Highly Recommend for a relaxing, special evening! We ordered the bacon sampler as an appetizer. Not only was it very good, but it was just served in a fun and unique way! The sauce served along with the bacon complimented the bacon perfectly. I commented to my husband that it was the perfect appetizer as it did not fill us up, and instead made us anticipate the entrees more. My husband had the elk, and I had the salmon. Both entrees were superb. The blue cheese risotto served along side the salmon was outstanding. We also enjoyed the fried sprouts. Finishing out our dinner, we ordered the key lime pie, and truly, it may be the best key lime pie we have ever had. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service was excellent. We were greeted by many of the staff as we went to our table. They asked if we were celebrating a special occasion. It was our 39th wedding anniversary, and they asked if we had been there before. It was our first time. We will definitely go back. Jordan, our server, was very attentive and helpful throughout the meal. First visit on a second date with girlfriend. Special night. Had 715 reso and was told that our table would probably be 15 or so minutes as they were waiting for guest to vacate, we could wait in the bar. No problem Nice ambiance and service. Nice table in a quieter area in an alcove area. Perfect. Server was training a new server, so we got plenty of attention from both of them. Started with french onion soup which was very flavorful, yet the toasted baguette was either non-existent or so covered in melted provolone to not be part of the texture of the spoonful. Unfortunate. Had the elk tenderloin and it was cooked perfect medium rare and had a clean, almost sweet flavor. Would have liked the brussels sprouts to have been a little bigger, and more seasoning. Would have loved to have subbed red cabbage or risotto for the mashed potatoes, which were blah. My friend had grouper, and she only ate half; but assured me was good as was her risotto. Had peanut butter pie for dessert. A nice finish; but wouldn't order next time. Key Lime pie sounds good. Overall impression is Cellar 55 is well worth a date night or special occasion, as the service and ambiance were definitely upscale; but prices are higher than other places with comparable food. read more

So disappointed with the food! Had heard good things but our food was absolutely terrible. The waitress went on and on about the fresh wild caught salmon special only available for a few weeks so we ordered it and it was so overcooked and dry and over sauced! If the fish is that amazing why completely cover it a thick sauce. The asparagus was bottom of stalk only, no tips and overcooked so it was soggy. None of our food was hot including the queso which was congealed and gross!! Will not go back! read more

Came to Cellar 55 for the first time and it was delicious! I came for lunch and have not had the opportunity to try dinner yet, but I got the fried chicken sandwich, which I recommend and would order again. Service was excellent. Accommodating and attentive. It has a great ambiance. Would be great for a date, a small group, or even a large party. It is big with a private room along with other places in the restaurant that can accommodate large tables. WOW, just WOW. What a gem Amarillo now has. Open only three months. We were traveling back from Durango to Fort Worth after a week long motorbike trip. Even though we were dressed that way too they welcomed us. (Next time we will honor them properly with our attire.) Now to the food. Every morsel was amazing. The chicken wing appetizer was the best and moist I've ever had. Fantastic salads for the table. Grouper melt, southwest salad wrap, creamy Parmesan crusted grouper and Pasta New Orleans were all phenomenal. One of the most amazing wine and bourbon selections we've seen to include a Weller millennium. We will be searching for a reason to come back to town just to have another dinner. I love being the first! Again! I don't know the Amarillo dining scene, this is the first time I've been here, but I definitely know restaurants and I eat out a lot. This place is awesome! It's only been open a few weeks, but I could tell instantly that it had my vibe written all over it. I liked everything about it...the decor and the space is fantastic, the friendliness of EVERYONE I encountered here is wonderful and I felt warmly welcomed immediately and that carried over throughout dinner. I ordered the Caesar salad (the one miss on the menu, but not much different from most restaurants.) Then I had the 9oz filet with mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts...and OMG was it perfect. Truly incredible. Super tender steak and those sides were amazing. I was then coaxed to try the Peanut Butter pie...which was also wonderful and delicious. When I find a restaurant that serves a meal like this when I'm just randomly passing through I think it's about as serendipitous and delightful as life can be. Tops for myself has been the Tomato Bisque soup from the soup of the day, Blackened Steak Bites, Pasta New Orleans, Gundagai Lamb Chops and the best Key Lime Pie I've ever tasted. The Lamb Chops w/the chimichurri sauce is something else! Salmon and Red Snapper from the tostada were cooked to perfection. Everyone at the table loved the Fried Lobster, asparagus and calamari. I visited last week for a late-night glass of wine with a business acquaintance. Okay, the food is here great! I don't know where they got the bartender from, but the mixed drinks we had were excellent! The French Onion Soup was also amazing! The bacon appetizer was really good, and I didn't think it was worth the price, but my fiancé disagreed. I really only have one major complaint, and it's that the French Dip came on a hot dog bun. First of all, how are you supposed to dip that in the Au Jus? Secondly, half of the reason I ordered it was because I expected it to be on a baguette. It's called a "French Dip" for crying out loud! How many French people do you think visit the local Patisserie to pick up American hot dog buns on a daily basis? While that one detail was a major disappointment, I still ate it, but I was very disappointed by that. I suggest adding several menu items that use baguettes to the menu and updating the French Dip or taking it off the menu completely. The manager said that it's one of the most popular items, but I have trouble believing that anyone over the age of 12 would order it twice. All that being said, the service and food (overall) was excellent, and we will be back! read more

Service was friendly but slow--took around 45 minutes just to get water and drinks, and another hour for our meals to arrive.
