CenExel is part of Atlanta Center for Medical Research (ACMR). The process and the study I participated in was great. That being said, I have been trying to be paid for my March 31st-May 9th participation in the study. Their pamphlets/contract state you are paid within a couple of days of your participation. I have been nickel and dimed. I have always had to ask for my payment. I had to contact the Independent Review Board (Advarra) to help me receive my compensation and on May 20th a few days after IRB contacted the study they paid everything, but $350. The $350 I am owed is because I participated in 13 physical therapy treatments and CenExel/ACMR only compensated me for 12 physical therapy visits. Unfortunately, I referred 3 people to the study. This was before they started playing hide and seek with my compensation. I have asked the Independent Review Board (Advarra) to inquire about the $350 they still owe me. The Independent Review Board will assist study participants when they have issues with a study process or management. I am grateful that the IRB exist. When they first started not paying and being unresponsive to emails, I researched what recourse I had when the study does not pay. I was hoping I did not have to contact them, but I was glad they existed and was there to assist me. I finally received the $350 0n June 6th. About 2 weeks after receiving the balance of my compensation I received an email from the clinical director Christy Carroll stating I was being released from the study (without receiving my final exam). I guess they let their feelings get in the way and kicked me and "do no harm" and "duty of care" to the curb. This study is the gift that keeps on giving. Here it is September 16,2025 and my participation in this study is like being in a relationship with someone that is mad at you for not letting them mistreat you. I had been feeling some aches and pains and thought it was just recovery. I obviously could not go to CenExel/ACMR with my concerns since I was basically thrown away for requesting my past due compensation. I asked about the final exam and was ignored. My PCP sent me for an Ultrasound to check for a blood clot, and they identified a Baker's Cyst at the surgical site. CenExel/ACMR would not have found the cyst in a final exam since they only use x-rays that identify bone not soft tissue, and they never physically touch the surgical site. Even though they threw me away like yesterday's garbage I did let them know that a Baker's Cyst is the result of their process. There is no right way to do the wrong thing! Here it is Nov 30th and the ACMR/CenExel never responded to the IRB inquiry about me not having a final assessment, my Baker's Cyst & the left side of my knee still being numb. The IRB never responded to me they received a response. I was under the impression that the study had to respond to the IRB, but I was obviously wrong. If there are no requirements for the study to respond to the IRB then what is the purpose of the IRB? Last week I was having a study interview with a different clinical research agency and they asked me had I been in any other study's and I told them I had been in one for my knee and I advised them that my knee was still numb. They were surprised that my knee was still numb from the nerve block 8 months after surgery. They said I might consider seeking legal advice. ACMR always said the numbness would go away they just never said when. Tomorrow, I am going to call a couple of law firms for a legal advice. Below is a picture of my knee after they took the staples out. I don't know if the surgeon Dr. Gupta or the receptionist stapled my knee closed, as you can see, they did a horrible job. I am lucky I did not get an infection with the gaps between the crooked staples. Dear Sir or Madam: I am writing out of concern for a potential breach of testing protocol, in addition to a morale-damaging breach of ordinary courtesy and good manners. My fiancé, a participant in a medical study at this facility, as well as other participants in line behind him, were denied snacks yesterday afternoon, despite having shown up within the scheduled time and having politely complied with the directive posted at the cafeteria (window) , which instructs participants who have missed a snack period for any reason, to request it's replacement at their subsequent snack period. On Sunday, November 2nd, my fiancé arrived at the cafeteria (Window) 3:42pm When the cafeteria attendant (lady) on duty failed to notice his arrival, he knocked politely upon the window glass in order to attract her attention and receive his snack. Instead, the attendant informed him (rather sharply) that she was needed to assist the other window at that moment, and would give him his snack when she finished. (She never came back) ! At the time of the second snack break, my fiancé reminded the same cafeteria (Window) attendant (in compliance with the posted directive) that he had not received a snack during the first break and requested it. Rather than comply, the attendant delivered his snack with a sharply rude series of remarks indicating that she had been well within her rights not to give him the earlier snack; he was simply out that snack and had only himself to blame for it. At that moment, other participants were lined up behind my fiancé, awaiting their own snacks, becoming a captive audience to the attendant's humiliating behavior. The lecture my fiancé was subjected to took up the rest of the time allotted for distribution of snacks, such that those in line behind him failed to receive anything to eat. The attendant (lady) then closed the window and walked away, to the consternation of all witnesses (involved) Some of those who saw and heard the event remarked that this same cafeteria attendant (lady) had made it a habit to speak very rudely to the study participants, such that their enjoyment of mealtimes was significantly impaired. My fiancé, being a strong and emotionally mature adult, at first hesitated to inform me of the incident when we spoke on the phone; although I could tell there was something wrong. Upon further consideration, though, we both became concerned that the combination of his calories intake being arbitrarily modified in this way, in addition to the stress of being publicly humiliated in the presence of his peers, might affect his upcoming lab results in ways inconsistent with the normal parameters of the study. I personally recommended that the incident be documented, so that it can be taken into account in the event that his results differ from what they would have been under normal circumstances. Above all, I hope it remains clear that my man has taken care to remain in full compliance with all guidelines and instructions; and that he fully intends to maintain that compliance. Clean friendly facility and staff. Great food, too! I screened for a bipolar study and qualified, am only in the beginning stages and it involves just two overnights. Only problem was I may have had a negative side effect from the trial med (gave me the runs)...Driving from LA, I was compensated generously for my time. Uber was offered though I declined. I got offered tv and food/snacks and there was even pizza in Day 1 screening! Well worth it if you have a mental Condition and want to help the medical community in your downtime. Not sure if they have studies for healthy volunteers but you can always visit the website or inquire. Just google them! Various locations about town. First time at this facility visiting a friend of the Ufo family staying here for a while. We had such a wonderful experience in the visitors common area. Well organized with areas for several family members to sit and have a few moments together. Nice leather club chairs, sofas and long tables to enjoy a game of Jenga or connect 4. Bright and clean with a snowy mountain focal wall that brought our pictures to life. Staff were super friendly and kind! They kept visitors in order with sign in while monitoring everyone with a familial grace. We knew our loved one was in good hands at this facility. These ppl don't want to pay. It's always this back and forth about waiting 24-48 hours for pay-card payment. That's bull bc you get funds when their accounting dept or person uploads it on the computer. Their agents tell a recruiter anything; it's like their real disrespect for science and looking at patients like pure nothing. read more

