During the first visit I was prescribed a Zpak, which my primary care physician told me was the equivalent of candy for the treatment. On one occasion I didn't book an appointment since they advertise "walk-ins welcome" (if you'd like to wait 3 hours and consistently be bumped down the wait list. My one star equals zero stars so I can warn people not to go here.

When I had a concern recently I made an appointment and was seen without delay, which is a plus. Even if a problem is not life threatening it eases anxiety to be seen quickly and I was. This time the office staff was polite enough, but not very welcoming. Dr Harre was not as attentive as she had been in the past. I felt like my concern was not taken seriously. She prescribed an ointment which I had filled but which had no effect. I was not told to return if there was no improvement, which there wasn't. I went to another doctor who did a biopsy. In the end, my concern turned out not to be a serious matter but treating it with an ointment was pointless. My two experiences, many years apart, were like night and day with this office. If I ever need another dermatology visit I will have to look elsewhere.

I was really hurting, and they took care of me with such care and professionalism. 1) They were proactive, constantly reaching out to me to make sure I had all of the appointments I needed, and they were always available to speak on a phone call. Their operation is incredibly well-oiled and organized. 2) Everyone from the receptionist, to the lab technician, to the physicians expressed real, genuine concern for my well-being. Their kindness meant so much. And I could see them interacting similarly with all of the other patients. 3) I had seen several teams of physicians, totaling probably 15 medical professionals prior to coming to Rheumatology Associates, and no one could crack the case of what was wrong with me. Dr. Kerouack and Dr. Gartner figured it out immediately, and quickly had me on the mend. I'm so thankful to this wonderful organization! I hope you don't need this kind of medical help, but if you do, you want to go here!

Since 2001, I've had my feet surgically corrected, CMC surgery on my left thumb, and, more…read morerecently, a successful right shoulder ablation. The same great physicians are still there, and they've accurately diagnosed me with Grade 4 osteoarthritis in my left shoulder, right hip, and left knee through objective medical findings. My PCP, who handles referrals, followed OA's guidelines perfectly. What I appreciate about OA is that they're true orthopedic specialists--they live and breathe orthopedics--so if you've got hemorrhoids, you're in the wrong place, PA or not. My next appointment is coming up, and I'm expecting the same relief they've always provided. Big thanks to Dr. Asherman, Dr. Hanna, and Dr. Wolf! And I haven't forgotten the physical therapists who work you hard--thanks to them, I'm still on my feet at my age. OA might have changed, but the people remain the same, even if my other reviews are gone.

Recent carpal tunnel surgery was efficient…read more(left wrist) My other wrist was done by ordinary surgery and I experienced a longer recovery with some lingering pain for a couple of months. OA of Maine uses a percutaneous release with ultrasound leaving a tiny scar, very short recovery, and no need for physical therapy (PT). Obviously each case is different. My previous surgery was a mini-open release which required considerable PT. But bear in mind that the orthopedic surgeon will advise the best procedure for your particular anatomy and issue.
