I'm sure there are a couple good stylists here. I just didn't get one. I explained how I wanted my hair cut and we discussed my hair color. She seemed to have understood but she didn't. The back of my head looks the same and the front isn't much different. The best part was when I had to take the hairbrush (which was badly worn and old) and the blow dryer out of her hands and dry my own hair. As if that wasn't enough, when I got to the register, she said, "So, do you think you're coming back?" I just paid them and got out of there. No. I'm not going back. read more

Made an appointment a week in advance. The weather was extremely cold and windy so I called 40 minutes before my appointment to confirm and was told, yes, we'll see you then. I get there at 3:30 and notice 2 stylist and both are busy with customers. I have a seat and after about 15 minutes she comes over and tells me that she is running a little behind. I wait. 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time the other stylist comes to me and states that "my stylist needs to fix the front of her clients hair so it's gonna be at least another 15 minutes. I say, I'm sorry but I just can't wait any longer, I have things to do. Her response "well I can reschedule your appointment". Zero consideration for the time that it took me to drive there in bad weather conditions and the hour of my wasted time sitting there. So unprofessional. read more

I came here for a massage after getting coupon in the mail for new clients. I definitely would recommend. Staff was very friendly on the phone when scheduling and they also called the day before to remind me. My massage therapist was Diane. She was friendly and asked questions prior to starting to get my preferences. I liked the heated bed and felt comfortable with the ambiance of the room. She had soft music playing. This place is the worst. My mom & sister went togther with an advanced reservation. They went and came home throughly disappointed. They were going for a pedicure, she soaked their feet. Then used a brush on their feet. After which she did a paraffin wax but had them share their wax. First my mom's foot, then not cleaning it, or changing anything slid it over and dipped my sister's foot. She used rubber gloves to remove their wax & bagged it up. (Never throwing it out, concerned it was going to be put back in and reused) painted the girls nails and tossed them out. Never used the toe separator. They had paper towels stuffed in between their toes, given the standard generic flip flop, and told to not slip down the stairs on an icy snowy night. Never allowing the girls to let their feet dry or even put their shoes & socks back on. Out into the frigid icy snowy weather they were sent. read more

My sister and I went both had an eyebrow wax (fab) and a 10 minute chair massage by Robert (even better). Robert was so nice and his fingers so magic that I booked an hour massage with him two days later. Since I had not had a massage with him before, there was a 40% discount. Yay! The massage was seriously awesome. I had never been massaged by a guy before (well, professionally) and Robert made me feel so comfortable that it was a total non-issue. And honestly, I think his hands were far stronger which made for a better experience overall. I'm a definite Dude Masseuse convert. I'm also the chatty type, so a totally silent massage session would be odd to me. Robert was genuinely interesting and engaging, which I appreciated. No "uh huh's" or "mmm hmm's" here. I just had my first appointment at Celestine Salon recently and was VERY impressed. The environment of the salon is very cozy and friendly, especially during the holiday season. The stylists and staff members are very friendly and seem to all get along with each other very well, which made for a fun experience. I had a woman's cut and eyebrow wax with Felicia. I have thin hair, so I tend to be particular about my cuts. She did exactly what I asked and it turned out better than I expected. They eyebrow was was done perfectly and quickly. Celestine's did the hair and makeup for my wedding for myself, eight of my bridesmaids, two of my flower girls, the two mothers, and one aunt.. For a total of FOURTEEN women! .... And they did an EXCELLENT job! The staff was extremely accommodating, and worked with my sister (the maid of honor) very well in trying to schedule out the morning for all of us and to be ready in time for the wedding! ... Everyone was getting their hair done, but only a few were doing make up, and then about 3 of those were doing air brush... So yeah, it was quite a feat scheduling us all in! They even came in early, before the salon opens to accommodate us better. The space itself was also PERFECT for us! They had a nice lounge area in the front of the salon, and the space around the hairdressers was spacious enough for people to walk through. They even have an entire downstairs are with a fridge and such - which was perfect for the two little girls who were getting restless all morning and needed to rest up. They even provided a nice table for us to bring in food and drinks to munch on. Before the wedding, I had never been here before besides doing my wedding trial, so I can't comment on their other services, but I know all my girls, and myself thought they did a great job with our hair and makeup... and with how professional and accommodating they were for us on the biggest day of my life, I have no doubt that their everyday services are just as great! read more

