Extremely disappointing experience at Castle Rock Ford. Potential buyers beware of false advertising and bait-and-switch tactics. On June 17, 2024, my wife and I visited to purchase a 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning advertised for $46,245 on their website and showroom window (see attachments). This price explicitly included the $7,500 EV federal tax credit. We negotiated an even better deal for $44,499 with salesperson Aiden and finance person Wes, who both signed off on it. When we returned on June 22 to finalize the purchase, an unidentified finance person refused to honor either the negotiated or advertised price. He claimed the tax credit couldn't be applied to the vehicle price, only towards the payment. This dramatically increased the price: - Advertised price jumped from $46,245 to $53,745 - Our negotiated price rose from $44,499 to $51,999 These increases represent a shocking 16.2% and 16.9% jump respectively. This practice appears to violate: 1. Colorado's Consumer Protection Act regarding false advertising 2. The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022, which allows dealers to use the tax credit to reduce the vehicle's price We have documentation of the agreed price, website screenshots, and photos of the showroom price. I'm reporting this to the Colorado Attorney General's Office and BBB. Castle Rock Ford's refusal to honor their advertised and negotiated prices is a deceptive business practice. Their advertisement never mentioned the tax credit couldn't be applied to the price. This is a clear case of bait-and-switch. I strongly advise extreme caution when dealing with Castle Rock Ford. The over all experience at Castlerock Ford was good. The sales lady, Fatima did a great job of assisting us. She was knowledgeable and very service orientated. We went inside to go over numbers and everything looked great. The finance manager came into the picture. Jay introduced himself and wanted to take over from that point. Well he went on and explained the warranty coverage to me. Stating that because I bought an F450 Platinum as a used car in get special treatment on warranty. He said "I would get every warranty for that truck at 1799 dollars. Well that wasn't true. Found out after I signed the papers. The next day we had to go back to have a few items taken care of. Stay away if you need service done!!! The service department doesn't know what they are doing. We brought our F150 Lightning to them to get a few recalls done. They told us they needed to order a part and would call us... this was January 2024. We call them in November to get another recall done (just a software update) and the part is still not ordered. We get a text saying you have appointment to get the part installed and the day of the service manager Jeff decides not I be a "great" customer service representative and canceled our appointment an hour before our appointment time. We call him and he is short and tells us to go to another Ford Dealership to get the part ordered and installed. All we want is our $70,000 truck to get the parts Ford Motor Company has put out as a recall to be replaced/changed. read more

I bought my 2022 F150 at Castle Rock Ford couple years ago and today I took it in for another oil change and tire rotation. I had them change the filter engine compartment, and then the cabin filter of course obviously if it's needed as you can see, the engine filter is needed, but the cabin filter was super clean. I was told by the person in the quick lube that it takes time to take the glove box off, so they just change it out anyway when they do the engine filter, the issue is or at least my issue is it was $94 and the glove box literally takes about 40 seconds to take off because I did it myself which means to change the filter in the glove box is about a 2 1/2 to 3 minute job I'm not really happy that I was charged $94 and I didn't even need a filter. They should havel taken the glove box off seen that the filter was still clean and then just said it does not need to be changed instead of saying that it needs attention and that it must be changed to me. That is a big scam so I'm not really happy about that and I thought about this all day. I got work done this morning. I like to be able to trust the deal that they're gonna try to railroad and they're gonna do a good job and be honest about what they're doing. Terrible customer service. Between the sales floor and the service department both show very little concern for the customer. I tried to buy two vehicles from the place with a year apart of each other. Sales person wanted to give me a raw deal on a trade in, then overcharge on "prepaid" services, and other hidden fees. After all of that I took my business to Freeway Ford. Fast forward to today, the prepaid service I had already paid for, is now considered a coupon now, and not pre-paid. Then I'm told they are expired. Which mind you last time I was here for an oil change I was told I had one more service left. Stay away, Castle Rock Ford does not honor the deals they make with the customer at all. In the end, they'll have you paying more and more. I took my 2019 Ford F150 into the Castle Rock Ford service department as my horn has been going off randomly. I received a text stating they connected my truck to the IDS system which should only take a minute and a half and the same four codes came up stating I need a new passenger front door latch. I declined their offer to fix it. When I went to pick up my truck I was told the total was $268. $220 for diagnostics and $44 for shop fees. I told them I wasn't paying for that and they kept it at $220. I could have gotten an IDS reading for free at any auto store. They would not waive that fee whatsoever. A complaint was made with the main Ford Corporation. I would stay far far away from this service department as they are highly ripping people off. read more

