Out of all the cell phone repair shops in San Diego County, I can guarantee that Cell Repair will provide the most optimal care. David was extremely thorough in his diagnostic and repair process. I had a particularly tricky case; a phone damaged by saltwater that had been marinating for a few weeks. What should have been a short and sweet data extraction turned into several day long predicament that spanned over the labor day weekend (which yes, they were open for). On the note of data extraction, I should note that out of the twenty-two shops I called, Cell Repair was the only one that specifically noted data extraction in their quote. Back on topic, David has got some serious dedication and patience. In the end, he ended up having to manually backup nearly 2500+ images off of my damaged phone. Since my new phone is set to automatically synch with the cloud, I was able to see the photos upload as they came in. This took him HOURS spread out between a few days. All this, and we paid only about $120. This may sound like a lot compared to other places that only charge half of that, but think about it. He had to clean the rust inside the old phone, switching out corroded parts. A full back up takes about an hour, so imagine doing that twice before realizing that it wasn't working how it should. Imagine having to go through someone's photos and back up each photo ONE BY ONE. Some places would charge extra for all of that extra effort. David was just focused making sure everything was taken care of. The people here are highly experienced and are happy to answer all of your questions, clarify things, and address all of your concerns. I honestly wish I could leave a 6* review - David at CellRepair went so far above and beyond any of my wildest expectations. My wife's phone (Galaxy S21) had legitimate water damage after it was accidentally taken into a saltwater river (it still charged wirelessly and worked fine otherwise). And then a week later her tablet, through an unfortunate coincidence, started giving us an error that it couldn't charge due to water in the charging port - even though that one had NOT been exposed to water. I called CellRepair and spoke with David, who was able to quickly and clearly provide me with all prices and detail over the phone - no playing of games, or making me come in for a quote, etc. One of the parts had to be ordered, and I was also able to leave a deposit (which was only $30) via paypal - again, making things super convenient for me. I went in when the part arrived a day or two later. The phone was fixed quickly and works perfectly now. The tablet however still wouldn't charge. Since it had never been exposed to water, this was not a complete surprise to me - there seemed to be something else wrong with it. I was ready to take the tablet back, but David wanted to do a further examination. The tablet is a Galaxy S5E, and is worth about $250 to replace. Expecting it to be unrepairable, I was concerned about "throwing good money after bad" so I asked what the added charges would be. "Nothing, it's all included with the initial diagnosis" was the response. I was reassured of that several times (and as you can guess from the glowing review, David was good to his word). The end result was that the tablet could not be repaired. However, along the way, David ordered a second charging port and tried replacing it again, and must have disassembled it 3 separate times, while inspecting all internal components. A lot of time was invested in his efforts to repair the tablet - and it needs to be stressed that all of that time was invested AFTER I had indicated that I was already a happy customer and willing to accept that the tablet was unrepairable. That distinction means a lot to me. David and the team at CellRepair genuinely wanted to go the extra mile! Also of note - although I didn't get his name, the team member who helped me check out when I went to pick up the tablet (with no extra charges) was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. He answered all of my questions quickly and efficiently. And again just the little touches of detail - when he gave me back the tablet, he put it back in the case and cleaned the screen. I mentioned that it wasn't necessary since the tablet was unrepairable, but he said he wanted to do it anyway, just so that it came back to me in clean condition. Sometimes, it hard to convey things through text. And in our efforts to do so, we come off long-winded or sounding like we emphasize things that are less important. But what I have really been trying to convey is just the level of friendliness, knowledge and desire to go the extra mile for the client that I saw at CellRepair in Chula Vista. It made me feel valued as a customer, and definitely earned my long-term business. (I only wish this was the type of store I could shop at every day, and not when things are broken LOL) read more

They did inform me that the screen placed (by Emilio ) Was not an original Apple product. I will gladly upload a picture of a receipt stating that. Needed an iPad screen repaired quickly and for $130 it seemed a good price. I didn't expect to get it back for a few hours, but it was so fast that by the time I got back home they had called and said it was ready. I picked it up, good as new! The same iPad was dropped again not long after the repair, but it was only a corner break. Good enough to still use, but not safe for small children to use. Instead of replacing the screen this time it was less expensive to just buy a children's tablet for half the price of the screen repair. It would be 5 stars if not for my experience. took my iPhone 8 Plus here. It was pretty badly beaten up. Cracked everywhere, the screen and casing falling off. I dropped it off at 12pm and they said it would be ready by 5pm. I got an email confirmation. That was all the contact that I received from them. Since I wasn't contacted other than being told it would be ready by 5pm, I show up at 4:55pm, only to be told that they didn't have the part but they ordered it and it will be ready by 1pm the next day. ....okay. No big deal. Just wish I was contacted about this before I showed up at the time I was told it would be done. I show up the next day at 1:45pm - 45 mins later than I was told. I walk in. I'm not greeted but I make eye contact with the associate, he's taking with someone so I don't mind. Finally after waiting for 5 minutes, he approaches me and says "I'm sorry I just received your part 15 mins ago and it should be ready in 45 mins" ....okay.... no big deal. I'll wait. I usually don't write reviews but I kinda have to have to this time, I had taken my iPhone xs max to a different repair shop because they quoted me a lower price but they did not fix it... They said it was unfixable but there are tons of videos showing how to fix the problem so I brought it over to this store and long story short they fixed it... My phone had a "no service problem" and the only way to fix it is by resoldering the motherboard and that's a hard job to do, I usually do my own battery replacements or screen replacement but this one needed more experience and tools so I brought it over and I'm glad I did and he gave me 1 years warranty on the job so if it happens again he will fix it...
