UPDATE: Our family sees Dr. Hunt and he is awesome! He's really easy to talk to, as well as patient and he explains everything really well. We have been really happy with Dr. Hunt and highly recommend him! As for the office, it's nice to be able to schedule appointments online and they allow you to pre-check in before appointments. It's easy to get ahold of someone when you call, and the office is really good about seeing you right at your scheduled appointment time. read more

The front office staff is horrible. Booked a facial appointment found out that I could not make the date and time called back. Spoke with the staff got it changed for the following week an hour later. Showed up for my appointment on time 15 minutes early and was told that I was late advised that I wasn't l late and they stated that I was late because my appointment was for an hour earlier and I stated that that was incorrect. My original appointment was for the earlier time and that we had scheduled for a later time and was told that I will be charged the $75 fee and if I wanted to rebook, I'd be charged another $75. During that time, a gentleman stated that he had just drove over an hour to get to the facility and they changed his time and was also in the same boat that I was. Needless to say, I will never go back to this location and would advise people to stay away or make sure you're calling every day to confirm your appointment. It appears that they don't know their own times that the appointments are scheduled for.O read more

The providers would be a 4 or a 5. But after coming here for years, I tried calling both the Gilbert and Chandler locations to get in for a concern. (Fair skin with a history of pre-cancerous spots.) Both numbers now are answered by people clearly not in the office; they were both rude and unhelpful. They didn't listen to my concerns at all and I felt like I was talking to robots. The woman who answered the Sun Lakes number sounded like she was on a windy mountain top; seems like they hired a service to handle the calls and it's a definite downgrade. I'm disappointed I need to find new providers, but if I can't make an appointment then I guess I have no choice. read more

I have been going there for 4-5 years and like them a lot. They listen to your needs and offer suggestions as well as samples. Nearby residence but they have other locations, as I am told. Specialist I go to is only there on Wednesdays and works out well for me. read more

The Center for Dermatology and Plastic Surgery is more focused on your money, not your health. I called to let them know I could not keep my appointment and rescheduled it. I arrived for my reschedule appointment and was told the doctor was not in. I couldn't wait another month to see a doctor so I made an appointment with another company. I still kept my 2nd rescheduled appointment but when I ask the to share my records they canceled it. I miss an appointment and so did they. In my book this makes us even. Sadly this business has sent a $50 missed appointment fee for collection. This is no way to run a business. read more

I found Center for Dermatology through my insurance provider, Aetna. I was scheduled with Dr. Jefferson Hunt. I arrived and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist, Tamson. I waited in the waiting area about 10 minutes and Mallory arrived to take me back to a room. Mallory was friendly, professional and seemed empathetic to my issues. Dr. Hunt was nice and informative. This place is a total scam. Find another doctor. This one submitted fraudulent charges to my insurance. I spent less than 15 minutes with the provider for a complex closure from my MOHS and he billed for an 30-40 minute E&M with a tissue rearrangement. None of that happened. I'm filing for a board hearing as well as a fraud claim with my insurance. Also, I waited over 2 hours for my appointment. Horrible. Also, despite making regular payments (2 x a month) although I thought to be predatory and threatening they turned me over to collections for less than $300. A consumer rights attorney has been engaged. Integrity matters. read more

This place is a scam. They over charged me on my copay and when I found out that was the case from my insurance company, they told me it was "to cover any outstanding balances on my accounts" what? I went for an office visit. They did not explain that at the visit and when I mentioned that to the office their response was "that's not my fault, it's the front offices." Dr. Is nice but their customer service, billing, & communication needs major improvements. What was supposed to be a $50 copay ended up being $300 due to them billing incorrectly under the wrong doctor. Has been 3 months & still cannot get ahold of anyone as they outsource their calls so you will never talk to anyone directly at the practice. They also rescheduled my appointment DAY before & when I showed up at rescheduled time no one changed their scheduling & didn't know what to do with me when I got there. Took 20 minutes to figure out that someone did reschedule me & I did show up at the correct time. Better to go somewhere else where you won't end up with a surprise bill 5x the amount, deal with months of unanswered calls, & actually know when your appointment is. read more