Here is an experience I had this week at Castle Rock Ford service. I needed to fix the running board engine and replace spark plugs. On the 2nd day of service the service advisor estimated parts+labor for $1,800. On the 4th day of service they sent an estimate for $3,037. After my question why the new estimate differs so much from the first one - they finished service and sent me an invoice for $2,280. I searched parts on Google and parts.ford.com and found that 6 spark plugs should cost $80 (not invoiced $131) and a running board engine should cost $640 (not invoiced $860). So in parts the overcharging was $270. When I picked up car today from Castle Rock Ford - they didn't want to change their bill initially but after some discussion and providing lower prices from parts.ford.com they finally agreed to decrease invoice to $1,980, which is almost same as initial estimate (+tax) and $300 lower than they wanted me to pay today. The most interesting part here for me is that I've owned cars since 2004 and it's the first time I had the idea to check parts codes prior to paying for the service, and it paid out pretty well. For sure I'll not use Castle Rock Ford service anymore and in future will always double check estimates. read more

Castle Rock Ford is absolutely the worst dealership in the metro area! I had to give it a one star to post my comment, but this review is a no star review. I've had far too many bad experiences from the sales department and especially the service department over the last two years. I ordered a new Bronco in Jan. of 2022 and had to re-order in Jan. of 2023 because they couldn't deliver a 2022 (this was a Ford problem and not a dealership problem). Vehicle when re-ordered was $6k more than previously agreed upon price that I signed for at the sales office. I was told by the dealership that the difference would be taken care of at the time of purchase in the form of a rebate or credit. This was one of many lies I was told during the coarse of waiting for the vehicle. Bronco finally showed up in Sept. of 2023 1 year 8- months after the original order. I was given updates by Ford Motor CO when it finally was built and shipped. It arrived at the Castle Rock Ford dealership and I was never called to come down and pick it up. I showed up 4- days later after no one reached out. The vehicle was out on the lot prepped for sale. When I looked at the window sticker, vehicle was now priced well above the $74k on a separate sticker from the window price. I inquired about what had happened at sales office and the sales manager apologized. I tried to purchase the Bronco but was told I needed to now pay the $74k price. I asked about rebate that I was suppose to get for the difference between pricing and was offered a little over $3k by Ford & the dealership for the $12k difference from the original order I had placed. Needless to say, I walked on the deal and vowed to never buy another vehicle from the Castle Rock Ford dealership. The reason why I mentioned everything above is because I made another bad mistake booking a service appointment with Amber in the Castle Rock Ford Service Dept. for Monday 1/13/2025. I dropped the vehicle off Sunday night and left the key in the key drop. I followed back up on Monday the 1/13/25 to go over the service I needed on the vehicle. She mentioned it might be a couple of days before I received a diagnostic for the issues. Castle Rock Ford now charges $220 for each diagnostic (which is highway robbery). I had two separate issues but saw a ticket for $660 dollars to diagnose my vehicle (which never happened the entire week). I understand needing to pay a service tech's time to look at the vehicle, but this is totally ridiculous! By Friday 1/17/25 when nothing had been looked on the vehicle after booking an appointment on the previous Monday, I cancelled the service ticket and received my vehicle. Please stay away from Castle Rock Ford. They don't know how to treat their customers. These are only two stories but I have more that haven't been told. I guess I had to learn the hard way! UPDATE: castle rock ford quoted me almost $3,000 to fix my car. I took it elsewhere and two hours and $220.00 later had my car completely fixed. Do not trust them!! I have never experienced a business this horrible and had this much regret from asking a shop to look at my vehicle. They charge $250 for diagnostics (and they DO NOT tell you that, we asked for quotes over and