I came here today for my first ever appointment here at this facility. I was so pleasantly surprised! I was so happy that I came here. The lady and the gentleman both at the front desk were really nice and helpful. Even more notable was Jamie, who she had done all my ecg, height and weight, blood draw, and blood pressure. She was so sweet. Vanessa, who went over my study contract, was very nice as well. She was very thorough. Even the one older doctor man was super cool. You can tell they are all professional people here. The only thing that took long was the end review to make sure all my stuff was completed. My newest friend Leonardo and I waited quite a bit. While waiting, I was able to get two snacks from them to help break my fast. They let me pick from list, I got white cheddar cheez-its and famous Amos chocolate chip cookies. Overall, this was a great visit! I pray I get into this study. I find out within the week. Please come give them a try and help out society as a good human thing to do! read more

Said from a retired medical professional who was a subject in a 21 day study HUGE REGARD for DATA INTEGRITY 1) Incredibly high standards for data, not just to the minute, but to the second dosing. 2) So many variables removed! Even personal care items provided, no personal shampoo or body wash allowed.. not true at other facilities HUGE REGARD for study participants from a HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL STAFF 1) Three physicians assures complete coverage. All are clinically perfect. 2) PAs are perfect, Vee could or should be a physician. 3) Nursing staff is a dream team, everyone cares about study participants and study integrity top to bottom at this facility.. cud is a standard in excellence and enthusiasm. 4) Even in maintaining and recording nutrition, ingestion time and amount are accurate. Santiago is a great example to show that great effort is made to hire people that are not just task competent, but who treat others with cheerful courtesy. 5) Even in study participant recruiting, there is exceptional effort to bring in great people, Mark sets that standard.. 6)No they did not pay me for this, in fact the only flaw I see in the system is that they do not promote themselves well, even the location/address is outdated here on Yelp! read more

I recently found out Andrew Lawlor banned me since March 2024 and no one told me even though I had been calling every few months to see what was available. Every time I called, the recruiters told me that they didn't have anything, and to call back in a few weeks, for the past year. I was able to speak to Andrew to find out why he banned me and he said, "there was too much back and forth," last March when I inquired about a missing travel reimbursement payment that I never got. This review is long overdue from last year. So this is what happened last April/March 2024, and why Andrew Lawlor banned me. I had to deal with the most incompetent coordinator named Celeste Deleon. There where at least 4 appointments that I showed up for, just to find out that the doctor that I was suppose to see either, left early, called out that day, wasn't in that day, etc... and my appointment had to be rescheduled. A huge inconvenience and waste of my time and resources to get there. Celeste never bothered to call me or text me in advance to tell me not to come in those days. Then she picked one of those days to passive aggressively not to give me my travel mileage reimbursement for one appointment, after I complained to her about yet another scheduling error she created by not marking me down for an appointment and allowing my appointment slot to be given to someone else. This is called retaliation. Then after I inquired about my missing travel mileage she continued to be rude, passive aggressive, and sent me passive aggressive text messages. I spoke to the outreach Director Andrew Lawlor who said he couldn't give me my travel mileage for that one day-- which made no sense at all because I received travel mileage reimbursement for all the other days of scheduling errors. I even complained to Andrew about Celeste's passive aggressive rude behavior which he completely ignored. I tried to escalate this issue one more time to get a resolution and to be extra thorough giving them a chance to correct their errors. Andrew told me that the Chief Operations Officer Dalia Botros would call me back, and I followed up after waiting for her call for weeks. I have been waiting for Dalia Botros to call me back for over a year now. Now last week, I just found out Andrew Lawlor banned me after I complained and tried to escalate my complaint. This is called retaliation and it's illegal. I will be reporting CNS actions to the appropriate reporting agencies and I will reach out to their sponsors to inform them of CNS shady illegal practices. The last thing I have to say is, you know something is wrong when a company has to pay people to leave good reviews. CNS Los Alamitos gives out $5 gift cards to anyone who leaves a positive review. They have paid me a $5 Jacks gift card to write a positive review last year, but I deleted my review when I found out how terrible they are. So all the positive reviews you read about CNS are paid for. They are scammers, CNS is the absolute worst. Do your self a favor. Volunteer somewhere else where they treat you with respect. read more

I thought the staff was great. The food was very good. I had no problems whatsoever. I am coming back.

Went there for a sudy as a healthy older adults, to help in the research for ALZ. The facility was very clean, two employees stood out as giving great patient/customer service. One gentleman goes by the name of OC and the other gentleman's name is Toupee. I was there for 2 and half days for the study and it was a pleasant experience.