This location is in need an office manager. If they have one already, it is time to move on to someone new. The doctors and PAs here have all be excellent over the years. However, just getting an appointment with the Plastic Surgery side is right next to impossible. If you expect them to answer the phone, you are in for a surprise. If you leave a message and expect a call back, you are in for a surprise. The desk and scheduling people could truly care less about patients. The entire front office staff is rude, They charged me for a service that the Dr never told me would cost me anything, then after paying my copay, charged me additional, I paid the additional and they then charged me again. I saw Dr. Jefferson for a routine skin check. I'm over 40 and have fair skin so felt it should be necessary to have a dermatologist look over my skin. I checked in online and when I arrive there was no one at the desk. I had a seat and waited for someone to return. 10 minutes after my appointment time, someone came out and asked if I had been helped which I had not. She then took my name and told me some one would call me back soon. The office is very clean and modern. I was given a cloth gown instead of a paper gown which was really nice. The provider entered the room about 10-15 minutes later. He was very kind, but sat REALLY close to me as he was introducing himself and getting a history. Since I had never had a skin check before, I didn't know what to expect, but I would have thought I would have had a more thorough check as it seemed he was just glancing at areas and looking at them with a light. He asked if I had any skin concerns, which I did not, but I also don't know what I should be concerned over. He mentioned a few things that he discovered, but was given a very brief verbal explanation and simply told to wear sunscreen. I suppose it's a good thing that that's all I was told, but I expected more discussion about what skin care products I'm using and what types/brands would be best for my skin. In the end, it wasn't a bad visit, just a little more casual than I expected. I was told I didn't need to return unless there are concerns, but I still don't know what I should and shouldn't be concerned about. read more

I am so mad that I decided to go here and get a small keloid on my elbow removed by Dr. Kelly. The original scar was smaller than my pinky nail and as a result I am left with a scar that is 100x worse than what I originally had. I spent lots of money on working towards getting better skin just to be left feeling helpless about it's current state. I got the procedure done in December and now it's already been almost 3 months post procedure and my elbow is still healing and hurts whenever I bend it. I decided to go elsewhere to get treatment from a different doctor, but this is infuriating to me and is actually affecting me quite a bit. read more

Dr. Hunt had zero personality and seemed to have zero interest in my questions regarding skincare. He offered sunblock as the best and only solution for me to want to take care of my skin. I asked about regimens and his response was to say that most men don't wanna deal with product on their faces and that they don't really do anything. I guess the entire industry of cosmetic care is garbage from that point of view. He briefly said something about retinol, but did not offer any additional information. I will not be seeing him again. Zero sense of humor or empathy. It's as if he hates his job and he's tired of during dealing with questions like mine. he did conduct a thorough recheck of my skin for any potential issues regarding skin cancer. But that was about it. that didn't have much input one way or the other. read more

Frustrated with billing. Called and scheduled appointment for basic skin check. This is covered by my insurance. I received a bill for appointment and was told the office did not use the code required by my insurance for a skin check, but rather for a general appointment. Very frustrated with the staff and the office manager Beth. We are not new to this location. We have spent out of pocket dollars at this establishment. After our daughters visit I immediately sent the office manager an email regarding the experience our learning delayed daughters visit. I briefly spoke to Beth who seemed to understand. My first two emails did not go through, however, that same email went through twice after and I spoke to an employee confirming Beth's email address as well as I left Beth a detailed voice mail. To date I have not heard back from Beth regarding our visit. If you have an adult handicap child this is not the place for you as their staff does not know how to communicate with people with disabilities and their family members. In closure and a repeat statement, our daughters appointment was late September and to date I have heard nothing back from this office. There are many choices in Arizona and I recommend you choose another location who's staff will respect patients. read more

He was sure what it was and explained that it was running down a nerve line and he could inject with cortisone to give it a boost for faster healing and an RX to continue the healing and hopefully cure. We had such a great experience here! We saw a dermatology's for my son to get an aggressive mole removed and had to have stitches. They would kind and listened to him, made him feel comfortable and relaxed. The nurse talked to him about school and kept him talking so he didn't get scared. They are great with kids! My son saw P.A. Feist as a new patient for his acne and discussed oral antibiotics versus creams. The P.A. decided to put him on 2 different face medications even though we told him he isn't good about using daily creams and is better about taking oral medications. The P.A. decided to send in 2 expensive cream prescriptions to a pharmacy they work with. I called the office back and left a message last week for the P.A. but no one called me back so I called again on Monday and was called back by a medical assistant who said we would have to pay another copay to discuss an oral antibiotic option again even though she was in the room for my sons visit she did not document our conversation about an oral medication but acknowledged she remembered P.A. Feist talking about an oral medication. Asked for an office manager to call me. The next day an office manager called me and said we would have to pay another copay and see the supervising physician to discuss oral medications. No help. This practice only cares about the money. I would not recommend anyone coming here. read more

