I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Celine NYC and feel completely swindled by the store associate's dishonesty. I was very clear that I needed a crossbody bag because I have two young kids and need to be hands-free. The associate assured me--promised me--that the crossbody strap would be delivered within 2-3 weeks if I purchased the purse that day. I spent thousands of dollars based on this commitment. Weeks passed with no update. I finally reached out two months after the strap was supposed to arrive, and they told me they'd look into it. A week later, I followed up again, only to be told the strap was no longer available in the U.S. and that I could try calling other stores globally. I managed to track down what appears to be the last strap in the world--which was defective--but I was desperate. I asked Celine if they could help me get it shipped to the U.S., especially after I had done all the legwork. Their response? They can't help and will only refund the original strap. Three months and thousands of dollars later, and I still don't have what I was promised. It feels like the associate said whatever he needed to make a sale and collect his commission, with zero regard for my actual needs. Do not trust them. Store full of unprofessional sales associates. Had an issue with a bag bleeding color and they lied and said it's never happened before. It's ruined clothing and they give this cop-out response, "We've never seen this before." No help at all, and insinuating I'm lying instead of helping me with a product that isn't up to a luxury standard. Steer clear from this store and their unhelpful, rude staff. Especially knowing how LA retail customer service is, I seriously don't get it. I walked in here last summer and talked to Miguel E. Very pleasant to work with no pressure and very attentive. I also opened the store at 10am on my brisk stroll to battle the cold lol he showed me everything that was in the stock room and they definitely have more in stock here plus the upstairs! Customer service is superb, very professional and definitely getting every penny of what you pay for. Will definitely be coming back here for my next purchase. I'm writing this review mainly to say how awesome my sales associate was. Bernard Paul was who helped me the day I went. He was absolutely amazing. I knew what style bag I wanted going in but no idea the color or material. He was very patient with me in picking out my bag and brought me many options. It was so hard to choose between all the beautiful colors but he gave me as much time as I needed to make my final decision. I will attach the photo. The store is really nice and with many workers there to help. Many of the colors aren't just sitting outside they have many in the back so Bernard was very helpful in brining ones out that I would like. Went in today to ask for a repair to a handle on a bag and was told no because their policy is after service for 2 years only??!! This is absolutely ridiculous for a so called "luxury" brand. So are you saying you only guarantee that your merchandise will not break down within 2 years??!! That's not a strong statement towards the quality of your product & brand. A French brand at that. I recently brought in my Gucci bag for a repair that I was afraid they could not handle and they took care of it right away with a smile. Even cheaper brands like Coach and even apparel company Lululemon which is designed for physical activity have LIFETIME guarantees on all their products. When I was younger I saved for a long time so I could purchase this bag because I thought it would have longevity. Boy was I wrong!! Quite frankly I'M SO DISAPPOINTED in your brand, Company and this situation. I will make sure to share this horrible experience with everyone I know and come in contact with. Bags purchased at street fairs last longer. The next bag I purchase will be one of good quality that lasts or any brand but yours. Upper east side is dangerous for shoppers, but I came here with one bag in mind so I ignored the other beautiful shiny stores. When I came in and asked, they were sold out.. whomp whomp. All over the US they said. So I put my name down with Bernard and he assured me he'd let me know when a shipment came. He told me to check the other stores like Bergdorf and the Soho store. I called the soho store and Valentina was texting me back and forth to assure me she would let me know when a shipment came. I ended up putting a purchase order through Valentina because she called me a week before the shipment to hold my bag. But then Bernard texted me when the bag actually showed up. The two worked it out for me and the rest is history. I ended up buying it at this location, but both personnel from the two locations couldn't have been more helpful and professional. I explain it would be my first Celine bag and she was as excited as I was. Ashley explained the history of the bag and how it was made, showing her expertise on these products. I wanted to leave a review for that location but there wasn't one so I'll leave it here because the Madison location was my very first purchase a couple of years ago. So far, I am a believer. Ethan has been my true savior! I bought the Cabas Phantom in Paris last year but sadly had to realize that one of the bag's straps wasn't stitched evenly and hadn't been properly repaired after my first complaint. When I moved to New York, I brought the bag to Céline again and Ethan arranged a replacement for me. We spend so much money at Celine between Beverly Hills, SoHo, London, Paris but for whatever reason the management and customer service at Madison is atrocious. We went the other week to do a simple exchange and it was like pulling teeth. We went to CVS later that evening to buy general house items and were commenting on how the customer service and staff at CVS was better than Celine. If you're in New York, definitely stick with SoHo. They are lovely. read more

Update: Kimble, a supervisor, reached out and made things right. He was very understanding and professional. He messengered the shirt back so I didn't have to go back to the store and processed it without further issue. The clothes and store are beautiful and there a lot of positive aspects about this brand. However my most recent experience left quite a bad taste in my mouth and I want people to be aware of it when choosing to purchase from this particular location. I purchased shirt last week from an excellent associate, who was professional and amicable. We discussed a few pieces as the fits are a little different in their new menswear collection, and I decided to try on a shirt at home before committing to it. After a try on at home, I decided it wasn't what I needed it to be for the price and decided to bring the garment back. I finally make it back to the store, find the same associate, we process the return and I assumed that was that. I was wrong. An hour later I get a call from the store manager, Lisa, saying that they found a "huge stain" on the side of the shirt and it was not eligible for return that I needed to come back because the return had already been voided. Admittedly when I got there, my overall feeling was mostly embarrassment. I take issue with returning clothing full stop, nor would I ever want it to be assumed that I tried to get away with something I shouldn't have. I was about to leave when it dawned on me, how was I supposed to trust that the stain hadn't occurred within the hour of my having returned it and the shirt was in their possession a thought that dawned on me primarily because her abrasive demeanor. She said to me that there was no way it could have happened that only three people handled it in that time. I asked her why I was supposed to just trust that answer, given that I could tell the same story with less people involved. She literally shrugged at me. She said she understood my point and it's a matter of one party having to trust the other. Which I followed up with, but why is the service provider not trusting the word of the client. Again she physically shrugged at me. Seeing that I wasn't going to get anywhere with this person who had no intention of working this out amicably, I decided to just remove myself from the situation and follow up through other means. I find it strange and insulting that a luxury brand would not take ownership of their own internal decisions. The return had been processed. She could have corrected the employee and moved on, which any other brand of this caliber would have done. And worse, making the customer come back to the store and forcibly spend money on something that there was no proof I caused damage to. Especially as they debut their men's line and try to build a customer base. If people like Lisa are the ones leading that charge, I fear the line may be in trouble. It was handled very poorly and I still should not be responsible for this shirt. read more

Love this location better than the Soho. Got my Trapeze few month ago. The staffs were friendly and professional most of all knowledgeable. The sales person (sorry, forgot his name) showed me all the available color and material options. I ended up getting the snakeskin one instead of the regular leather. The salesperson really sold me on that. It was a little more special but not too crazy. I enjoyed the service so much I even took a pair of shoes with it!
