Warning! very careless with food allergies! my daughter told the lady behind the counter she has a peanut and tree nut allergy. then proceeded to ask her if she could taste the birthday cake flavor if that was safe the lady said it was so she ate the sample. well a min later another lady said that has heath bar in it! The lady said oh sorry I guess it's not. Well too late! that is horrible the ignorance when the ice cream is supposedly made onsite right there you don't know what's in it? Celtic creamery hands down the best ice cream place in Surf City! The staff are all super friendly, when you walk in you're immediately greeted and you can sample any flavor you want. Nice space for families to sit inside and there is a bench outside. They do have a refrigerator stocked with their flavors. Family of four ordered one scoop of chocolate (dish), cookies and cream in a waffle cone, From the Sea and Bee, and Birthday Cake with caramel. Everyone loved their scoop! Ice cream was delicious, not overly sweet, and the perfect scoop size for everyone. My oldest kept asking if we can go back to Celtic for ice cream - so when he asks multiple times, we know it's good! We ended up going a second time and this time I got From the Sea and Bee - blown away! My favorite scope at Celtic! We will most likely visit again before we leave. We vacationed in Surf City for a week and having an ice cream obsessed kiddo, we had to try several places. I am bummed we didn't come here first, because it was extraordinary! The staff who greeted us were incredibly friendly, offered samples, were patient with our kiddo while he made his choice, and were truly a delight! The space was bright and clean and cool, and it was obvious it was well taken care of. And, the ice cream!! I would stay away from this venue this holiday weekend. I took my kids to pelicans snowballs next door and stopped into the creamery after seeing delicious ice cream outside I was curious. I walked in to look at the menu and get something for myself or get something to go and was idmetiately asked to take my kids outside with their snowball treats we had just purchased. I'm not sure how to send my 2 kids and baby outside by themselves. I have never been greeted or treated like that. save yourself the money at the creamery and go to pelican snowballs where EVERYONE is consistently nice and caring. read more

I'm really disappointed because this is my favorite Ice cream. I've had It from the CB and joco location and now have tried this location. I tried a few different flavors which were delish, but ultimately just went with my usual, cookie dough. I was given the scoop that was prescooped sitting on top of the fresh bucket. I gave my daughter the first bite and she immediately spit It out. I tried It, and It was sour as can be. I went up and mentioned It was sour, they immediately tried It and said no, It was fine, that's how It tastes, maybe I don't like the flavor. They took the taste from the fresh bucket, of course It was good lol If this wasn't my usual I'd agree. They wouldn't give me another scoop, or offer a fresh scoop. I understand things cost money but It was a little disappointing to be told you're SOL. I won't be going out of my way to come back here again. read more

I actually hadn't planned to have ice cream and only get some for my son, but they gave me and my husband a little spoonful to taste their honey ice cream and it was really delicious so we also ended up each getting cones. 35 degrees and this place is open for dessert. Cool night on the island and we want ice cream. Sometimes google doesn't update hours but taking a chance and tried to see if they were open. Glad we did the ice cream did not disappoint and neither did the tiny donuts. Although our server looked chilly and cold she was great at recommending flavors , also polite. We got some tasty hot and tiny donuts to go with the ice cream we will be back. So much better than other places that have frozen desserts(ice cream). First time grabbing ice cream here. We split 2 of the sundaes between 5 people, and it was enough. $8.25 each, price increase from what we saw online but isn't everything? The sundaes are served on small plates, which resulted in a bigger mess with 5 spoons digging in, but they were both yummy! I would suggest to the owners to consider doing apple bites rather than a larger apple turnover, only because it was really hard to cut bites and eat that. The other one we got with mini doughnuts was perfect-and the doughnuts were made fresh! We'll be back in the future to try out more sundaes and support this family owned small business! read more
