This place is incredible - I've been coming here for 5 years and seeing Caitlyn exclusively for hair. She is the sweetest and is always honest about what's best for my hair! She does weft extensions and I have never had an issue with installation, she always makes them look amazing and blended perfectly. The head massage during the hair wash is the best, and everyone is always so friendly. The tea they give is amazing as well. I love the vibes of the salon and it's such a treat when I have my appointments. A family member pointed me to this salon and the ladies came together to pull off a miracle. met with me for a consultation on short notice and came up with a game plan on how to soften and blend my hair. She didn't have time to get it all done today, but luckily Casey,a Master Stylist, had a cancelation and fit me in. It turned out wonderfully and I'm so relieved. They really take care of you here, down to Katie helping by doing my toner and wash so we could get it all done. I will be back and recommending this place for sure! read more

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now considering C'zar has become a monthly appointment for me. I have been coming here to see Chona once a month for her amazing massages! I had initially done the Chakra Balancing massage so it was really cool to see that someone is able to do energy work right in my own community! It was 90 minutes of Heaven! She also does acupuncture and cupping so I was able to try those as well. Whatever massage you need, I highly recommend seeing Chona. You won't regret it! I also started getting the facials and had one with Dawn yesterday. I really like how C'zar incorporates aromatherapy with their massages and facials and I was able to choose my scent for the service. I had been traveling extensively and was getting a lot of breakouts and after my facial, my skin feels amazing! I also got a hand massage and a neck and shoulder massage. It was like a 2 for 1! The only downside with such a relaxing treatment is that you end up falling asleep and it goes by too fast! Looks like I'll definitely need to add facials to my monthly appointments here too! read more

I'm done with this salon. The few times I have been able to actually make an appointment, the service was really great. Everyone I've encountered has been very friendly and polite. Problem is that my schedule does not really allow for appointments booked weeks out as I invariably have to cancel/reschedule due to being on call and getting paged back to the hospital for emergencies. I tried for months to find a time that I could see my regular girl (Emily. She's really great!) but as I work an hour away now with multiple weekend calls per month, it was really difficult (seriously, haven't had my hair cut since last year). I was finally able to get a day off where there was an appointment available with a different stylist, which I immediately booked. A little less than 2 hours before my appointment, the front desk called to inform me that the stylist was running 30 minutes behind and they wouldn't have time to take me, as I was a new client to this particular stylist and would require more than the usual time allotted. Must be nice to be able to cancel clients because you're running behind. I wouldn't know what that luxury is like. Those of you who have regular schedules and can book future appointments probably won't have any issues as the staff is very friendly and the salon seems to be well organized and run efficiently. As for me, time to find a new place. Definitely not worth driving an hour up here if they can just cancel on you. read more

Love this salon. The first time I came I had a blow out, my stylist was super nice. The hair wash was fantastic. I liked the style she did but it didn't last more than 2 hours after I left (the curls completely fell out). I had really long hair and it likes to go straight but I have had blow outs that last longer. Front desk staff was friendly. They offered me something to drink right away. The second time I visited I got a hair cut by Kelsey, which I love! It was great talking to Kelsey and she really did a great job cutting and styling my hair. I really like the atmosphere and staff at this salon. I also like that they price based on stylists level/achievements. It makes sense that you should pay less if you get someone less experienced and vice versa. I feel it's a win win for the stylists, salon, and customers because you can chose what level of expertise your comfortable with and the stylist should get paid more for more experience. I felt they were pretty transparent with that when booking, so you knew what price to expect. read more

