However, i do become concerned when I run into this demographic of fervent right wingers who liberally use poor fact and foul language. What can i say... it is a tough pill to swallow when you're just getting some pants hemmed, but also being confronted as a potential liberal. The story goes they were victims of liberal politics and Donald trump is somehow saving everything and taking care of americas problems with "tariffs" and my favorite, "smacking Zelenskyy in the back of the head, when he visited the Oval Office". As mentioned I am apolitical, however I support Ukraine. Is that okay? It's unfortunate. We've been going here awhile, but after today... being inundated by their political views that frankly just left me feeling dirty for supporting their business, we may need to find another tailor. I'd keep politics and foul language aside if you want to keep relations with your customers. Or at least take a hint when it's not hitting with fellow trump supporters. No harm intended here, but I don't know what else to do to reconcile my awful experience today. I hope they will pivot from spewing angry rhetoric at their customers and I honestly hope that the trillions of tariff dollars actually come. But alas I'm not much of a believer. What an absolutely wonderful experience. I had a pair of trousers that I needed altered. Linda was very kind and helpful. She offered stylistic suggestions that I had not considered. I took her advice and the results are amazing. There is incredible detail in the work she did. It was completed on time. The entire time in her shop she was very pleasant and conversational. Brought in my wedding dress that was 3 sizes too big. Beautiful dress with a lot of detailed lace. Linda did an amazing job bringing in the dress to fit me just right. She spent a lot of time hand stitching the lace pieces back on artistically to fit the new form. Had to bring it in and the train up as well. It took a lot of work but It looked amazing in the end ! Everyone exclaimed I was the most beautiful bride they had ever seen! I owe it to the beautiful dress and linda's skills ! This business is best experienced if you know what to expect. It's a very small building that's incredibly cluttered with articles of clothing and pieces of fabric everywhere you look. I mean... INCREDIBLY cluttered. But thats the environment that the owner chooses to work in and it has no effect on the outstanding work that she does. I recommend this business because of the quality of their work and their very reasonable prices. My suit jacket was altered beautifully and I wore it proudly for my wedding! DO NOT BRING YOUR WEDDING DRESS HERE!!!! We brought my daughters wedding dress here for minor alterations and bustling. She told us there was only one way to bustle (with 5 hooks and eyes at knee height, in plain view) and said bustling at the waist is ridiculous and just not done. Her hooks and eyes were conspicuous and made the dress look cheap. And then she altered the dress too small with no way to rectify as she had cut the fabric, and with one week until the wedding!!! To add insult to injury, she wanted $150 to relinquish the dress! There was no way to remedy this, so we were forced to find another dress at the last minute! I wanted to love this place. Linda owner is a nice lady loves to talk, maybe that's why she doesn't get her items out in a timely manner. I took two articles of clothing in well before Thanksgiving. Over 3 weeks prior. I specified that I need the items before thanksgiving Linda assured me they would be ready Monday 3 days before thanksgiving. I gave her an extra day and went in on Tuesday my items were not ready she assured me they would be ready the next day. I sent my husband Wednesday the next day around 2. She told him to come back at 5 and for sure they would be ready. He went back at 5:30 pm and she had my items in her hand ready to leave to her house and told my husband they would be done by tomorrow which was Thanksgiving. He said oh your open she said no. So that was silly to say. So needless to say my items were not ready until after Thanksgiving. I picked them up and I did tell her I had to buy a whole new outfit for Thanksgiving because the items she had was what I was going to wear. Her response was we'll see now you have a new outfit. Which was not the point and I did say I should get a discount and she said no it wasn't her fault. I paid $75 for her to hem a pants and a dress seems like a bit pricey. Stay away from this place she doesn't know about time management or having items in a timely manner set by her. I won't dare go back. Also she's not very professional, she was spewing garbage about Covid to me when I first went in. Save yourself the disappointment and headache go elsewhere there are 2 other places in SLO that are way better. read more

I have gotten several dresses, a skirt, and now my wedding dress altered by Linda. She is such an easy and kind person to work with, and she knows her fabrics and business. She is very reasonably priced, and my favorite to get alterations done with. She is a very hard worker, but I do try to get my stuff to her early because she does all the alterations herself with no helpers. Still, she got my wedding dress altered within two months time--which is better than many places. My wedding dress got taken in at the waist and bust, hemmed and I requested an outer bustle which blended in very well when unbustled. She worked hard to make my bustle fit the flow and style of my dress so it blended in nicely with the pleats. Couldn't be happier! Thank you Linda for making my dress fit me so well! read more