I got my hair and makeup done by the lovely ladies of Celestine at the last wedding I stood up in. My friend was able to have them come out to her house so we were able to relax and hang out while getting ready for the big day. I definitely recommend this if you're planning on getting married! They did both hair and makeup on the bride, six bridesmaids, and the mothers. Everyone looked beautiful. The only slight issue was that they told her they would be sending two makeup girls and they only sent one. This caused us to be running just a little late to the ceremony but that can be expected. I set up an appointment with Ciarra a couple of weeks ago. She was nice, but did NOT do what I asked at all. I asked for icy blonde (my hair was already almost there, just needed to be brightened) and I walked out with ash gray. When I got home, I saw in the lighting my hair looked straight gray. I messaged her and she said to use shampoo to get that gray toner out. I also asked her to get me blonde all over. She didn't wanna damage my hair so she gave me highlights saying it will "make me feel blonde all over". You can see from the photo that I am NOT blonde, only the bottom of my hair which was already blonde. Top of my head has almost no change from what I was before. There's more brown than blonde. My family didn't even notice I got my hair dyed cause it hardly was more blonde. Nice girl to talk to, didn't give me what I wanted whatsoever. Now I have to pay someone else all over again to fix what got messed up. read more

First time at this salon. Little apprehensive as I have short hair and want a good cut. No need to worry, this place was great! Jen cut my hair and she took time to ask questions on how I wanted it, made suggestions and explained a different way to style it if I wanted. We talked about possible color (no more drug store box color), I'm excited. I would recommend this salon for women with short hair. I went to Celestine because of a mutual friend and I have absolutely NO complaints on the hair stylist department (reason why they even have the 1 star). Otherwise if it was based upon their only Nail Tech, then it would fail 100%. My boyfriend and I visited this place right before we went on 2 simultaneous vacations and we wanted to pamper ourselves. I had talked him into getting his very first mani/pedi and I was ecstatic to share with him how amazing it really is. We couldn't get the mani/pedis done all at once so we scheduled to have the pedicures done first and then the manicures done a few days later. We found out that their pedicure was a bit more expensive than your average visit because it included much more (we were okay with it). And let me tell you that we definitely did not get whatever it was that we "supposedly" paid for. I read into the description on their website of what was included in the pedicures and per the description neither of us had any type of massage and when it came time for the paraffin dip, she admitted that she had forgotten to put it in the night before and we just had the bottoms of our feet dipped, which was a little disappointing. Although after the pedicures we decided to shrug it off and thought that the manicures would be better (although we were bumming a little about not getting our feet massaged). The next appointment we had, I decided to do the shellac (which I've had done numerous times) and all I received was removal of the current polish followed immediately by the painting of the Shellac. I asked about my cuticles and soaking my hands and she claimed I didn't need it (which I did badly need). She also unfortunately did not paint my entire nail (it looked like a 5 yr old did my nails), which I also mentioned but she said that you're not supposed to (the sides of my nails were completely bare). The Shellac looked terrible because it smudged which I was told it happens sometimes with the color I picked but she still didn't fix it. I received no lotion or massage afterward, so I basically paid for a color change. My boyfriend didn't get any polish but she just filed and trimmed his nails and we were out within an hour for the both of us. We also received no paraffin with our manicures as listed on the website. With the amount of money that we both paid, including tip (about $200), we were hoping to get the "spa" experience and a decent job and needless to say we didn't get that. Our nails looked horrible and I was so upset because I was going to be standing up in a wedding in Florida not 2 days later and had no time OR MONEY to get them fixed. The worst part is that I emailed the location about the entire experience and all I got in return was, "We're sorry about your experience and would like to offer you a $20 credit for the paraffin dip." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! After spending almost $200 all you're going to offer me is $20?! To say the least, I never responded because I was insulted and I won't waste my time on management that obviously doesn't care about its customers. We will never go back again. Later on down the road my boyfriend and I found one of those little random nail salons and paid $50 all together and got pedicures that not only included everything Celestine "said" they'd do, they offered so much more. Tip to management - If people are shelling out an arm and a leg for simple services, make sure it's actually worth the money and at least TRY to make up for a terrible experience. read more

Overpriced. Rude. Unprofessional. I went for a color and cut. This process takes a bit of time. I understand this. I did not go to hear gossip about every employees personal life. I also did not appreciate that after clients left they were the subject of gossip. I would never go back again. A salon should be peaceful and enjoyable.
