Had a flawless appointment with Dr. Garcia! Her staff got me in at my exact appointment time and were all very sweet. I asked for a syringe of lip filler to get some extra volume in my upper lip. These qtips with local numbing cream made the numbing injections nearly painless and then the lip filler injections were pain free! Dr. Garcia took before and after photos, gave me suggestions for a natural appearing pattern to appear balanced, and explained exactly what she was going to do. I had an incredibly disappointing experience with this eye doctor. My physician referred me because they were concerned about a spot on my eye that has been causing me significant pain and discomfort--to the point where I often can't even keep my eye open. When the doctor came in, they immediately dismissed my concerns, saying it was just a cosmetic issue, without taking the time to properly examine my eye. Despite me explaining the pain I've been experiencing, and the increasing irritation over the last three years they told me it shouldn't hurt and refused to prescribe anything or recommend any treatment. To make matters worse, the doctor said I should come back when my eye is inflamed, but they have a three-month waiting list for appointments, making that impossible. I can't just show up when the problem occurs, and the doctor refused to provide any interim solutions or treatment recommendations. I felt completely dismissed and unheard. If you're looking for a doctor who will take your concerns seriously and provide real care, I would not recommend this office. read more

Dr Garcia is good, but always late and rushed. The wait is long the appointment is short and scripted. She is templated by what insurance "usually" does. She will not go out of her way for anything you need that is different than others. If your TED symptoms are not exactly like all the others there is no ambition to go outside the box and help you. Came here for my first Halo treatment about 6 months ago. Denise was the doctor who did my laser procedure and she is absolutely amazing. She wanted to ensure I was satisfied with the treatment and results. We kept in contact almost everyday post treatment for a couple weeks to make sure my skin was healing properly. I couldn't have been more happy with the results from this procedure. It shrunk my pore size significantly and helped with acne scarring and overall skin texture. I had upper and lover eyelid surgery by Dr. Denise Garcia, who was recommended by my optometrist. My surgery was rushed by the entire team at Southwestern Eye Center. My appointment was the last one on a Friday evening of a 3-day holiday weeked. Everyone was eager to get out of there and I felt like they were rushing me and that I was not their main concern. Upon discharge from the Center, I was given the telephone number to call in event of questions over the long weekend. There were serious complications from the surgery which showed up the next day. I attempted three times during the wekend to reach a doctor for advice. After my first call to the answering service, a doctor called and told me to wait and call Dr. Garcia at her office on Tuesday. After my second call to the answering service, a doctor from the wrong eyeclinic called me. On my third call, the answering service said they had the correct information and I would just need to wait for the doctor to call me. They never did call. When I had my first post surgery appointment with Dr. Garcia, she informed me that I had a hematoma in my right lower eyelid, that this was common and would heal in about three weeks. I informed her about my failure to get any help from the answering service and she said all I needed to do was call her number, leave a message and she would get back to me. In the next few weeks, prior to my next appointment, I had multiple concerns regarding swelling, bleeding, infection, vision changes (loss) and hullacinations. Dr Garcia nor her staff returned any of my calls. I was very fearful of a Retro orbital hemorrhage (by reading about my symptoms online), which can cause blindness within 90 minutes. During all of my post surgery appointments with Dr. Garcia, she rushed me through with her very fast talk, assuring me that all was going well, and dismissing my concerns and questions. After 5 months since surgery, I still have bruising (she called it discoloration) under my eyes . I will not be seeing her again or referring her to anyone. She DID NOT take good care of me. read more

Dr. Garcia fixed a drooping eyelid (ptosis) on my left eye with a short and painless in-office procedure in about 35 min. She and her assistant were very skilled and organized. The recovery time with little bruising was minimal (about a week) and the pain very manageable. The front-office staff was helpful and took good care of me and I really like the outcome. Had to book an appointment with an ophthalmologist due to a nasty stye in my eyelid that wouldn't go away. Just did a random Google search and luckily Dr Garcia was right around the corner from me. She was very knowledgeable and friendly and put me on a prescription to see if it would help. Came back a month later, it did improve however we already knew she would drain it if it didn't significantly improve. Hopefully I don't have any more eye stye issues but if I do I would no doubt go back and see Dr Garcia and her ever so helpful staff read more

I was referred to Desert Eyesthetics by my general eye center. They called to set up the appointment for me. Initially I was told at the time of the first call that they didn't take my version of Medicare. But the appointment was scheduled and I received a call from DE, saying that they took my version of Medicare. They asked for both my Medicare card and my Humana PPO, which I have used at the Mayo Clinic, for a specialist who is a Dermatologist. I have a very serious skin disease which is similar to having a severe sunburn, that does not heal, so my chronic pain is 24/7. Anyway they took my info and indicated that all was good, including asking for an email confirming that I would be there for the appointment, in which I replied affirmatively. My eyes have severe pain, which is why I went to my optometrist. He was very concerned and suggested that I need surgery on my lower eyelids, which is why he referred me to DE. Anyway back to my appointment, after all of the calls and completion of paperwork, I show up early for my appointment. I was very excited at the prospect of possible relief for my eye pain with a consult to confirm my needs. My appointment was at 3 PM, which I did not complain because it was a very quick scheduling. But for someone with my skin condition it is painful to go outside in those conditions, meaning Phoenix, it was 112 degrees. But I was really wanting the specialized help so I went. What was most upsetting was to find out that they had put the fault with the other office. And I just sat there waiting for my appointment, thinking everything was set. Only to find out that they could not take my "version" of Medicare and when I asked if they could call to set up the new appointment, in Scottsdale, they refused as far as I'm concerned. After that the doctor didn't have the professional courtesy to tell me herself, a staff member basically said too bad. I suppose she was the office manager. And her staff had no empathy at all. For me, it's was worse to have half hearted apologies but no one really cared. I was an executive for a very large company, a fortune 5 company, at one time I was the Director of all channels of our business for the state of New Mexico. I have a very broad idea of customer care and service, including proper care of a situation where the customer has no fault in th Very upsetting and disappointing. Ok I am back, I have rescinded by 1 star and given the clinic, run by Dr Garcia and staff a 5 star. Why such a drastic change you may ask? Anyone can make a mistake in business or life, but it's how you take care of things. I received a call the very next morning from Dr. Garcia, unfortunately I was not able to take the call, but she left a very professional message and asked for me to call her back. I did, left her a message, I know she has a practice to run, but we connected the same day. I went through my perspective and listened to hers, which I do understand how difficult different insurance types can be to deal with, in my case Medicare but with complications that I was not aware of. However simply the biggest reason for changing my review is very simple; Dr. Garcia apologized for my inconvenience. When I was in the customer service world with a world class corporation, one of the most important aspects I would teach employees, from management to front line was to apologize to the customer. It doesn't matter who is right, the customer is, even if their wrong. It almost always quickly diffused a situation without it getting out of hand, a sincere apology. Dr. Garcia clearly understands this simple but somehow so often forgotten aspect of taking care of your customers. She has even set up my appointment for tomorrow morning.
