership debited on my credit card every month) I let her know it is COVID, I am moving and it is unacceptable I was not able to cancel a membership I pay for ever month over the phone. She reluctantly said she canceled the membership and my credit card would not be charged the filling month. Fast forward 2 month later and two more charges, three more phone calls and the last call by my husband with the manager this 'recurring' charge was finally cancelled. Wasted money, wasted time and a company that clearly wants to trap you in a 'membership' and make it so time consuming and difficult to get out of it is very easy to let it go. I have been going to tanning salons for over 20 years all over the country and this business, their business model and practices are the worst I have experienced. The actual tanning beds and spray tanning is fine but I would never recommend or give a penny to this business based on customer service. read more

Since they moved to the location from the Cortaro location I've had many issues with price fluctuations no matter even if I get the same exact thing as I always do. The price is never the same and when I ask no one seems to know why or have a valid answer. I've always liked celebrity Tanning however at this location the staff are not well trained to solve or fix issues when they arise. When I've asked for a manager I'm always told there isn't one there. I really wish this location would invest more in their staff training! read more

After trying several tanning salons, I bought a Groupon to try Celebrity Tanning's level one tanning bed. I went to their Cortaro location, which is closing in just a couple days) and was very impressed. Jacqueline helped me when I arrived, and she was very friendly and helpful. She helped me figure out how many minutes to start at, and explained the packages available if I want a membership after my Groupon expires. Jacqueline walked me to the room, explained how they clean everything between clients, and showed me how to operate the bed. The equipment and rooms looked very clean and well kept, which had been a problem for me at other tanning salons. I can't wait to try the new location on Thornydale! I was so happy with my experience that I immediately bought a Groupon for my husband to try it at well. If the experience continues to be as positive as today was, I will be purchasing a membership at the end! read more
