I recently purchased a beautiful used Audi Q5 from Mike and his team at central autos . I could not have asked for a better experience . Mike allowed me to test drive it for more than the usual amount of time so I could try it in inclement weather . Mike was down to earth , honest and helpful . This is always important, however even better as I walked in as a "single" woman on a used car lot which can be intimidating to some . Bought a 2013 Mitsubishi Ralliart in July with TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, they put in the contract they would fix it. When taken up there to get it fixed, ALL THEY DID WAS DRIVE IT TO THEIR HOUSE, and say the problem was fixed. DO NOT recommend buying from them because all they will do is fuck you over. read more

DON'T DO IT! We were interested in buying a 2002 Black Expedition... seemed like a good deal, despite having to drive a considerable distance. Arrived, drove ok, but heat wasn't operating correctly, and sunroof did not work. Mike replied "Well are you going to USE the sunroof?" I thought he was joking... but thought... we just might. At any rate, he said he couldn't sell it like that anyway and said he'd fix the sunroof and the heat. We drove back up to Castle Rock.. with the option to buy the car with the heat fixed... and then bring it back when the sunroof parts came in. Well the heat wasn't fixed. Evidently the on-site repair guy doesn't like to make sure it's fixed.. after he "fixes it." We remained patient, and said we'd buy the vehicle when the two problems are fixed. Mike requested a $500 deposit in order to hold it, because he had other interested parties that were willing to buy the car as is. We gave him the deposit. Weeks later, we were told it was fixed. We drove back up... heat was working, but we tried the sunroof and it would not open all the way or close without manual assistance. He looked at it and said, "well, that's the best we can do, and if you don't want it, we can just refund your deposit." We went ahead and drove it anyway, willing to contend with the sunroof problem worst case. .... but something told me to take it through a car wash. We got SOAKED. We returned to the dealership, alerted mike of the issue and he replied "ok we'll just return the deposit." Another words... is rather cut my losses with you, and sell this "AS IS" to an unsuspecting customer, that is not aware of the sunroof history. That way, he can still get what he's asking and stick it to someone ELSE, without having to fix anything else. The only reason I am writing this review, is to let the sucker he took advantage of after us know.... HE KNEW ABOUT THE LEAKY ROOF BEFORE YOU BOUGHT IT. Trash service. Pompous attitude. Please avoid this place, Mike is a TRUE Scum Sales man. We purchased a car for our daugther and we first had to jump start the car before we could test drive the vehicle and also there was no gas in the car so i had to buy my own gas first just to drive the vehicle. Mike told us several times that he will guarantee the battery for three months which the battery only lasted for a few days, i had to jump start the car every morning so my daugther could drive to school. Several times had to leave work early to jump start her car after school which my daugther was very upset and embarrased. I told Mike via text and voice mail that i need to buy a new battery, but Mike ignored all the text and voicemails. Like a true SCUM Mike never even returned any of my calls (mike is a total scum bag). Now Mike is refusing to honor his 3 month guarantee and refuses to pay for the battery i purchased from Walmart. I have never written a review in my life, but felt the need to do so in this case. This place is the epitome of a typical "car sales place" willing to do anything to make a buck. We had uneasy feelings during the sales process but we needed a car (was pregnant with #3 at the time) and had driven an hour and a half with our two toddlers to get there. We originally went to look at a Kia Sedona. The car reeked, the engine was making weird sounds and there were stains and crumbs everywhere. No one had bothered to vacuum it. We couldn't wait to be done with our test drive. Then we happened upon a Honda Odyssey. It was much cleaner, a bit cheaper and overall worked better for my family. So we bought it. The Carfax they pulled on it had a great score and we figured we couldn't go wrong with a Honda. I told the salesman, Jared, over and over again, that I was worried because there was no record of the timing belt being replaced and didn't want to spend the money on that. He ASSURED me that it had been done because no car with 133k miles would still be running. (A month later, took it in for an oil change and the mechanic said it was necessary to replace the belt: $1200). During the sales process they convinced us to add on a warranty service. It added almost $2,000 onto the price of the car. We had the chance to use it this month as our transmission is failing (which we didn't know was extremely typical for this year and model of car). So we contacted the warranty service and they said it would take a couple of weeks to do the entire process and they wanted our mechanic to strip the entire transmission down to the part that is failing...then maybe, just maybe, they'll replace the part (which wouldn't do us any good in the long run) or possibly put a used transmission in. We've already replaced the transmission with a used one out of our pocket and have had two mechanics tell us need a new one. We haven't been able to drive it far from our house because we never know if the transmission will fail and we'll be stranded somewhere. Even if the warranty people decided to replace the transmission, it would only be up to $2,000...on a $5,000 part. We've owned the car a year and a half. $3500 for a used transmission. $5,000 for a new one. $1,200 for the belt. We've spent almost $10,000 in car repairs on a $5,000 car. We finally said screw it, let's get rid of this rediculous warranty that they sold us. Hopefully we'll get some of our money back since we've never used it. I'm not done....to get a copy of our car's key is $50 because there's a chip in it. A few months ago we talked to Jared about an unrelated matter and he said he found an extra key that was ours and would put it in the mail. Never showed up. Asked him about it again TODAY and said it must have gotten lost in the mail, so oh well. No way to track it...he didn't give a shit. I told him it would have been nice to get all they keys a year and a half ago when we bought it!! One last little gem: He was supposed to send us the papers to cancel our warranty service through email. He spelled our last name in our email wrong and it never got sent. We corrected the spelling with him and he sent us 12 emails without one PDF! So he sent us 12 empty emails with no papers to sign. In addition to that, we've needed to contact them several times over the last year and a half and NEVER ONCE GOT A CALL BACK after leaving a message. Overall, EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. So sorry that we went there. I recognize all of the mechanics of our car are not their fault, but in general we've had a horrible experience with this place. This review is half being able to vent for me and the other half is to urge you not to bring your valuable business here. We were attracted to them because their prices on their cars were so low and we're a young family with young children and just don't have a lot of money to spare. DON'T BUY A CAR FROM CENTRAL AUTOS. We purchased a 2001 subaru from them about 2 months ago. Good condition, low miles for the age, they gave their seal of approval over the quality of the engine. 3 weeks later we get a check engine light. Bring the car into the mechanic, and then entire radiator is falling apart. Holes on most of it. Timing belt needs to be changed and other issues with the transmission. In the end, looking at 2,000 to 3,000 worth of repairs. I called Central Autos, and at first Mike was incredibly apologetic about it. He offered to order parts at a discount rate for us, which I thought was very fair. More than a month has gone by.......NOTHING from them. Not a single phone call back, excuse after excuse in emails. Absolutely ridiculous. Yes, buying a used car is risky and I am taking the risk doing it. But if Central Autos, which has a garage ON SITE, gives their guarantee that the car is in good working order and then you find out that it is not, THEY ARE LIARS. DO NOT SHOP WITH THEM. NOT WORTH YOUR TIME AND ESPECIALLY NOT WORTH YOUR MONEY. read more