C'zar feels like family! I feel so welcomed whenever I come to any of the c'zar locations. Their managers, stylists, and the owners are so kind and talented. I most recently came here for a curbside product pick up. They've communicated clearly on social platforms on how to order and when the pick up was. Danielle, one of the managers was waiting for me at my product pick up time with a warm smile. She had a mask on and was properly social distanced. It was so nice to see her friendly face and she even put in some little samples *insert happy dance!" The product selection is endless. I started using Davines products regularly over the past few months and I've found some new favorites. The product line is sold at limited salons (including this one) and is a natural, high quality product. I've used this quarantine to spend extra time on self care and loving every minute of it. I'm obsessed with the Oi Oil, the Volu hair mist, and the dry textureizer. I've also tried the Oi all in one milk and love it also. They hold well and are all easy to use. Favorite part? The products smell irresistible. My husbands always notices how amazing my hair smells ha! Overall, I highly recommend this salon. It was wonderful to finally get a hair cut after 9 weeks of quarantine. I was nervous about going back into public due to my husband and myself both having health concerns that make us vulnerable. C'zar's staff did an amazing job of making clients and themselves feel safe. There was a questionnaire to fill out ahead of time, an attendant at the door to welcome you, a touch less temperature check, and hand sanitizer. Also there were limited people in the salon and touch less check out. The staff all wore customized C'zar masks. It is obvious that the owners put a great deal of time and effort into the safety of their clients and staff. Evonne gave me a great new hair cut. The whole experience was amazing. This location is both a space for hair/nails as well as a spa for massages/facials. The spa is a small part of the enormous space but is secluded, dimly lit and calm (very different from the hustle and bustle in the rest of the salon). I booked a 75 minute massage/acupuncture/cupping session and for 74 minutes of that, there were 2 women aggressively talking/gossiping/cackling/shrieking so loudly that it interrupted my entire session. I made comments several times to my massage therapist in my appointment as well as told the manager while I was checking out. She gifted me 20% off my massage but damnit if I don't write a review as well. It takes someone A LOT to organize work/kids/life for an hour and a half away let alone just to book something for herself! This was MY time and it was interrupted for the full session by women who worked there! This was not a loud client or a story's worth of laughter. This was 2 women employed by Czar being incredibly disrespectful to the salon right on the other side of the wall... for over an hour! I could tell you exactly what they were talking about- it was THAT loud! I refuse to ever use the salon at this location again, and I will not leave a stellar review here for my massage therapist (who deserves 5 full stars) - I'll leave her that review on one of the other Czar salons. read more

Today was my first time here only because i couldn't get an appointment at Nikki moon salon, but boy the minute i walked in the salon i knew i made the right decision to come here, the girls at the front desk are so kind and friendly, wherever you'll look will see smiling friendly faces, making you instantly comfortable. I was offered complimentary coffee or iced lemon water, i was seated and later greeted by my stylist that day, Ofelia. She gave me the exact haircut i wanted, she was extremely knowledgable and guided me how i can look after my hair. I found this salon way better in every manner( comparing to Nikki moon's). I've been to this salon a total of 3 times and I only had a good experience once for a haircut. I recently went to get my hair colored at this salon after having an amazing haircut done there, but I left feeling robbed and upset. The first time I went I had shown a very deep red color to my stylist and had expressed that if it was not achievable without bleach, because my hair was already dark, that using bleach would be 100% fine. My stylist reassured me and said it would only be the tiniest bit darker than the red sample she had shown me without bleach so I decided to listen to her as she is the professional. While waiting for her to mix the color, I could see in the reflection of the mirror that my stylist was whispering to another worker while looking at me and it did not look positive at all; it was almost as if she was aware that my hair was not going to turn out like it was supposed to. When the color processed and was dried, my hair was very much black. You could only see the red tint if you held a flashlight up to my hair and my stylist kept insisting that my hair was in fact red. I paid about $170 for something I didn't want, tip included. The tipping here is wild. I didn't like how my hair turned out but I was ordered a mandatory tip with the lowest amount being 20%. That's absurd. I decided to leave and deal with it because it was still a pretty color given that I've been black before. The next day I called and said that even though it was a beautiful color, I wanted my hair to be red and not black. I 100% understood that my hair would not look exactly like the picture I showed, but my hair was not red at all unless you held a light up to it. I was put on the phone with a manager who said that she could offer me a complimentary 4 foils to give a little more red and I had declined and said that I wanted my whole head to be red. I said that about 4 times over the phone; I wanted my whole head to be red. The manager said that my stylist knew the integrity of my hair and that she would be willing to fix it. I asked for an estimate and that she said it would be AT MOST $190. I had already spent $170 and it was going to be another $190??? Fine, whatever. I go in to my appointment 2 weeks later to get it fixed and my stylist is very clearly agitated. She told me that they were charging me $190 for PARTIAL HIGHLIGHTS? I had stated multiple times that I want my WHOLE HEAD to be red, not a small amount of highlights. I asked her on the spot what the pricing would be to make my whole head red like I wanted in the first place and she told me it would START AT $400?! $400 to fix the issue that they did in the first place. I told her that was not in my budget and that we would not be getting that done. She proceeded to tell me that I was booked in her chair for the next couple hours and that if I left without a service, I would be charged 50% (of the $400) for "'no call no showing." I was going to have to pay $200 just to leave this place. She told me she thought I would, and I quote, "be bald if we put bleach on the hair today." She said that she didn't feel comfortable putting bleach on my hair and kept rubbing my hair in between her fingers (like the money sign people sometimes do) and kept making faces as if my hair was disgusting. She also told me that they were a "professional salon" and that they don't do fashion colors and how there would only be 1 other person "willing" to do my hair but it would be an up charge because they just don't do fashion colors. I then told her fine and to do the complimentary 4 foils, and she MADE ME SIGN A WAIVER ABOUT THE INTEGRITY OF MY HAIR AND HOW IT WAS MY FAULT IF WE PROCEEDED AND THERE WAS MAJOR DAMAGE. Keep in mind I was very nice and compliant and was not being difficult. While she was doing my hair she was so incredibly rough with my hair. She didn't even fully blow dry my hair either. The red popped a lot better on top but it still wasn't what I wanted and they were all being so rude to me. I left and cried immediately as I left this salon. They are so unprofessional. This was my first time getting anything professionally done to my hair and they were all so incredibly rude and made me feel like I didn't belong there from how snobby everyone was. Do not come to this establishment if you're not filthy rich and want to be anything other than bleach blonde. There needs to be big changes at this salon. read more