Talk about quick and easy! I called for an appointment yesterday. Originally they had an appointment for a week away, but it was the day I was flying out for a week. They looked and were able to get me in first thing this morning. They had a portal to fill out the paperwork which was quick and easy and kept me from having to arrive early to do paperwork. The Dr immediately knew what the dry spots on my face were and called in a prescription. I have a followup next month with a full body check, which everyone should have annually. MUCH better than someplace else I went to last year who seemed too bored to do more than a cursory glance. Update: there were some items (like the compression garment) that I was told was included in the price. Several months later I received a bill from some unknown company for $80. I called the Center and they said I had already paid it and could disregard it. I received another one this month, and called again. It turns out it was NOT included and I do owe this bill. I find this disturbing on two account... I always pay my bills on time and HOPE they haven't put a negative mark in my credit since I haven't paid it, per the Centers instruction. PLUS... I now have to pay an extra $80 I wasn't aware of. read more

On my first visit the first doctor I was examined by said I did not have Eczema but I had Scabies which is treatable. He gave me a prescription and made a follow up call for a week later, on Wednesday. Two days prior to that appointment I had the worst outbreak of my life and went back to the office. My first doctor was off that day and a second doctor examined me. He said I did have Eczema, not Scabies and said to follow up with my original doctor in two days. I did. My first doctor told me I had a combination called Scabies/Eczema and gave me a prescription. Along with the prescription he told me to purchase a skin moisturizer cream CeraVe in the 16 ounce size. He also gave me a discount coupon for $2.00 saying this is the cream to buy. Now here is where this gets interesting. I go to the pharmacy to get the prescription. Then I head over to the section for the cream. Wow, its $20. But I have the coupon that will save me $2.00. Now I notice on the shelf next to the CeraVe Creme is a much larger plastic container, 26 ounces of a moisturizer cream by Jergens for only $5.95. I look at the label and the ingredients look the same. So I wander over to the pharmacist window and ask him to tell me what the difference is between the two products. He examined the labels and told me both creams are the same. So I ask him why my doctor told me to buy the really expensive cream. He asked me to show him the discount coupon. He then showed me the barcode at the bottom. He told me that is how the doctor gets his commission for telling me to buy that specific product. The barcode tracks the originating doctor's office and that office gets a check form the manufacturer. So my doctor wants me to spend $18.00 instead of $5.95 so he can make a commission. Disappointing interaction with front office on every occasion. We really wanted to see Dr. Hunt to get established but...... first time I called, was told they were having technical issues with their internet. Rep took all our info, offered appt times I accepted then, assured me she would call back to verify within 24 hours. Nothing. I called back a day and half later to check on the offered appointment times and determine if further information was needed only to be told we were not in the calendar for those offered appointment times. This rep offered me appointments on a later date, which I accepted and verified date and time. Today, I get a text to confirm these appointments only to notice that the time of the appointment is not what was offered. Called office to explain these were not the appointment times we were offered and the incorrect ones will not work with our schedules. She just cancelled the appointments. Did not offer any replacement appointments. I left the call by stating I guess I'll just call back to reschedule. However, after the lack of professionalism I have experienced just trying to set an appointment to get established for a dermatology skin check, I believe I will be seeking a different doctor. read more

This review has been a long time coming. If you have a child that suffers from acne, you know that you will go to the ends of the earth to find a solution and it's a journey you don't wish on anyone. I began going to their Scottsdale location 5 years ago and drove 30 miles one way to see Dr. McCracken for my daughter on a recommendation from a friend. Dr. McCracken is excellent. He dispelled any fears I had of Accutane and explained the pros and the cons to me, passionately at that. Accutane is simply a miracle for anyone with acne. Thank you, Dr. McCracken. We were thrilled when we found out they were opening an office closer to home, because unfortunately we had to go through a second round of Accutane (which entails a monthly visit). Enter David Feist - THE BEST. He is a pleasure to deal with. He has a lighthearted approach and makes you feel comfortable. Both my daughter and I adore him. He always has a big smile, speaks directly and not down to my daughter and reassured her that he truly understood what she was going through. Thanks, David. Finally, I have to say that, for me, a front staff and how the doctor's office is run will either make me come back or never step foot in the office again, no matter how good the doctors are. With that being said, I was so happy to see Beth at the Gilbert location and even more happy to find out she was managing the office. The entire time we were commuting to Scottsdale she was the first and usually the last person we would see. She has such a great attitude and will go out of her way to try and accommodate any requests that I've had. I've had the same experience in the Gilbert office, so her can-do attitude must be contagious with her people in the office. Thank you, Beth. You are a rock star! Due to their scheduler's mistake, they tried telling me I'd need to make 2 appointments to be seen. Clearly not right or ethical to make patient pay 2 office visits for what should have been handled in one visit. If I had not had told the scheduler initially about the items I needed to be seen for, that would be understandable however, that was not the case. After being a patient for several years I was prescribed a topical ointment that I had an allergic reaction to. I called the after hours line and was greeted by someone highly energetic and helpful who said she would pass a message onto my provider. I never heard anything back from my provider. So 48 hours later I called the triage line. Left a message and never heard back. 72 hours after my visit I got an email to leave a review. Which I did, and asked for a call back to discuss my discrepancy. 2 months later and I still haven't heard anything. I'll be going elsewhere moving forward. It's sad because my entire family goes here and I've referred many friends. I'll be telling them to go elsewhere. read more

