Best wine bar I've been to in the woodlands!!!! Dogs and grand Ole service!!! Yummy snacks and amazing selection

I researched the website and yelp reviews of this place. I was really looking forward to a quiet , relaxed inviting place as it is described by the owner. It was 9 pm when I walked in, their dog was gently napping . I walked to the bar, where the dog would join me a few seconds later. This is where one would normally say I would give it zero stars if I could, but the doggo is worth the one star. There was one couple at a high top behind me, and two couples sitting in the sofa area. No one was behind the bar or greeted me after I sat down. Now, the owner (or one of) is a blond woman. I am not sure if she was the blond sitting on the loveseat. I sat, and sat. Still no one. I believe I was there for about 8 minutes. The couple behind me had empty classes, the women in the lounge area kept chatting away. The one woman facing the bar made eye contact. Again, not sure if they were patrons or staff. Either way, no one greeted me, offered a drink. Nothing. I honestly was looking forward to the charcuterie board with some added cheese and a nice German Beer. Although I really wanted a quiet evening of internal monologue and thoughtfulness, I felt that self service at the bar for my drink or the kitchen would not be appropriate. In the end, I walked out, no acknowledgment, no service and disappointed. If I wanted to be ignored, I guess I could have stayed married, but not in a place that I was really looking forward to, and had high hopes. The hours of operation were until 10pm, the open sign was on and the door was unlocked. I may try again, but it will be a while before I do. read more

We love Friday evenings here! There is typically a live artist playing with a great set list. The wine selection is far superior to anything you are going to find in restaurant and you have the option of a glass or the whole bottle to share. The owner is happy to make suggestions based on your feedback which is nice if you aren't sure what you are really wanting. We joined the wine club to try wines we wouldn't normally think to order. It's a great value for the monthly selection. Bonus, the owner's adorable golden retrievers are occasionally there and love attention. read more

Cellar 24 is a small intimate location to have boutique wines and small bites. The owner Shelli is a level 2 sommelier who hand picks the wines including the wine club selections each month. Taco Tuesday is a fun way to relax starting with a glass of wine and chips and homemade salsa. Then dive into homemade tacos where u can mix and match your favorite 3 types of tacos. Wednesdays and Thursdays are a great time to sample new wines and have small bites and are often quieter than Tuesdays. Live music on Fridays is a great way to relax. Shelli has several good choices of wine by the glass. If going as a group she can guide you to a bottle you will love. Once she knows the wines you enjoy she can offer new wines based on their varietal and tasting notes. Cellar 24 is a little treasure! We signed up for a 4 course prix fixe menu and it was divine!! For $65 a person we got a delicious bruschetta with fig, mascarpone and prosciutto, a tender bed of spinach dressed with a bacon vinaigrette and an amazing short rib gnocchi. My husband had the miso glazed cod on ginger quinoa and he ate every bit of it! We were able to finish it up with a tasty little chocolate tart! From the delicious small bites, to the walls full of wine to chose from, Cellar has something to please all palates. The bar is inviting, always a "regular" there to have conversation with. So we came here because we heard of this place from a few friends. I don't really like wine, but my girlfriend does. It was a really great experience. They have some craft beer for beer drinkers. The atmosphere was really nice, personal and romantic. They had a live band, which was great. They also have maverick!!! Their golden retriever who was so cute! He would walk around and basically check on guests, sooo cute! Anyway, the owner was great and even had a lint roller for us to use after hanging with maverick. The food was good too. Small portions, which I think is normal for wine bar and I'm cool with that. No issues for us. We liked it! We will be back! Great date night spot. read more

We went in for a drink before we were going in for dinner. We walked in with our masks on and the owner told us that masks were not necessary and she preferred we didn't wear them. We sat down and then decided it would be better to patronize a different establishment. Everyone can have an opinion about the pandemic but patronizing statements are not appreciated. When asking if there are daily specials upon my first time arrival, and being told of only food specials, I'd have to suppose that was to imply a wine bar couldn't possibly have wine specials. Not a problem, atleast I'd found them on yelp and was going to get 50% off a glass of wine upon checking in. Except that didn't happen either. Before asking for the check from the owner on duty, I'd stated I checked in to yelp. then placed the check in offer on my phone beside my credit card facing her direction, as she had to take the card. Even after reaching for the card and seeing the phone- not done. perhaps since i'm not a daily customer i didn't merit the courtesy. I'll stick to craft beer as my hobby. less pretentious than the wine crowd, and i won't need to try to understand why soy tacos would be on the menu. read more

The owner knows exactly what I want to drink based on the description I give her and has introduced me to wines I never would have tried otherwise. We are wine club members, so we get to enjoy discounts on wine we take home plus member happy hours. Who doesn't like half price wines by the glass?! Even after the music started, it wasn't too difficult to hear and we were right in front of him. The service was just ok. It took a bit longer than expected to place our orders and we had to fill our own glasses the majority of the time, but the guy who waited on us was very friendly when he was . However, the cheese plate and beef Wellington hit the spot (portion size of the mini wellingtons could be a bit bigger for $12 for 2). What a lovely time we had tonight celebrating my husband's birthday here. The owners are wonderful and so knowledgeable about their extensive wine selection. I let the birthday boy chose a red from Novelty Hill Janiuk Winery in Woodinville, WA! We paired the wine with their cheese/charcuterie plate, having picked 4 beautiful cheeses and meats accompanied by olives, cornichons, crackers, honey grapes and a jelly! Shelli's artichoke dip was freshly made and came right out of the oven...it had the consistency of a light soufflé served with a warm baguette! The music was great and at just the right volume! They do not charge their $8 corkage fee on Tuesdays! We are really looking forward to joining their wine tastings every other Wednesday. I've been coming to Cellar24 since it changed from The Woodlands Wine Co. to the new owner, Shelli Moran. The wine selection is vast with just about any price point or varietal you could want. We enjoy the wine classes and have gained a lot of knowledge through them. Shelli always cooks food for those classes, pairing everything perfectly. Not only is she a Level 3 Som, she is a fantastic cook. Taco Tuesdays are a highlight of our week. We usually let her pick our wine for the evening and she has never steered us wrong. Shelli seeks out the wonderful wines that not many are familiar with and that come at wonderful price points. She can also special order bottles that you may need for a special occasion or that she doesn't have in stock. She frequently does wine tastings for a nominal fee, usually in the evenings. And she has a bar dog, Maverick! C24 is a hidden neighborhood gem. Our local Cheers.