For 27 years Linda has been altering and repairing garments at this location. I recently took her a pair of shorts that needed a belt loop repaired. Usually that would be no problem, but these shorts are German-made lederhosen, which is goat skin. The leather is thick and dense. She initially broke several needles trying to fix the loop but eventually had a friend with a larger machine sew the loop. She does what it takes to make it right, and I appreciate that. I am writing because my daughter is very upset with the outcome of her wedding dress-she brought her dress here in April 2020-The wedding was scheduled for September 2020 but then cancelled and rescheduled for August 2021 which should have been plenty of time (you'd think?) after my daughter gave her two hard deadlines the dress was still not ready my daughter picked it up unfinished and paid Linda $175 for the work she did do...and now that she has tried it on again it's too short!!! I like the Owner, Linda Huszar a funny red head with a nice smile. Her Shop is a total mess. I took my sewing project to her, she said she could finish it in a week, however it was not ready when promised. When I picked up my sewing project it did not fit properly. Linda saw this and blamed the material. Like it's my fault? I paid for her sewing failure and had to take it somewhere else to re-do. I can not recommend her service. read more

I just dropped off my dress to be altered for a wedding in May. Lost some weight, but before that, the straps where a bad fit and needed to be altered. A few quick pins and a plan to alter in a couple spots around the bra area and I am positive my dress is going to look amazing!! First of all she kept putting off my wife when she would ask how our daughters bridesmaid dress was coming. then when she said the dress was done my wife and daughter went in to see how it fit, it was to tight under the arms the pleats were all askew on one side.( it turns out she forgot to sew in the breast pad on that side) She tried to say it was our daughters body type that was the problem. I dropped 5 things off two months ago. And they have yet been "fixed." They are simple repairs, 3 zipper replacements and two button replacements. Every time I go in to check she has some excuse. I understand we are all busy, but be up front. She tells me they will be done in a week. What do you know they are still not done. Finally I took all my items back and I'm going somewhere else. Linda is great at what she does, very reasonably priced, and such a friendly sweet woman! I had taken a few items to her for a couple years, a bridesmaid dress last year, and then just had her alter my wedding dress. My fittings with her were always a pleasure, she genuinely is interested in her clients, shares stories about her life, and is easy to work with. This lady seems like the hardest working seamstress in town. If I'm ever driving down Higuera at night, many times she's got her light on, working late into the night, even on weekends. I saw some previous comments about her shop being messy, and it is crowded, she has a lot of items in there waiting to be altered, but she will treat you garment with the utmost care and cleanliness. I took three pairs of pants in to get tear mended. She told me it would be a week. I came in three days later than a week, and she told me that there was a power outage for a day, and couldn't get anything done. I gave her another week since I was headed out of town for the thanksgiving holiday. When I came back two pairs were done, but the last still needed some work done, and I left with it unfinished. I've been going to Linda since I moved to the Central Coast 15 years ago. I was new to the area and several people I met referred me to her. Linda has always proven to be professional regardless how busy she is. My clothes have consistently been altered properly. I trusted her with my wedding dress, which speaks volumes if you know me! Yes, she's very busy. Yes, she sometimes gets behind, but lets me know ahead of time if it's going to be longer than a week. Yes, I don't know how she finds everything as her shop is jammed full of clothes she's altering. In the end, all I care for is that I get quality work at a fair price and that I've been treated respectfully. Would I recommend Linda? Absolutely. I am once again looking to have some tailoring done, and reminded of the lousy experience I had several years ago at this business. I took in a 3 piece suit for alterations and not only did it take longer than promised, but the suit was returned without the vest. They took no responsibility for the loss, and instead were argumentative suggesting that I had made a mistake. The shop was a mess ... piles of clothes everywhere ... I don't know how they could even search for my vest. I have never worn the suit again, without a vest, and have a crummy feeling every time I drive by their shop. She lost me as client due to her unprofessionalism. The shop is a total mess. Her turn around time is way over a week (I waited over 3 weeks) and as a result, simple instructions on cuffing/hemming my new (and expensive) cargo pants came back all wrong. She did not follow simple directions and the pants were RUINED to the point that they were NEVER worn and were donated to Goodwill (thanks Linda). To add insult to injury, she charged me, didn't apologize and continued to make excuses. "Wasn't her fault, I should have given her better directions." Are you kidding???? Linda simply cannot take responsibility for her mistakes. As a result, Fitting Image as gained a very happy and satisfied customer and we've never had silly issues like this. Every time I drive by Linda's place, all I can think of is my bad experience there, I'm still disgusted with her for how poorly she handled the situation - that was 5 years ago. She did an amazing job on the hem. The reason I give her 4 stars instead of 5 was that my clothes had pet hair everywhere, which can be a pain to get off. She did have to take my dress pants home to work on over the weekend so I'm not sure if there would be pet hair if the article of clothing stays in the shop. She could improve by using a lint brush or some other devise to remove the pet hair and give it a more polished presentation. She was reasonably priced and very friendly. read more