Today I went in for a standard mole check. It was my first visit to this business. The interior is very clean and bright, with spacious exam rooms. Reception area was nice. They carry some of the best skincare brands in the industry. I saw P.A. Brian McArther. He was very nice and answered all of my questions clearly and professionally. I did not feel rushed and he made sure I didn't have any further questions or concerns before ending our visit. My First impression of the two receptionists is definitely short on star power. The dark haired girl sitting on the right facing computer did not ever smile or look at me once in the eyes when I tried to talk to her. She was very robotic and extremely unapproachable to say the least. The blonde girl on the left computer was somewhat less stiff, but also lacked any engaging qualities or customer interaction experience I would expect from a facility of this caliber. Both "girls" appeared young and expressed that in their actions. I saw them giggling a few times and turning away while quietly snickering under their breath as a few people checked in and were walking away from the counter to take a seat. Very unprofessional and inappropriate behavior for any front of house professional. I asked several questions about the skincare line and when neither girl showed any interest whatsoever in selling me skincare products or at least finding someone who was, I finally stopped asking about them and sat back down. When a customer is visiting a business that is supposed to be the highest quality and standard in their industry, the front of house employees should be beyond exceptional at their jobs. I am speechless.  I can't find words to describe my gratitude toward Dr. Kelly and his very professional team. From the beginning they were warm and welcoming, and always ready to answer any of my questions.  They made sure I fully understood the process as English is not my first language.  Dr. Kelly took the time to fully explain my options and the different aspects of my surgery, and was focused on how best to meet my expectations.  He gave me good advice on how to get the results I wanted. It took me some time to commit to the procedure, but he never made me feel as though I wasn't worth taking on as a patient. His honesty, ethics, and professionalism in what he does is what sets him apart from other surgeons.  I highly recommend Dr. Kelly not only for his impeccable work but also because he is one awesome human being.  I am more than happy with my results, and am forever grateful to Dr. Kelly and his staff. read more

Today (June 18th, 2020) I had Mohs surgery to remove a cancerous growth from the top of one of my ears. Dr John Young preformed the procedure and it could not have gone better. Dr Young is down to earth, friendly and it was apparent that he really cares about his patents. As with other professionals at this office Dr Young is highly skilled and exacting in his work. When Cancer is on the table its highly reassuring. I had biopsies taken during my first visit during my second, one affected area was treated and my options were explained for dealing with a more serious problem. At each stage I was very happy I picked this office and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to family and friends. read more

Not sure where to start but beware of this doctors office. Every time I went felt like a money grab with more and more procedures being called for. Unbelievable and so much different than my old dermatologist of 30 years. Sadly he retired this past year. After several I believe to be unnecessary surgeries etc I will be finding a new doctor. The last straw was they screwed up the insurance and are billing me instead of clearing up with the insurance company. Very disappointing experience and somewhat typical of these large groups of doctors. Be careful with this outfit. read more

I'm a patient out of the Gilbert location off Val Vista. I've had two separate visits for two different things within the last month in a half. Everyone is so wonderful especially the doctor's I saw. Each doctor didn't seem like they wanted to just rush me in and out. They explained everything in great detail and didn't just use doctor talk, but language I could understand. They each took the time to answer all of my questions too which trust me I felt like I had a ton of. I specially favored Dr Feist! Very upset!!! Was seeing David Feist he did a biopsy Ashley called back weeks later to say that I had a cancer on my face. Set up an appt again could not come in for 2 weeks to have it removed. Never explained the severity of this. Then the office called me 2days before the surgery to tell me that the doctor doing the removal was not contracted with my insurance and I would have to pay 1500 to 3000 to have it done and would need payment that day. I scrambled to get another referral to another skin doctor and an appointment with them. I was very worried not having any info on this cancer! I assumed when an office does a biopsy and accepted my copays for ongoing appointments this year that the doctors would be able to do the removal. Doctor Young's assistant Ashley is cold and uncaring for not calling me sooner to let me know this. I can't believe I was treated this way!! I canceled my future appts along with my husbands. I understand that some docs are not contracted with Blue Cross but to wait this long to tell me after treating me for months is unacceptable !! Do not use this office.
