She asked my preferences and permission every step of the way, knowing it was a treasured family heirloom. The first dress was a delicate chiffon mother of the bride gown that I initially thought was too tight in the bodice. She further requested a $75 ridiculously high fee to simply hem my linen jacket sleeves. She further demanded an $75 rush order fee to finish my jacket ahead of 2 week promised date. I entered Teresa's shop in despair, clutching idk how many shirts (too many, I know I have a problem...) that fit me like a potato sack. I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but I saw the more recent review here and wanted to chime in. I had a very hard time communicating with Teresa, feel I paid much more than I should have for what I got, and found her very hard to schedule things with. I reached out to her many times over a period of 6 months to finally get an appointment. Most responses take 1-2 weeks from her. Then, I got surprised for my birthday by my husband on the day I was supposed to pick up, I asked her 4+ days in advance if I could change my time and of course didn't hear from her until the actual day of pickup, and she was not flexible at all and made it extremely difficult for seemingly no reason. I won't be working with Teresa again and I think her rating here is inflated so I'm chiming in. I do believe we have good tailors here on the Central Coast- Bella's Atelier is a good place to start for anyone struggling to find a tailor. My experience there was much easier, more professional, and the outcome was actually better on my clothes. read more

I worked with Teresa to alter my full professional wardrobe after I lost weight and shaped up a bit over the past year. I always emphasized buying quality suits, sports coats, and dress slacks but you can't be swimming in them or you just look sloppy. I found t.leigh couture to be timely & perfect for my needs on the multiple times I have needed alterations. I took Teresa a dress I had bought that was strapless as I loved the color and cut, but really wanted straps for. She took some fabric off the bottom of the dress as it was longer than I needed and created straps that had a twist to them that was in the fashion of the details in the bodice. I get compliments each time I wear it & love that I feel more comfortable in it! She has also taken pants and turned them into Capris for me which made them more flattering for me. Looking for alterations. Do yourself a favor and Look elsewhere. Don't be naive like me. I got 4 dresses altered. Prices were average but I went with Teresa because I wanted to support small businesses. She doesn't have a storefront but she travels to your home to do the measurements. If you don't feel comfortable you can always come to her apartment. Her alterations were good but it was her unprofessionalism that I'm rating a 1 star. There were red flags from the very start but I chose to ignore because I was naive. I reached out through yelp and got an instant reply to text her. So I texted her and didn't hear back for a day. I thought that was odd since Teresa had responded so fast on yelp. So a day later I reached back out again through Yelp telling her I'm still interested and that I had texted her. She responds 30mins later on yelp and texts me at the same time. We agree to meet at my place at 10AM on a Saturday. Saturday day comes and its 10. I get a text at 10:03 that she's running behind and will be on her way shortly. Naively I told her to take her time. Big big error on my end. She didn't arrive until past 11. Late for a first time customer is not a good impression. But I get my measurements done and Teresa tells me that she will have them done by Monday after 5pm. Monday comes and I send her a text at noon telling her I'm excited and can't wait to get my dresses back. Teresa responds at 4:30 informing me she's running behind schedule again and can deliver Tuesday before 6:30. I can't do Tuesday so we agree on Wednesday. Both Tuesday and Wednesday passed and it is now Thursday. No response of any kind I reach out again through Yelp. I ask her when I should be expecting my dresses and ask for a better form of communication since texting didn't seem to be working even though thats what Teresa had wanted. She finally responds saying she "thought" she had. We finally rescheduled for Friday after 5:20pm. Well I had dinner plans at 6 so I waited and around 5:45 I text her to reschedule to the weekend. We rescheduled for Saturday at 11am. Saturday comes around and to no surprise she didn't get to my condo until 2pm. And thats after I texted at 12pm asking when I should be expecting her. All in all I'm just grateful to get my dresses back but never going to small businesses like this ever again. I'll pay extra for the professionalism. read more
