Been w/them for 10 years. Interviewed 10 cos. Best price. Great installers. But buy another brand of UV light bulb. The price is ridiculous.

We purchased a new unit Air Conditioning unit less than 2 1/2 years ago and paid $ 25,000 for that AC SYSTEM. The unit failed and we now have over $ 25,000-$ 50,000 worth of home damage After calling for 2 day with no response or call back finally a Cousins Representative came over, agreed it was THEIR fault..and instead of offering us any compensation for them basically destroying our home...they offered us one year of free maintenance, worth $ 500! I wouldn't let them anywhere near my home. They put in faulty units..and then don;t stand by their work. It says the Owner's were a family by the names of John BresciaJr. and Jim Brescia..but of course you can not speak to an Owner.. and employees that take no reponsibilty for the Company's lack of honesty, integrity and RESPONSIBILITY! Our new construction house.... The AC units were installed by finely tuned hackers. We dumped them immediately after taking settlement. Our neighbor has been a long term Cousin's customer and has always been satisfied with their service. We began with Cousins for a maintenance plan. We had issues with the units since installation but Cousin's has always been there to provide service and emergency service when needed. Beware. They lie, and don't take responsibility for their work. They can't even return phone calls. I hired them to do an AC maintenance check and they suggested I get a new "Capacitor'. I did end up buying one from them in Sept of 2023. Just six months later it stopped working. When I called to see if they could fix/replace it they first said they never sold or installed a capacitor to me. I had to find the canceled check to prove it to them. Then they said that anything (a lizard, the wind, etc.) could 'break' the capacitor so there was nothing they could/would do. I called another company who came, sold me a new one, and installed it WITH A 2-YEAR WARRANTY. DO NOT USE COUSINS AIR IF YOU WANT A COMPANY WITH GOODWILL, good service, or care about standing behind their work. read more

I feel sorry for those poor people who leave nasty reviews for companies as good as Cousins Air. I have been their customer for a number of years and was referred by my brother who has used them for many years before that and continues to use them. I have never had anything but personal service which was efficient, fairly priced, with a quality beyond compare. I will go so far as to say that should you get a cheaper price, Ignore it because whatever Cousins air services or supplies is worth every penny. Our unit is still stopping operations about every few weeks. Since my last review the company has been very responsive. Their technicians are sent out the same day. And the manager has been in touch. They sent two technicians who spent several hours on the system. I have to admit that the technicians are all very nice and seem knowledgeable. So now, we just hope our new a/c will continue to work without breaking down. read more

A follow up to previous post. It took 18 hours from the time I called Cousin's Air at 10pm on 7/29 up until 4pm the following day did a repair man come to fix the problem with my ac. To his credit, he was fast and efficient and effectively diagnosed the problem. What happened was the ac kept shutting is as the drain line was getting clogged. My bone of contention is with customer service staff who were indifferent and inefficient regarding communication of when ac repair person was coming. It nightmare dealing with them as I had call multiple time through out the night to get answers that were very vague. Cousin's get an "F" in customer service. I hope can fix this problem. read more

We had cousins install an AC two years ago. Our electric bill went up. It was suppose to be more energy efficient, so that didn't make sense. My wife has been trying to get them to fix this lemon of an AC unit for a year now. It is loud, it makes weird noises. They keep telling us it's fine though. We do not know what to do at this point. Hopefully this helps. Maybe it will get their attention. Come fix this issue or give us a new AC. read more

After speaking with the first agent I realize why the agent was nasty. She had the same poor attitude as the supervisor. Do not use them.....I've been a customer for over 15 years and pay maintenance fee every year. I don't know the benefits of paying because they charge me full price for everything. If I have an emergency they don't care to service our needs. I called for one of our units not working at 6 pm and the earliest they could come was at 3:30 AM. Well I can't speak for the service but I can speak for their driver in truck S52. While driving with my child in the car I got over a lane. He didn't like that very much. Laid on his horn for over a minute until he saw a police officer. He then proceeded to tail me for over 3 miles. Every time I got over he got over. Finally he got beside me and started throwing hand signs. I got home and called the company and spoke to the call service explaining the whole ordeal. Not one person from this company called and it's been 7 days. So beware of hiring a company who allows their drivers to bully, harass and try to cause accidents. read more

