Great job and service at VERY reasonable prices. They do take walk-ins, and I noticed moms and daughters coming in together for their nail services. I always get good service here. Pretty results for the price. Staff is friendly. They usually aren't very chatty. That is ok with me but if you think you will feel ignored or awkward this one may not be for you. I tried to get my nails done here but I guess they don't like money..I showed up 35 minutes before they closed wanting a gel manicure and was told to "come back tomorrow." When I pointed out what time they closed the girl just said not enough time tonight. At max my nails would have kept them 10 minutes after closing. I went here and paid $30 for a shellac manicure which is priced appropriately. The problem was that the manicurist really went hard on my nails and scratched the skin off of my nails when she was buffing my nails to remove the shellac. This happened 2-3 times and made my fingers sore and raw for about 2 days. I will not be going back to this place. They did not take their time nor do they care about their work. read more

Center Nails is a great, affordable location for nails. The techs are very attentive, and they always remember to do the little things during your visit. My only complaint is I haven't had great luck with my manicures lasting very long, but the pedicures will get you at least 3 weeks of beautiful toes. read more

There is a review of this business that, as a long time (5+years) loyal customer, I have to call out. She listed prices that are not even remotely close to this Center Nail's prices, so I can't help but wonder if the reviewer had the wrong store. Nu and her staff are amazing. They all speak great English, are sweet, helpful, polite and professional. I am REALLY fussy about my nails, I used to spend $75 for a pink and white fill, but since finding Center Nails, I now spend $70 for my fill, a spa pedi and tips. I've been coming here for at least 5 years and never once have I had a bad experience. Nu, the owner, also does eyelashes and she's great. There unfortunately some people who are never happy, so my guess is that the 1 and 2 stars are that type of person, and/or the staff might have been having a bad day. I have been coming here for over 10 years now and I can't say enough good things about the place! I refuse to go anywhere else. I used to get acrylics, now I do gel, I get waxed and in the last 2 years I converted to having my lashes done as well. I figured I'd give them a shot since I was there consistently for nails anyways and Nu did a better job than my fancy place and was less expensive! All my friends get theirs done here as well. The place is clean, all the girls are friendly, they do a fantastic job and if you are not satisfied they will fix it! I was surprised by many of the negative reviews....especially the one about not getting a good massage with their pedicure??? Did you try asking them to massage more? I guarantee they would have done it...just tell them what you want and you aren't happy and they'll make it right. There has been a manicurist or 2 that haven't been the best, but the owner catches on quickly and they don't stay long. So if you had a bad experience, I say try it again as you could have had one of the technicians who were not there long. Their current and core team is amazing!! I came to the Kirkland area about two years ago and could not find anyone consistant. I have been with Center Nails for about 1 1/2 years and I'm a regular. I agree that the fact that they hire non-English speaking people is a barrier but hey, I pay my money and I tip well so if it seems as if the person doesn ot understand I just ask who can translate. It is no spa but it is clean and affordable and the longest lasting mani-pedis I've found including all the really expensive ones around. Have been here in the past and service was better,maybe just a bad day. However, I came in here yesterday for a pedicure with my friend and we both noticed the water was cold (not something you expect when getting a pedicure). Then the liners they use in the bowls did not seem very effective water was constantly going underneath them and they would get caught up in the bowl. I used to go to this salon and get my nails done with my friend. I would get acrylic nails done, and within a week one or more would start to detach from my real nail or the whole thing would come off and I would have to go get them done again. WARTS!!! I was initially really pleased with the french manicure and pedicure I received. The nail tech was friendly and did a fabulous job with painting on the white tips. Unfortunately, about a week later I found that I got a bit more than I had bargained for. The pad of my food where they had used the callus trimmers exploded in a series of small plantars warts. Although easy to treat, these are painful and unsightly. Save your tootsies and go somewhere with better sanitation! read more

Dirtiest salon I have ever seen. Instruments are NOT sterilized. Filthy ones are put back in the same basket with the "unused" ones. All 4 machines used for shellac nails were so filthy I could not even put my hands on them, I held my hands up off the bed of the machine. The grater used to remove callouses had skin embedded on the underside. Have a good look around if you think this is such a great place. Check out the personal manicure tables, and, where the supplies are. Dust and grime everywhere Staff are constantly talking to each other in their native language. Ignoring the customers totally. How rude. State Board and board of Health needs to look into this Lady who did my manicure used cuticle nippers to trim my nails, then a black rough cut emery board to "finish" them! My finger tips are soooo sore from being cut so short. Finished product of my mani pedi looks good but you could NOT pay me enough to go back there. read more

