Here's yet another rip off AC repair company - CAC - Central Air Conditioner. This is one of those companies that charges you for a yearly contract for your whole house, your AC, appliances, minor plumbing, and electric. I can tell you from dealing with 2 of these companies, Atlas and CAC, they are rip off companies. The list in fine print on the back of the contract of what they don't cover, is much longer than what they do cover. They claim we pay for major parts, and the labor is free. But I caught them over charging me on the parts, so they are making money on the parts as well. So you are not getting all that free labor. Atlas charged me $35 for a toilet shut off valve that I found I could buy in Home Depot for $10. And they gave me the cheapest one you can buy. A few weeks ago in July 2023, my AC was not cooling below 82 during the hot afternoons. I called my contract company, CAC, who I paid $288 for a yearly contract, from November 2022 to November 2023. Of course they never sent anyone the same day. How nice of them. The next day this tech arrives, a disgusting looking man, sweaty and stinking of body odor. He was Indian looking, not that that mattered. He comes in with nothing but a temperature gun, and aims it at a few vents. It was about 1 PM. I told the office and him that the AC fails to work from about 2 to 7 PM when it is really hot, then goes back to cooling the house. He goes out and merely looks at the outside unit and tells me everything is working ok now. He didn't perform one diagnostic test on the condenser. I told him it will stop cooling at around 2 PM, and he keeps telling me it's working now, so there is nothing he can do. He had no idea of the amount of freon I had. Then he tells me I should get better insulation in my attic. I told him my house is 30 years old, and I never had a problem cooling the house on a 94 degree day until now. He left and did nothing more. I called CAC to report him as soon as he left. I asked to speak to the owner or supervisor. The receptionist told me Brian was out of the office today, and wouldn't be in until tomorrow. I told her I was sure she could call him. She merely said she would give him the message, and he would call me the next day. The next day I called at 330 PM, and was told he left for the day. Another BS story. I demanded a call back from him. She said she would let him know. The next day I had Island AC come, a company that a few people on here recommended. They found I had a cheap fan motor installed by Dr. HVAC, and I needed 4 pounds of freon, something CAC never saw because they never did any diagnostic test of the unit. The CAC supervisor Brian calls me to ask what happened after one week. After I told him what his tech did and that I had to call another company who installed freon, he agreed that he should have checked out the unit, and he would speak to him. And that was his only level of concern. No mention of reimbursement. I sent a letter to CAC, with a copy of my bill from Island AC, demanding my service contract money to be refunded. Central Air Conditioning is a disgrace to the industry. If I could give ZERO stars or less, then I would. CAC is the biggest fraudulent scam company in the service industry. They take your money for a yearly contract, in my case, almost $400.00 and each time there is a problem they want to charge you for both the labor and parts. STAY AWAY FROM THEM, you will be extremely sorry. I had a problem with the Ice Maker in an LG refrigerator, they wanted three times the price advertised for the part. I bought it and had it installed by a handyman for a third what the CAC scammers wanted to charge. Then I had a problem with an electrical outlet. They charged me more than $100.00 for that. Recently my whole refrigerator and freezer went out. It took them two weeks to get a part for it resulting in me having to throw away more than $600.00 worth of refrigerator and freezer food. Not to forget having no refrigerator/freezer for two weeks. Then the crooks at CAC wanted me to pay them more than $500.00 for the part. I researched it on line and saw many companies including LG selling it for less than half the price that the thieves wanted at CAC. I had renewed my contract with them in August and on November 1st I wrote to them demanding that my contract be cancelled and the remaining ten months be refunded, they FLATLY refused. After waiting for two weeks they kept putting me off and eventually a technician came out and fitted the part. Even he was disgusted that a 73 year old senior citizen had to wait this long for a refrigerator repair. The people who run CAC and some of their so called customer service agents are the rudest and most unprofessional scam artists out there, BEWARE! These low life scammer thieves need to be closed down and by no means should be allowed to continue ripping off senior citizens in south Florida. I wonder how many have experienced this and just done nothing about it, I bet it runs into the hundreds. STAY AWAY FROM CAC, if you do go with them, you will be sorry, they will have you over a barrel for their own good. DESPICABLE, LOW LIFE SCUM who should not be given a license to do business. On September 27th, 2024, I was charged $450 by Central Air Conditioning, Inc. for a leak test and to refill my air conditioning unit with 4 liters of Freon. Today, their technician, James, revisited the site and identified a leak that should have been detected and repaired during the original service on the 27th. After discussing the issue with their field supervisor, Faith, I was met with unprofessional and disrespectful behavior. Instead of addressing my concerns about the service, Faith encouraged me to file a complaint with the BBB or leave a negative review on Google. Faith refused to acknowledge that the problem should have been resolved on the 27th, which is the reason I should not be charged for the repeated work. This lack of responsibility and poor customer service is unacceptable. I will be taking steps to mitigate this situation with the board of my building, with the intention of ensuring that Central Air Conditioning, Inc. is no longer contracted for work in our facility. I requested a refund of the $450 charged on September 27th, as the issue was not properly addressed at that time, leading to further inconvenience and frustration. read more

