I can see I'm not the first to give Jim and Cellular Repair Center a 5 star review - and I'm not surprised. I dropped my wife's iPhone 7 and it went completely dead. Being an old phone we replaced it with a newer SE but we'd lost a ton of pictures since we didn't have adequate cloud storage. We'd lost several months of pictures including those from my daughter's wedding. Jim figured out how to repair the phone's circuitry enough to get all the pictures and videos off and onto a thumb drive. I first went to Jim back in 2012 to fix a mistake from another iPhone repair shop in SF. He was able to correctly solder on the battery connector back onto the board (the SF shop put a piece of tape to keep the connector from moving). Then in 2014, I brought Jim an iPhone 5S with a cracked screen and he fixed it with ease. Worked like brand new afterwards. Jim also sources very reliable parts. 2020 was the real test. I replaced my friend's iPhone 7 charger port and while doing and afterwards, the phone wouldn't hold a charge. I brought the phone to Jim and found out that the tristar charging chip was bad and had gone out, which was out of my expertise to fix. Jim fixed it with ease. I found an old 5S that I hadn't been able to power on for years and brought it over to Jim. Turns out it was also a tristar charging chip that went out and again, Jim fixed it with ease. I also brought an iPhone X to Jim to help me diagnose why the screen wasn't on correctly and within seconds of opening the phone, he was able figure out the screen screw holes were bent from a previous and fixed it instantly. Next, my iPhone XS stopped shut off on me and wouldn't turn on. I hadn't backed it up and there were photos on there with friends and family that were no longer here I couldn't get back. Jim found a short on the main memory chip and found a way to get it working again. Time after time, Jim has fixed phones that I couldn't myself and I am beyond grateful for Jim's work on bringing back my irreplaceable XS back. They are not cheap but they did fix the problem and I would recommend to everyone! I believe in quality over price and he fixed everything in house. It toke a day or less. He replaced the battery, reinforced the motherboard, my phone just seems faster. My screen is now responsive and everything. He notified me of there private policies. Another shop stated I had "touch disease" which is I guess common with the IPhone 6. He did the repairs in house which was very important to me. Once you start talking about shipping stuff out there is more people you have to worry about and I wasn't mentally prepared to do that with a different shop. They completed everything and got my phone working. Usually when I say I want my screen working, that means it being responsive too. I was thoroughly impressed by this place. First of all, the guy at the front counter was funny. He first pretended that he's never seen an iPhone before. This had me nervous until I realized that he was just messing with me. He got me good, though. Ha ha. Once we got down to business, he told me that this can be done quickly and I can just wait for it. Since I didn't have anything else pressing to do, I decided to wait. I brought a book to read but these guys are fast! I didn't even finish one chapter before they told me that the phone was fixed. You can see from the timestamp on my phone that it was fixed in 12 minutes! I was really IMPRESSED. I hope never break my phone again but if I do, I'm coming here as they are fast and efficient. I honestly don't know what happened to my phone. It was perfect one moment and the screen was broken the next. I think the potent potables may have had something to do with it but I really don't think so. I think Apple made these screens in such a way that when they put out an iOS update, they can cause the screen to break. Maybe they can trigger the speaker to output a pure wave of a certain secret frequency that happens to the natural frequency of the glass and breaking it. A friend of mine once told me a story like that and I thought it was plausible. On the other hand, maybe he was just taking advantage of my gullibility. In any case, I had a broken screen and needed someone to fix it -- after all, it wasn't going to fix itself. Haha. I asked my friends and they told me about this place. I called ahead and was told that they can accommodate me without an appointment. I showed up and they were very effecient and professional. First of all, I'd like to say that I'm always very careful with my phone. I never drop my phone (well, almost never) and I keep my iPhone well protected. Well, when I was workign out at the gym yesterday, I accidentally dropped a weight on my phone. Well, I was a bit winded from the work out and forgot that I had put my iPhone right next to me. This is a sweet place for iPhone repairs. They were not only fast and courtesous, they were also sympathetic and listened to my sob story about how my screen broke even though I didn't drop it. I also told them that I need my phone fixed quickly as I need to meet someone tonight. They gave me a knowing smile and went to fix my phone right away. Very honest and fast. Andy was a one man shop, he was answering multiple calls, greeting guests that walked in, and still was able to work on my phone. My phone had a board issue on an iPhone 6s, and apple "genius" said it was a screen issue. I came here to get it replaced, and was demonstrated by Andy that it was indeed not a screen issue after he put on a new screen. To fix the board it was going to cost more than I was willing to spend, so Andy put everything back, and no fee charged. I eventually gambled, and took the phone back to the Geniuses at Apple, and paid the $150 screen replacement fee. They couldn't fix the phone obviously and ended giving me a referb phone at the screen replacement price, which is what I thought might happen. read more

I brought my iPhone 6 in for a battery upgrade - just $10 more than the Apple promo price - when I realized Apple was going to force me to replace my barely cracked screen. Battery was tested, upgraded, all while I waited. Even though they couldn't fix my phone, I still gave them 5 stars!! That's how awesome they are. Long story short. Dropped my Motorola Droid outside my car door on a rainy evening. Found it 15 minutes later all wet, but still working. Turned off a few hours later. So I took my phone here because I like helping the independent shops instead of the chains and the good reviews helped. Brought it in. Andy (the funny, jolly older gentleman behind the counter) said that he would look at the phone and if he couldn't fix it, he would charge me 10 bucks. If he could fix it, it would be 45. Good deal if you ask me. Ten bucks to see if my phone was salvageable. Called me a day later saying my phone was dead. It was either the lcd is dead or the phone wasn't charging. Jim told me it would cost 135 to replace. My heart just sunk. Might as well get a new phone. He then asked me if my phone was on warranty. When I went to pick up my phone, I told him that it was and they told me that the watermark on my phone does not show water damage so I could go ask for a new phone from my carrier. They coached me on what to say and what would happen. This is what I learned. 1. Don't ever try to charge a phone with water damage. It's like plugging in a hair dryer in a shower. Immediately take the battery out and bring it to someone who knows what they are doing. 2. There is a little white and red circle with a pattern on the back of my phone. That is the watermark. If your phone gets wet, then it will turn a solid color to indicate that your phone is water damaged so you won't be able to get another phone on warranty. 3. Even though the watermark inside the LCD had water damage, it could not be seen unless someone opened it up. Carrier employees are not allowed to open and look at what's inside the phone. They can only look inside the battery opening. So just make sure that watermark near the battery has a pattern on it. In the end, I was able to get a free replacement for my phone!! ^_^ Cellular Repair Center was super helpful and did not try to rip me off at all! Service with a smile and sense of humor! read more

I contacted Jim at Cellular Repair Center on Wednesday morning re: the shattered back glass on my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G phone. He wasn't the first repair shop I contacted, nor did he offer the lowest quote. But he was able to get the back glass replacement by the very next day and told me he could fix the phone within an hour. On Thursday afternoon, at the arranged time, I brought my phone over to his shop. When I came back in an hour, the broken glass back was completely replaced flawlessly. Jim's meticulous, masterful touch did the trick. The back glass replacement for the Note 20 is not an easy fix, as many other shops told me over the phone. My iPhone 7 screen broke over the weekend. I called a few places but most of them sounded weird. When I called this place, they were very knowledgable and comforting. The showed empathy about me broken screen and told me that they can fix it in no time at all. I came in and just waited for my phone to be fixed. They were very nice. They even offered me tea and coffee while I waited. They also have free WiFi so I was able to get some work done on my laptop while they fixed my phone.