I've been going to Center Nails for about 4 years, mostly summer through fall for pedicures and a cleanup on my cuticles on my hands. I'm a massage therapist, so need to keep my nails short, clean, and buffed. Well, Sunday I went - first one in the shop for my 'usual'. The gal doing the pedicure did a nice job. The last 2 pedicures were quite skimpy on the exfoliation and the polish didn't even last for 2 weeks. But Sunday, was an experience that left me with, "I'll"ll never go back to this place and I'll let my clients know as well. I'm a business owner, in fact, won "Eastside Woman Business Owner of the Year in 2011'. I say this, because I would never think of treating a customer in such a disrespectful manner. My nails were done and I was sitting letting the polish dry from my pedicure. The total for pedicure and a partial manicure (cleaning up cuticles & buffing) was $33 and I gave each gal a $2 tip, so $37 which is a little pricey, but okay. The owner has the audacity to come over as I'm drying the polish from my pedicure and request that I pay $3 more. For what?, I ask. She says buffing. I say, do you realized I have no polish on my nails. Then she barks, let me see your nails! Okay, DRAGON LADY, and in the light of the window my manicure was awful! Still some dirt under my nails, still polish from a sample I tried for my toe color, and the cuticles didn't even look like they had been touched. And buffing, what is it $1 for 20 seconds? Well, she could even see what a lousy job and eventually said., "forget it". Really? A long-term customer over $3 f...ing dollars? I can tell you why they want cash, because they have to pay 1-3% fees every time they swipe a card. They are CHEAP with absolutely no manners or class I want to use my card, I count it as a business expense. As you can tell, I'm still boiling. read more

Feel like I got ripped off and lady doing my nails kept going to do other things as if I'm not her main job. Nails didn't even turn out that great ( had small lumps) Will not be returning. Also nails started peeling after a week!! Shellac lasts me 3 weeks. When I got my receipt, after signing it , lady said she made a mistake and charged $5 more. Left very disappointed. I used to love this place. I never had a bad experience. That is until recently. I went a few months ago. And the lady who was doing my nails was talking on her phone the entire time she did my nails. I felt it was very unprofessional. Then the last time I went the lady didn't cut my nails very short, after I asked for shorter nails. And she didn't even out my nails, so some of them looked weird. Whenever I leave a tip they always seem mad at me for not giving them more money. I always try to leave a $5 tip, which I feel is fair. But apparently they expect more. I've had nice pedicures overall here but they seem to skimp a little on the foot scrubbing and tidying up of calluses-and-such aspect. I mean, I exfoliate my feet regularly but that's no excuse for them to skip it entirely when they do my pedicure. I agree with the other reviewer about being uncomfortable about them talking in Vietnamese the entire time. I lived in Asia for years and I'm comfortable with people staying in their native language, that's fine to an extent, but when they don't talk to you at all, it's kind of unnerving. I've been coming here for years, waay back when it was under diff ownership. They recently updated the paint, decor ect. I love that when i go in, ( especially if its been awhile) it alwys looks fresh and new. Its a warm, cozy place to get a great mani/pedi, and Nu ( think thats how its spelled) is the BEST at acrylics. I used to absolutely love this place a few years ago!!! But lately haven't been happy with the quality of service. I've given this place quite a few chances and I'm sad to say I won't be going here any longer even though it's walking distance from my home. Appointment or not, it always feels as thought clients are being rushed through, and it is starting to show in the quality of their work. The last time I went to get a shellac manicure by appointment, my nail technician was jumping between me and one other person that had an appointment as well. She ended up putting a top coat on only one of my hands too, which I unfortunately didn't notice until I got home. I went in the next day to get it fixed and was told to come back when the same technician was working. I don't have time for this type of service...It's frustrating that good quality service is becoming so hard to find. read more

Atmosphere is pretty nice considering it is in a strip mall. VERY busy - people walking in constantly and they never say no - makes it feel a little rushed. Went in for mani-pedis with my daughters for prom. Pedis were nice - good job on clean up and polish - it's been 5 days and they still look good. Manicures, on the other hand, were really bad. Rushed through and slapped the polish on. One of my daughter's cuticle started bleeding from overexuberant trimming. All 3 of us had french manis and I can do a better job at home. The white was too thick/wide, debris left on the nails that got in the polish and bubbles everywhere. On top of that, chips were showing up the next day (prom day). Not happy. Bottom line, the pedis are worth it - save your money on the manicures. Bleah. read more

First of all, I waited forever to get with a manicurist. Second of all, she was rude and grabbed my hand really forcefully. The ladies were super chatty with each other and didn't engage with me at all. I didn't feel comfortable, and that I was getting what I paid for. Third of all, my friend didn't even get her nails done because it took a half an hour for her to wait there, so she just sat and watched me. Fourth, the lady asked me to pay after she put clear on and WAITED for me to tip her. Literally WAITED. It was insanely rude and I knew I wasn't gonna tip her by then. I mean, I would have if I liked what she did, but I didn't. Fifth and finally, she put like one coat on my nails. And when I asked for another she said no. Do not go here. Shellac manicure looked okay. They made my cuticles bleed on 2 nails by cutting too short, then asked if I had used the brush at the sink when they told me to wash my hands like I had done it....nope! Seemed reasonably clean so hopefully I won't get an infection. Technician was pretty nice and gave me tips on how to get the UV light evenly on my thumb to make the shellac settle better. Not sure I would go back based on the degree of bloody cuticle though. read more