Before they get your money, they're very attentive... will return texts and phone calls, but once they get paid, they are the worst. They do not stand behind their products. I replaced my entire central a/c and within 2 years I had one problem after the other. No more texts returned and the technicians would say, "oh, that's not covered," or "we don't do that work." They would charge a fortune and I decided to switch to Pride who addressed the issue, found it and did everything to make sure I was satisfied with their work. But Cousin's is the worst and never again will I use them nor would I recommend them. Buyer beware. read more

We've been Cousin's Air customers since mid-2019. At first, we engaged them for a semi-annual maintenance visit of our 15-year-old A/C system, which it seemed had not had any maintenance for years before we bought our home. Kyle Banker, our tech, did a fantastic job then and every 6 mos. since then. When it was time to replace our A/C system last year, we got 3 bids. Cousin's Air's bid was competitive, so we were glad to buy it from them and had their installers, Dwayne and Brant, do the work. The installation went smoothly, the new system works great and has reduced our electric bill noticeably. Kyle was back yesterday for a scheduled maintenance visit. Once again, it was easy to schedule it with their office professionals, who make it easy to work with them, like Kyle, Dwayne, and Brant. Kyle knows his stuff, does the routine maintenance steps inside and out, changes our air filter, and answers all our questions with a smile. It's a pleasure to be a Cousin's Air customer. My husband and I are glad to have an A/C vendor that we can count on with reasonable pricing. We continue to recommend them to our friends and neighbors. read more

We had an issue with our A/C and had heard good things about Cousins Air so we called. They were very pleasant on the phone and scheduled a technician to come out to service our unit. The technician came out and told us that the price to perform the service was $154, but if we took a service contract for $199, that would count as the first of the two services per year under the contract. Cousins Air had to come out 2 times today, waiting on the 3rd now to resolve the same issue - clogged drain line. This started at 8:15 this morning when I was assured it was fixed and resolved and that the ac was working fine. A/C went off 2 hours later. Called for service at 4 pm, same technician arrived at 6:30 pm, fixed and assured me again it was resolved and left. 15 minutes later A/C went off again. It is now 7:45 and I am still waiting on a call back as to when the 3rd visit today will be. This is not the first time this happened, similarly last year except the a/c worked for several days. Drainline issue again last September, emergency service never showed up and I had to wait until mid day the next day in 95 degree heat for a technician to show up. read more

I've found they are competent at what they do and fix things well & as expected. But lately their prices have gone into the stratosphere, no joke. For my most recent service call, I charged was $330 an hour for labor!! For adding refrigerant, they charged more than $100 a pound, I'm used to paying 1/3 of that. We purchased an air conditioner from Cousins in August 2019. It worked well for a couple of years. We also had Cousins doing regular maintenance every 6 months from the time we bought it. The did not put the valve in that let's you pour bleach down the drain each month. July 2012 we had a flood do to the air conditioner pipe overflowing. Cousins came out to flush the line. It began happening every 4 months then every 3 months then every two months. We kept asking Cousins to put the valve on. They kept saying the couldn't and of course charged $179.00 for cleaning the line. Well they were here 2 weeks ago. Two days ago I had ECM come in, install the valve and completely clean the line because after two weeks it was backed up again! read more

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!! We called Cousins for a routine maintenance visit of our 2 year old A/C. The first tech provided what we thought was routine maintenance. The next day the unit stopped working. We called back and they sent a second tech who said we needed a new thermostat. They replaced the thermostat which did no good. A third tech was sent out and discovered the unit had no freon due to a hole in the evaporator coil. They charged us $1153 in addition to the almost $300 for a maintenance agreement. We had not had any trouble with the unit until we made the mistake of calling this company. The first technician obviously caused the damage to the coil during his visit. DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY AS IT WILL COST YOU A FORTUNE AND THEY WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR UNTRAINED TECHNICIANS. read more

I called for a 2 ton a/c check out because outside unit freezing back to compreser. Was informed it would be $89.00 for service call. when I got the bill they said it was $179.00 as he needed to spend time checking out problem. Charged for 1 hr. Tec said expansion valve was not working. For a new 2 ton system with ductwork they wanted wanted $5200. Not happy as still have problem and short $179.00 read more