I woke up today feeling really achy. I couldn't ignore it any longer and started looking for massages near by. Luckily, Laura had some openings today! For the month of February, she is mostly, if not, fully booked. So I was really lucky that I got a last minute appointment. You can call in or use the MindBody app (iPhone) to schedule an appointment. Check in with the front desk once you arrived. They'll offer some refreshments before and after your appointment. Laura is warm and personable. She listened to my issues and had a plan on how to tackle the problem areas. The massage was very relaxing. I felt my body loosened up after. I think I fell asleep! After moving to Bolingbrook I was eager to find a new salon. I haven't loved a salon as much as this in a long time. Casey has done my hair twice now and she did an excellent job both times! Everybody in the salon is very kind and personable. Being an Aveda salon, all of the products are high quality. The salon smells amazing too! They always offer you complimentary coffee, tea, and water. I got my brows waxed by Jackie and somehow almost fell asleep during the treatment. She is very nice and excellent and what she does. I'm so happy to have such a high quality salon that I know I can count on for any service so close to home. The prices are on the high side but you get what you pay for and the quality here is outstanding. My haircuts are $52 and the brow was was $20 I believe. I will definitely continue to use Czar as my go-to salon. read more

After a frantic call from me the receptionist got me an appointment with only a days wait with an awesome, patient hair dresser. She assessed the issues set a plan into action by correcting the color and cut and giving me directions on how to work with the style till our next visit! She waited then 38 minutes later she was told they couldn't do her haircut. If she wanted to go back the next day. Very disappointed no professionalism and it was a master stylist. Oh my heaven, I went in for a regular cut and instead got an amazing experience. 10minute scalp message with my shampoo while another girl gave me a hand message....oh heaven. Not what I expected. I just moved here from the city and need to find a new stylist and I'm so happy to find this gem. I asked for one of the master stylists who had experience with long thick hair and they recommended Ofelia. She was amazing, she really took her time to ask me about what I wanted and what my hair issues were and after 1 hour of time working through my mess of a hair, I was finally taimed. :) I've never had someone spend so much time on my hair, priming and poking for perfection. I've had my hair done 3 times now at Czar; once a few years ago for a cut that I had to come back in for a 'fix' that makes twice. I thought I'd try them again for a color this past weekend. Lindsey a senior stylist colored my hair. She did a great job and is a super sweet lady. However, after having a few days to really think about the fact that I had to blow dry my own hair I've decided to yelp about my feelings. I have always been a higher end salon patron. Never have I had to blow dry my own hair after a cut or color service. The assistant/apprentice that washed my hair asked me if I wanted to have towel dried hair or would I like for her to 'grab' me a blow dryer. I really didn't want to spend $100 ($80 for color service and $20 tip) to walk out of a salon with dripping wet hair. I did some searching on the web and found this to be somewhat of a money making trend, $30+ for an optional blow dry. This seems outrageous to me. If I'm spending $100+ on color & sometimes highlights, shouldn't I walk out of there with a finished hairstyle? I feel like an idiot sitting there blow-drying my own hair in the salon, but I also feel like an idiot paying $30+ to have it dried. So needless to say I did lots of reading of reviews on high end salons in the Chicago suburbs, I have found a salon that states right in their pricing menu that "(Color Services include a blow dry and style)." I will leave 2 stars because Lindsey is worth 5 stars. read more

