The owner seemed annoyed that I would need to try the pants on to pin the hem. There is a small corner with a curtain that you can change in. She pinned one of the pants & told me they would be ready late on Friday. I wasn't able to get back in till Monday. She had trouble finding my pants, then brought them out in a bag. She said she had written down a different day when they would be ready & didn't get them pressed. One pair was hemmed to the right length but the other was still too long. I decided not to take them back. Unfortunately this was not a positive experience & I will keep looking for someone to do alterations.

I was so pleased with the result that I immediately brought in two more pairs of slacks. The whole experience was stress-free, affordable, and done with real attention to detail. For comparison, I took an identical pair of slacks to a different alteration shop in Pismo Beach on the same day. That location charged nearly three times as much, and their anticipated completion date is still a week and a half out--so I can really see the difference in both value and turnaround time. I told him I was looking for an industrial type machine. Jorge took me to show me some industrial machines. This is where we met up with another employee named Don. He was very cheerful and obviously very willing to talk with my daughter and I about what we were looking for. I found an immaculate used home industrial machine that I thought would meet my needs. Don set it up and plugged it in for me to test sew. Jorge and Don also showed me a similar new machine and let me test it out as well. I finally settled on a used Janome 1600P. While this isn't a true industrial machine, it was clearly what I truly needed. I absolutely love this machine! All of the employees and the owner were all extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Once I got to the store, they brought out a machine that wasn't mine- they had swapped the estimate paper for my machine with another and it took them a minute to find my actual machine, which was not even close to ready. The woman 'helping' me, Cindy, just laughed the whole thing off and didn't offer anything to rectify the situation other than a halfhearted apology. She then ignored me to go help another customer instead of finishing up with me first. I asked if they could offer me any sort of discount to compensate for wasting my time, and she offered me a discount on a future purchase (no- I'm not going to reward the store for their mistake by spending MORE money). Customer service aside, she deferred the blame to the technician while also mentioning something about two different prices on the estimate that confused her, so it sounds like this place is not at all organized, and I don't have much confidence that they will return my machine to me in the repaired condition I expect.