I live in a 6 unit building and am the president of the BOD. Tech came out Tuesday for one of my residents and gave him a BS story about which drain line was his and why his ac was leaking. Told resident his drain line was one of two lines from an inverter condenser unit on the opposite end of the building. Which didn't make sense at all and is also HVAC 101. Proceeded to blow out random drain lines, breaking another residence hvac, and even unplug the buildings clean out drain pouring raw sewage behind the entire back of the building. Tech comes out the next day who is rude and condescending and proceeds to tell the original resident his coils are gunked up and need to be cleaned. When I went inside and showed him how pristine clean the coils were he then changed his tune and continued to be rude and condescending. These guys don't know what they are doing and charge you for services you don't need. How do you not know a one inch drain line from 4-in cleanout drain? read more

I decided to give them a call. I requested the same HVAC tech that provided the initial estimate. Some other guys that came out from cousin air, that were not knowledgeable in the commercial HVAC field. How do I know this? See the pictures below! Everything that I agreed upon that was written in detailed in contact/estimate wasn't filled! Not even When I called them repeatedly to get some kind of response they ignored me until my assistant wrote them an email. Basically there response was hey we did all the work as agreed-upon. Wait, I didn't even sign off on the work! They make you pay upfront and provide them permission to do the work! I would never sign off on this type Idiocracy. They did none of the work described but what they did was damage my commercial HVAC unit! The intake grill that they installed is already falling down with no support as indicated in our estimate. Did I mention it's also the wrong size for my commercial space! I would think the professionals at cousin air HVAC team are well trained but apparently they're not! 4 days later, I found an air-filter that cousin air tech cutup to fit the new grill half way stuck by my HVAC fan units deep in the duct board. Thus causing injury to my AC fan unit! The second team that day was supposedly cleaned out the ac units came to get paid, but they never check in with me! We didn't go over anything or confirmed anything. I was available but they were too busy speaking to the other team. I was charged $400+ for cleaning which they didn't do! Called Saturday afternoon, no power to themostat, unit not running. Tech called me back in about a 1/2 hour as promised by call center. Chris arrived about a 1/2 hour after that, did some trouble shooting and found a blown fuse. Replaced the fuse. Tech was very professional. Being a very hot Saturday afternoon i wasn't even sure I could get service that day. Very Happy. Of course there was a weekend up charge but for $250 I was just happy to have it fixed. Would have spent that much on a hotel room for the night and still would have had to deal with it on Monday. read more

My AC unit has been giving us some trouble since we purchased it 1.5 years ago but a professional tech came out today and temporarily fixed the unit and is having another team come out to verify a possible issue with the system that might be causing the repeated shut down. We have been a customer of Cousins Air for over 10 years and have had a maintenance agreement for that length of time. Yesterday (8/14/18), my husband who had hip surgery last week said he felt hot. We thought it was the medication. But we checked to make sure it wasn't the air conditioner. When we checked, one thermostat was fine, the other was blank. We called Cousins and they sent a technician out. The first thing he did was to check to see if the thermostat needed batteries--it did. So, we paid $135 for the tech to install some batteries. I think it is very poor customer service that they did not do any troubleshooting with us before sending out a tech. How complicated would it have been to simply ask if we had checked the batteries. They would not have received the $135 but is that worth the loss of a loyal customer? read more

Avoid this company! They say with any major repair your service call fee will be removed, not only have they not refunded me my money they didnt reconnect my drain line and now my floor and walls are lifting and have mold. They are by no means "mini-split experts" read more

My current HVAC support company that advertises daily on local TV told me 3 days to come out... Last issue 6 months ago 2 days... Cousins came out without a service contract in 3 hours. They showed my what they did and swapped out parts and determined with me the compressor was shot 3 weeks after the 10 yr warranty. They had a new system installed in 30 hours and we love them, and the new system. Lowest price of any of our neighbors had paid for same or similar sear rated systems. We switched all or service on all of our units to Cousins. Phone, Tech staff, and install team were the most professional and really treated us like they where doing work for friends. When I asked for a bigger system with higher cost they talked me out of it and explained why. We'll be working with Cousins from this point on. Great job guys. -Fred read more

My AC unit stopped working in the middle of the night. I called Cousin's Air first thing in the morning and spoke to a delightful woman named Olivia. She was very personable and empathetic to my situation. Olivia informed me that a technician would be out to my house between 1pm-3pm, but they would call me if it was earlier. The technician came an hour earlier than the window time. Chris was very efficient, informative about the AC problem and kind. Due to CoVid, he wore the appropriate coverings for his face, hands and shoes. The one thing that I truly appreciate is that Cousin's Air emailed me the name of the technician and security check prior to his arrival. I will recommend this company to everyone! They were professional and personable from the the initial phone call to the end of my AC being fixed. read more