over again and that wasnt mentioned once) we also brought a diagnostic sheet with us that was ran the day before. Every review here is true, they are incredibly rude and take advantage of you. THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS. We were quoted $300 at the start for THE WORK. Not for them to hook the car up to a machine and run diagnostics, so no work is done and we're paying what we expected to pay at the beginning. This business should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Quite frankly they are mean, non responsive, and take advantage of you any way they can and i wish i took the reviews seriously before bringing my car in, but i try not to rely on reviews because sometimes they're misleading. DO NOT GO HERE! They lie and will use your digital signature on documents without your knowledge or agreement! I originally wrote a positive review but since then I learned that this is one of the most shady companies I have ever delt with. The finance manager, Robert Mandziara, lied through his teeth regarding the aftermarket warranty and services, and used my digital signature on multiple documents that I never saw and did not authorize. Mr. Mandziara told me that all the aftermarket items were only going to increase my payment by about $12/month and only cost about $5k. As it turns out, they increased my payment by more than $200/month and cost over $12,000! He never showed me a breakdown of the charges or any of the documents on the aftermarket warranty and services, and used my digital signature on all of the documents for the aftermarket warranty and services without ever showing them to me, and without my knowledge, consent, or authorization. Mr. Mandziara had me sign a electronic signature release form so that if he could get me a better interest rate, he could email me the documents and I could sign them without having to drive down to the dealership. But in actuality, he did this to use my digital signature on multiple documents without my knowledge, authorization, or consent, totaling over $12,000 in items that he lied to me about, without ever showing me these documents when I purchased my vehicle. It wasn't until until two weeks later, after I had called him and the finance department 9 times and left multiple voice messages with no response, that I contacted the salesperson who sold me the vehicle to see if he could get Mr. Mandziara or someone to send me some documents that I figured out I was missing. For example, Mr. Mandziara told me that my wheels and tires would be covered for 7 years for repair/replacement, and that it was a part of the total $5,000 for all the services, but this service alone is $2,005 and is only good for 1 year! Just this item alone increased my payment by more than $30/month! I reached out to the General Manager, Patrick Nieto, but I have yet to hear from him. read more

Made an appointment online for 10 o'clock oil rotation this morning. Got there before 10 o'clock and the young man at the counter couldn't find my appointment. He asked me if I made it online and I said yes. Then he said that many times they don't see the appointments that are made online and said they were very busy. Honestly, what the heck kind of operation is that? I left and got it changed at a quick oil change place. I have given Castle several chances since the ownership changed but nothing seems to be any different. Yes they can do a simple oil change a tire rotation if they get your appointment correct. The process of buying my Pathfinder was easy enough, however it wasn't until later did I learn that the vehicle they sold me did not pass emissions prior to the sale. My check engine light came on days after the purchase. I had it diagnosed and was told it was the mass airflow sensor. I purchased a new one ($150) only to have the check engine light issue persist. I finally took it to my local Nissan dealership (I live in Fort Collins, so driving down to castle rock again was not convenient or going to happen when they had not fixed the issue). Turned out the intake boot had major cracks in it that should have been caught BEFORE selling me the vehicle. So $550 later the issue was fixed. I'd also now had to pay for TWO emissions tests because Castle Rock Ford could not provide me with proof a test had already been done. I have called repeatedly the last few weeks and was told that a check for the nearly $750 I've paid would be in the mail but has not been received as of yet. Every time I call, I'm told that the check is in the mail and would be here Friday (TWO FRIDAYS AGO), or that Jesse isn't available. I would 100% not recommend buying a car here. Do not trust them to check all the mechanics of your vehicle or to provide any necessary documentation when asked. If I had known about this issue I would have asked for a lower price, or I'd have searched somewhere else. I have no confidence in this dealership at all. 3/9/21: Spoke to Gil the Assistant Mgr and was told that my check was found sitting on the finance persons desk at their other office for the last 2 months. Said it would be mailed out on Wednesday 3/10/21. I asked Gil if it can be mailed certified so there was a tracking. He said no that he can't do that. But to expect the check no later than Saturday 3/13/21. NO check arrived... 