I can't say enough .... excellent job on a very hard upholstery repair. Karen was so fast in getting it back to me. Highly recommend.

A week I asked around Nextdoor for good tailors, since the lady by MBHS retired. A few people…read morementioned Village Center Dry Cleaners in Morro Bay, and their reviews were good so I went and had three things tailored. This is my experience: I usually don't write negative reviews, but I'm so upset by this since it's a relatively expensive dress. I asked for a hem, about 8 inches off. I realized I forgot to ask for the same hem, so I called again asking for a similar thread & something similar to a rolled hem. He said he didn't think see saw a piece with a rolled hem and said that they don't have factory machines so it might look a bit different. Pickup was Wednesday afternoon & I arrived early afternoon but it wasn't finished so I came back Thursday before close. I realized that the hem was much worse than the original and went back and asked if they could make it narrower and do a different stitch. Looking closer, you can see that the hem wasn't done properly so there's a skip. Went in today and he told me yet again that they didn't have the same factory machines. I told him that it's an add on foot and you don't even need the foot, showing a video where they did a narrow hem and folded it over for a nicer look. He told me (even though his machine could do that) his hands couldn't make it more narrow. I understand not having the capabilities to do so but I wish he could've told me before hemming the dress. He told me there's some places in SLO, but I said I'm going back to Harvard, so I'll have to find a place in Boston to redo the hem. He said "good luck" and left, not once offering a partial refund or anything. I've worked in service for 7 years--since 7th grade. I didn't mind that they weren't friendly, but I expected better from an established business. I asked a tailor in Los Osos who stated she could do a rolled hem and she's unfortunately busy today. She also agreed that the hem was much worse than the original. I had two other pieces tailored. They were fine; clearly not the best tailoring but good enough. I was charged $11 more for the pants than quoted (mind you I got them cheap off of Amazon) but I wouldn't have minded if the dress was fine. You can go to Village for tailoring if you want a quick tailor and don't mind much about quality/mastery, but I personally think I could've done this work myself and saved the $83.
