Extremely Disappointed - Felt Like a Money Grab I brought my mother to Center of Beautiful Smile with Dr. Pham for a first appointment. She has Denti-Cal, and while that shouldn't mean substandard care, the whole experience felt like a strategy to squeeze money from us. From the start, the approach was cold. Dr. Pham seemed unapproachable and rushed. My mom didn't even receive a cleaning at her first visit, just a quick exam where suddenly several cavities and a deep cleaning were diagnosed. This was strange considering my mom had seen another dentist just 5 months earlier who found no such issues. But the real red flag came during the attempt to schedule treatment. We were told the deep cleaning was covered by Denti-Cal, but they insisted we pay $100 out-of-pocket for a "gingival irrigation with medicated solution." As a registered dental hygienist, I know exactly what this procedure is--and I know that it does not cost $100. Most honest offices use chlorhexidine, which costs around $20 a bottle. Others simply use diluted hydrogen peroxide or mouthwash, totaling maybe $3 at most. This office tried to charge $100 for something that costs pennies. When I politely refused the irrigation, I was told I couldn't refuse it. Why not, if it's not covered and optional? At that point, I introduced myself as a dental hygienist and explained that I would administer the irrigation myself separately. Suddenly, the staff said they had to "check with the doctor" to see if she would still see my mom. We never heard back. Shameful behavior. This kind of upselling, especially to vulnerable patients on Denti-Cal, is unethical and disgraceful. I will never return, and I highly recommend others seek care elsewhere where transparency, honesty, and compassion are prioritized. read more

I had braces for 4 years in high school and like many others, stopped wearing my retainers after a few months due to foolishness and laziness. I eventually lost my original retainer, and had to buy a replacement for my shifted, no-longer straight teeth. From the front, my teeth looked straight, but I knew my teeth, primarily the bottom, were crooked. Eventually I switched dentists once I graduated college and became a working adult, and throughout the years, every cleaning visit, my new dentist would ask if I wanted to do Invisalign. This was pretty embarrassing and made me feel insecure and guilty, especially for wasting my parents' hard earned money! Eventually I got a quote, which was an absurd amount, so I did some digging and asking around, and found Dr. Chris Pham based on a friend's recommendation. I checked out his Instagram page and really liked his work, which showcased many patients with similar situations to me (as well as patients with no prior corrections) and countless impressive Before and After photos. I was initially estimated to take 12 weeks, but eventually needed 8 more weeks of refinement due to a problem tooth on the bottom. I've attached a photo of my bottom teeth correction after 8 weeks. The results speak for themselves! Besides fixing my bottom teeth, there were also minor corrections on the top teeth I didn't even realize I needed (the details!). I had totally forgotten what it was like to have perfect teeth, and it t feels amazing! I'm in love with how my smile looks like a naturally perfect smile. A dentist friend of mine even commented that I have "model teeth." What a compliment! And another friend of mine asked if I have veneers. Nope, no veneers, just the magic of Dr. Pham. Also, completely related, I stopped getting nightmares about my teeth falling out. Overall, I'm beyond pleased with my results and would recommend Dr. Chris Pham and his awesome staff to ANYONE. Linda the front desk agent that answered my call was very insensitive to my situation. I had to cancel two times because of emergency gallbladder surgery and then another emergency procedure, so per their policy I am now only able to be seen if anyone else cancels. It's been 3 months of calling during the week. I called again to see if maybe they would make an exception, but they very coldly said that's their business policy. I would love to be able to say that Dr. Chris is great, as based upon the reviews here, it would seem to be the case. Unfortunately, I doubt that I'll have the opportunity to do that, given as how I called over 2 weeks ago to sign up as a new patient. The office staff (Gabi?) was of little help when I mentioned I had Guardian Insurance; and instead of assisting with insurance verification, she directed me to contact my insurance to ensure it was a PPO. After hanging up, following her direction and confirming it was a PPO, I called back and still was not given an appointment! Instead, she indicated she would need to confirm my insurance and would give me a call back to schedule an appointment. Why have me do that, if she was only going to call herself to confirm? And as a provider that works in health care, I get it. I know things can get busy and emergencies come up. However, it's now been 2 weeks and I have yet to hear back. I will be looking elsewhere for my dental care unfortunately. read more

My son has had a lot of work done at this office. He needed sedation due to the pain in his back it is hard for him to sit for any length of time. He has had multiple fillings fall out in the first six months and a crown that had to be redone. I found this place through an ad And brought my brother who is disabled here. I was very impressed with how friendly everyone in the office was and how patient and gentle they were treating him. This review is over due!! My kids and I have been coming to this office for a very long time ( they are teenagers now) and all what I have to say is positive things about the staff in this office! Starting from the ladies who work at the front , Linda and Veronica, they are wonderful and they always make you feel welcome! This is a great local dental office with warm and welcoming staff. The staff is knowledgeable right in step with the dentist to make sure you understand what you need to do to maintain proper dental care. The dentist is without words the best I have had! I have had to have cosmetic interventions such as extractions, braces, invisalign, and each dentist had "their treatment plan" and that meant if something went wrong the result was adverse and we as patients only have one set of teeth. She knows how to analyze x-rays in a way that provides the true reason for a specific type of treatment. She doesn't pass passive or explicit judgement if you teeth are not this notion of "perfect" nor your socio-economic status with the insurance your have attained. She is young and vibrant and enjoys her craft and that vibrancy resonates within her dental office.