3/15/21: called Gil left a message call me back. no return call from Gil. 3/16/21: called and spoke to Roger (GM). He said that he checked with his finance person and the check had been mailed out on 3/11/21 by her. He asked if I can give it a couple of days and I said Friday 3/19/21. Well it is 3/19/21 and still no check. I called Roger both at his office phone and his cell phone. No Answer and so far no return call. So Here is what I am left to do. I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General of Colorado, BBB and every social media platform I can find. yI am going to keep doing it until they do the right thing and refund my money. I thought long and hard about whether to give one star or two but ultimately decided it wasn't fair to slight my salesman, Brian Cook, by looping him in with everything that went wrong with this transaction. I do genuinely believe he's a great salesman, just buried under an incredibly disorganized and apparently inept company. With that said, I can now say (since my transaction is finally complete after over a month of dealing with it) that this is unequivocally the worst car buying experience I have ever had. With more than 20 vehicles in my company's fleet, plenty more personally and for family, I have been involved in dozens of transactions with car dealers and I'm astonished by how bad this one went. It started with the assurance that I could trade in my leased vehicle and it would be no problem. I heard a conflicting story from another dealer so I went back and forth with these guys to verify 100% that it would not be an issue prior to driving over 1,000 miles to trade that vehicle in towards the truck I was planning on buying and leaving with. They again assured me it was no problem so I made the trek from out of state to get it done. Fast forward to a couple days later, I arrive at the dealership to see the beautiful truck I was expecting waiting in the sold bay. Much to my surprise, the paint was absolutely riddled with hard water damage. It was hard to see at first because the truck obviously hadn't seen a wash since it left the plant. As a former detailer who specialized in paint correction, I just saw the dollar signs adding up on the black metallic paint. Brian apologized profusely and negotiated a modest price reduction to compensate for the damage. The real surprise was the identical truck out on the lot with perfect paintwork that must have come with the same shipment just judging by the limited production of this particular truck. They claimed it was sold, but it definitely wasn't identified as such so I still wonder whether that was the case and if they intentionally sold me the damaged one knowing I was some young kid coming in from another state to buy a fancy truck. I admittedly settled on a lower figure than I should have, but figured I had already come too far to turn around over something I knew I could fix with enough time and effort. Jump ahead 4 more hours, I'm still waiting for them to figure out what to do with my trade-in. Apparently no one there knew what to do after all, and they ended up calling my local dealer back in Arizona to get some guidance. I ended up having to go to that local dealer when I got back to buy the car I already traded in to Castle Rock Ford just so they could have a clear cut trade in and payoff. An absolute nightmare in paperwork and rigmarole for something I was assured wouldn't be a problem. Finally, over a month later, I've just left the DMV and took the time to write this review. This is the first time out of all the many vehicles I've bought from a dealer where the DMV called me on my cell phone and asked me to come in for "additional paperwork". Come to find out, it wasn't only paperwork (that Castle Rock Ford didn't submit properly), I had to pay an additional $1,300 for registration that they somehow didn't account for. This, too, was a first. Although I was nickel-and-dimed on the staggering $100,000+ all-in price tag on this truck, Castle Rock Ford cost me a more precious commodity that I can't make back: time. I run a small service business and it was hard enough leaving a few hours early to get a headstart on the drive there. When you factor that time to drive to and from Colorado, the excessive wait for them to get their act together, the ridiculous process of buying out my trade-in twice, all the back and forth of signing documents three different times, and now this nonsense of re-applying for Arizona registration after all that, the price tag of this truck is no longer measurable in dollars. Immediately turned around and went back advisor apologized she didn't understand correctly and then calls me an hour later to tell me It would be another $2500!! Spoke to service manager who was completely useless he even admitted how a diagnostic should be done and that it clearly wasn't done correctly but didn't want to do anything about it offered to discount the service to $2150 uhh no thanks! Stay away from here as other reviews show they mess with you and pricing to a point you feel stuck!