STAY FAR AWAY FROM CENTRAL AUTOS! Bought a used Ford Explorer from Central Autos that was supposedly in "Excellent Condition" and I have only had problems leading to thousands of dollars of repairs. These guys seemed to lie and say just about anything just to get the car off the lot and completely screwed me over with a car with a faulty transmission. They included an "amazing three year warranty" which just "happened" to not cover a single issue that this car had. Pretty tricky on their part, I'd say. Upon telling them about the immediate problems and dissatisfaction with the car, they did close to nothing to help and correct their mistake. I already knew the car I wanted, I already had financing from my credit union, so that helped move the process along some, but the service we received, and the amount of time it took was amazing! Found the car online, called, and was told to come on down to look at it, Got right into the car for a test drive, and after getting back it only took about 20 min total to sign all the paperwork. DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR HERE!!!! This place does illegal things to their buyers and doesn't even care. I went and bought a car through them and they told me a complete total price so I could get my loan through my bank. I made sure to specifically ask for the complete total taxes and all so that all I had to do was pay for my registration when the time came. They told me a number down to the penny and I called and got my loan in mikes office.... now I go to the DMV and they told me that there were no taxes paid on this car and I have to pay them all!!!! Totaling over $800!!!! I went in to try and have them correct their mistake and they told me I'm SOL! It's illegal for a dealership to sell you a car that without paying taxes on it. I've reported them to the DMV Dealer board and called Tom Martino. Also while I was there a couple got dropped off in a taxi thinking they were going to be buying a SUV there, but they didn't because this business doesn't care one bit about the info they tell others about their cars and didn't disclose a few things about it but then wouldn't refund them their money for holding the car!!! Do not buy a car here. Mike will give you the standard "It's as is, but we will stand by your purchase if something is wrong", "we'll make it right buy fixing it, or getting you a refund". We've been in business for over 10 years, I've been here a majority of that time. You don't stay in business that long doing people wrong". Within 4 HOURS of my purchase a loud grinding noise started coming from the front end. I took it in and they fixed it. A few days later several engine lights came on and I returned. They said it was either a loose wire, or it was taken out of 4WD out of sequence??? Either way it was fixed. A week later the lights came back on. I asked for a refund and Mike literally said "that's the nature of used cars"... When I mentioned stopping payment through Navy Federal CU. He threatened to take me to small claims court for 3 times the amount (which is BS because small claims court is for small claims). They "fixed it" again and a week later the lights came back on. Went to Toyota and they said the radiator was ruptured and the engine was running hot. They likely added fluid, reset the diagnostic code and called it good until I got off the lot. Over $1000 later in stupid tax, I've learned not to be so trusting (I know...used car salesman). Spend the extra money upfront at a place that offers a 30 day return policy. read more