This is the worst customer service i have ever seen, This company made my mom who is on oxygen and has a Drs note on file , She waited almost 3 days for her AC to be fixed, How dare they do this to someone who is in need of air, I spoke with the Owner and he told be cause we have contract you really dont get the best service in so many words , IF we paid for the stuff on the spot and did not have contract it would have been faster, I am in shock he told me this, The motor had to be replaced so the 2 men were downstairs in the street working on it, The one guy said to Brain lets clean off all this dust that on these fans , HE SAID NO THEY DO NOT PAY FOR THAT, How do i know this well, My president from my complex was with them in the street and he heard him say that , My president even offered to take the fans and clean them himself , He told them my mom is not well and the dust should be off , Brian told him no do not touch it, So they placed the motor back in ceiling with all that dust, I am sick and so upset how inhuman someone can be, Karma is a bitch , Please i beg you people never use this company ever, read more

For the AC they were great....installed a new 4 ton Rheem for less than 4k, and I've had no issues....for the dryer vent it's a different story. Right after After the installation, I called to let them know my dryer was no longer drying the clothes....the secretary put me on hold and said she asked someone & they told her it must be a mechanical issue. Didn't bother to come back & check the vent....I called Mr. Appliance & after inspecting it, they stated nothing was wrong that something was clogged in the vent.....As a result, I called CAC back & was told I had taken too long to call (less than a month?....mind you, I reminded them this wasn't true as I called the next day after vent vacuuming) & would have to pay $125 to come and re-inspect....I asked to speak with the manager, BETH & a week later; I'm still waiting for her to call me back......Horrible, Disingenuous, Reckless company & as such BETH is the right person to lead it, into anonymity! We have had a service contract with CAC since 2015. When we have a problem I immediately call Faith Hess at CAC. She has fantastic customer service skills and arranges immediate assistance. In this case, our A/C stopped working during a heat spell with 90 degree days and in the '80s at night. She sent Rene who diagnosed our problem and offered the only cure, a new A/C. We found his quote the lowest with better equipment than the other 2 quotes we received. The 3 person installation team they sent, arrived on time, worked efficiently, cleaned up perfectly and now our new A/C is providing comfortable days and nights. Thanks to the CAC team. read more

They don't deserve a single star but I had to in order to post my feedback. Absolutely useless service. They sent a technician to fix the dish washer and the tech spent about 7-10 minutes and recommended new parts which would cost ~$315.00. I got a second opinion from my handyman who found the drain pipe misaligned and once he fixed the pipe (cost $7 for a new pipe) the dish washer works fine. The CAC tech was either poorly trained or careless person. I called CAC to complain and they said a supervisor would call to follow up but after a week still no call from CAC. My air conditioning unit needed a new UV light and general check up and Rene was chosen to be the employee to come to my home. He was so very efficient, helpful, polite, pleasant and thorough. In addition, I wanted additional information about a service to be added to my contract when it comes due in the spring. I spoke to Faith and she was a pleasure to speak to. Our ac drain line was backed up. I called at 4 o'clock and they scheduled someone to come out between 1-3 the next day. Mark, a service person who I had not met before, arrived at exactly 1 o'clock. Aside from being very personable he also seemed very knowledgeable. He cleaned out the line so hopefully, with our monthly maintenance, we will not have this problem reoccur again so quickly. read more

These people are crooks. They told me I need to replace my complete 2t AC system in our condo, thank God we called for second opinion. Found out the freon was stollen from the AC and all we need is to refill it. What kind of a crook would not know after a search job (which We paid for) that it only needs freon. The repair guy came within the time range and quickly found out what was wrong with my oven. It was just the prongs of the coil that was bent out of shape.