I agree with the previous review in regards to the recommended stylists. I would like to add that if you have straight hair or less texture Stephanie or Gina would be ideal. If you have a lot of texture try to get in with Jessica or Liz. All four do amazing with all hair to be honest but they really excel in those areas. If you can not get in with one of those four I reccomend you change your schedule around. Unless it is the super rare occassion that an owner is in, the others (regardless of rank) are no where near as good as these four. I have straight thin hair and can not say enough great things about both Stephanie and Gina. I have sent many friends and family members to them as well as Jessica and Liz, depending on their hair, and have received nothing but thanks. A friend of mine recommended C'Zars Salon for a hair cut. She had been there about 8 weeks ago and is still loving her cut! So, I looked them up here, and took the advice of Amanda B. - I booked with Gina. Boy am I glad I did! Gina is amazing! I came in with a good idea of what I wanted, and I think that the cut I was envisioning was something that would work with my hair - but I honestly think she would have told me if it just wasn't going to work too. Gina took a solid hour to cut my hair. And when it came to styling - she asked me what products I have at home and use, and what size brush I have. She didn't 'push' the Aveda products on me, and just used the equivalents to what I said I have. And, she used the same size brush - and said "I want to make sure this will work to style - I don't want you to have to go out and get a new brush!" How often do you hear that from a stylist! She also informed me that bang trims (and in my case since I don't really have bangs, but a shorter cut) that any 'quick trim' is complementary (even on her busiest day), if it starts to get a little too thick or unruly between full haircuts! That made my day - and the hopes that I can get quite a bit more "wear" out of this $65 (including tip) haircut! I've been to an Aveda salon before (out in Geneva) - and they're all nice. This one has a nice 'old world' feel to it - with rich colors and tinted windows you feel like you've entered a castle and you forget that it's blazing hot summer outside! Before coming to Czars salon, I had only had a few facials and didn't think they were anything too special. But then my then fiance booked a facial for me a few weeks before our wedding shower at Czars, it was a game changer. Jackie is wonderful and makes you feel completely at ease, so much so that I am lucky if I don't drift off to sleep during my treatments. I've been back to visit her regularly ever since. Jackie is extremely knowledgable and really talks through both the condition of your skin and what treatments she will be applying. She also has provided samples of products for me to try out at home before buying a full bottle of something, which is extremely helpful. She works at both the Bolingbrook and Naperville salons, which is great for me because both are equally convenient for me. read more

C'zar is a very beautiful, trendy salon that offers much more than the average haircut. I was greeted by a very sweet and knowledgeable receptionist who offered me wine (!) and other beverages while I waited. My stylist, Liz, was incredible. She took the time to talk with me about my haircut vision and truly listened to what I wanted. Not many stylists do that. The luxurious shampoo and scalp massage were so relaxing, I almost fell asleep! Throughout my haircut Liz asked me how I was feeling about the length and style, she was such a professional. You can see by her techniques that she is very talented and my hair turned out so beautifully--exactly what I wanted! Received a great wash, condition and blow dry by stylist Rachel. She took me at my appointed time, was very professional and had lots of questions during our consultation to determine what I'd like to achieve with my naturally curly hair. I was in and out relatively quick (a definite plus). She is very welcoming and friendly. I loved her own short, sassy cut; a very nice look on her. I booked Rachel on a recommendation of a friend that gets her done by Rachel, and my friends hair is always gorgeous! We'll have to work on trying different Aveeda products that work well for my hair type because I didn't particularly like the finished style; it was limp and weighed down from product used to protect it from blowdrying.... My friend suggests if I have favorite products that work well for me, I'm free to take them for use instead. All in all, $45 was well worth the great service I received from Rachel; and I'm willing visit her again and figure out what works best for my hair. read more

Love, Love, LOVE Rachel. This girl is so knowledgeable about hair its not even funny. She is the BEST. I always went to Rachel for little things here and there to feel her out (trims, bang cuts, taking the thickness out of my hair, etc) but last night I decided to throw in my cards and let her do a complete hair makeover on me for my birthday. I showed her a picture of an ombre and she hit in right on the head but better. She used a technique called balayage. Balayage gives the colorist more freedom to place color where they choose, unlike foils which can be much more precise. It gave a really great effect and the results were marvelous. I referred one of my good friends to her before getting my hair colored (ha ha ha, I know) and she did great on her hair as well. (we are both African American so finding a stylist that knows their stuff is very hard to come by) The staff is very nice; it's very clean, calm and they give great scalp massages while the conditioner sits in... talk about HEAVEN read more

I've been here a couple of times and used to see Jessica when she was there. On my most recent visit, I dared to go with a jr. stylist... With my incredibly thick and wavy hair, I should have known better. After showing the girl the exact cut I wanted (photo of the cut Jessica gave me) and asking her to thin it out twice, I ended up with a bob cut that made me look like I was twelve. I went home, washed it, styled like I usually would and just couldn't make it work. The next morning, I called and asked if there was anything I could do that day to get it fixed (we were going to a huge work event that night). They offered to have the girl fix it for free, but I requested a senior stylist to fix it explaining that I had nothing against the girl but that I felt my hair just needed a bit more experience. Luckily, Gina had an opening that morning and took me on. She took a look at the photo and worked with my hair for a minute or two while asking me a few questions. With about 30 minutes of magic, I had the cut I was looking for in the first place. If you have a complicated hair-type, don't hesitate to book with Gina - she's amazing and worth every penny. read more