Not recommended. I bought a car from Mike, the quintessential used car salesman ("YOU'RE OFFERING ME WHAT? I have children to feed! I can sell this car to someone else tomorrow." etc.) Car had no fuel in the tank. Not a big deal. Car only came with one key. It's one of those keys that costs $200 to duplicate. Mike gave me the number of a locksmith who'd give me a deal. I called the locksmith. He said he can't duplicate that sort of key. When I called Mike to let him know I was disappointed that the "deal" he promised wasn't a deal he became indignant. Not a big deal. They promised to replace the windshield for free. GREAT. The nincompoops they hired to do it showed up six hours early (!) and yelled at me for not being home to receive them. Annoying, but not a big deal. An email to the dealership to let them know they might not want to hire that same company again received no reply. Not a big deal. Thirty days after buying the car, it broke down, stranding me and my wife in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night. Emails to the dealership to let them know the situation received no reply. BIG deal. Ultimately, the $5000 worth of repairs were covered under warranty by VW, but I'm astonished that no one at Central Autos could take the time to contact me after a car I bought from them died after 1,500 miles. The car was sold AS IS, which means they are not LEGALLY obligated to do anything for me once they receive payment, and I honestly didn't expect them to do anything monetarily for me. But one would hope they'd fulfill their HUMAN obligation of at least pretending to care about their customers. File under: dogs. read more

I cannot say enough about how I was treated by Shawn Chin. My son purchased a truck from Shawn at a very fair price. There were some overlooked maintenance items that I did not realize until I checked the truck out at home. Disappointed, I called Shawn and he immediately resolved all the issues. He was under no obligation to do so since the truck was sold to my son "as is". This shows the honesty and sincerity that Shawn exhibits and I would definitely buy another vehicle from Shawn and Central Autos. My only suggestion is you ask for their "vehicle inspection checklist" and check down the list before you leave his dealership. It will just save you time. read more

I'd be very leary in dealing with these guys. The sales person we deal with was ok and I think genuinely cared but the owner, John, is your typical used car dealer. I think they simply got the car at auction and plopped it on the lot. All the ads said it was in excellent condition for the age and miles but it was no where close. I know it's a used vehicle but don't advertise stuff that's not true. We can tell it might have had alignment issues and we told them we smelled oil burning. I wanted to have my mechanic check it out before purchasing it and they disallowed it. That should have been a red flag. Managed to get a 3 month warranty but that didn't cover any of the issues. The day after purchasing it, the alternator went; they did tow us back and fix that but they used SUPER GLUE to put the alternator back on cause they lost the screw in the casing which caused other issues. The windshield wipers were stripped and the horn didn't work; they simply disconnected it cause there was a relay issue which they failed to tell us. Then the head gasket blew! DO NOT buy from here. While there, another client wanted to see a car they advertised and they couldn't even find it. Stay away .. far far away from this place and tell all your friends! read more

I originally went in to purchase a Escalade, after test driving I told them the tire pressure sensor and air ride sensor were on, they agreed to fix them which took 3 weeks, the whole time telling me what a favor they were doing and that they could resell the car for more money to someone else. After 3 weeks I went and picked up the vehicle, the next morning there was a oil/transmission spot in my driveway, I took it to a mechanic and they said it had 3 leaks one of them the rear main seal. I called Mike at the dealership and told him. They agreed to have their mechanic look at it, he did and said "seepage" is different than leaks and they are not going to fix it (any oil/transmission fluid coming from a vehicle is a problem) but their "certified mechanic" said even new cars are "allowed" to leak fluid. I left the vehicle there and now am being threatened if I don't come get it they will sue me for 3 times the amount of the down payment which would be 17,400 and the vehicle was only 10,995.00 or I could pay a "restocking fee "of 1800.00 for them to spend 5 minutes and put it on the internet. read more

I wish there was a 0 star option. Terrible. Found the car we wanted and decided to go for it. Needed financing so did all the paperwork. Went in on a Thursday and NO phone calls to keep me updated. I had to continually call them. Finally asked if they were even interested in selling a vehicle to me. The finance guy says yes but you can go somewhere else. Waited all weekend and then finally Monday the salesperson calls and says "CONGRATS." So I went along with a deal. And of course with any dealership everyone haggles. So Tuesday I text him and say let's do this. He says congrats again and all we need to is sign the paperwork. Not even 10 minutes later he text me to tell me that they sold the vehicle to someone else. "Sorry." he says "I told you to put a deposit. " Yes he did and when I called to put the deposit he tells me he is busy and will call me later. Seriously!!! I thought a small dealership would be nice and relaxing compared those big time places but I guess I will just spend a little extra for better service. Oh and the best part... While we were there, the owners were outside physically fighting one another. Wow. Never again. Will never ever ever recommend to anyone read more
