The bbq bacon burger and fries really hit the spot, I saw someone else with a really good looking pizza, I was so focused on getting a burger I didn't even realize they had pizza. They've got some pretty good beers too, the El Hefe was one of the best Hefs I've had in a while and their Golden Glow blonde was a perfect thirst quencher after a long morning of running. The restaurant/brewery itself is pretty big too. Outdoor seating in the front and back, some big tables inside that hold a groups of 8-10 people. And arcade room near the back outdoor seating area. Such a fun place to hangout! I used to go to the smaller CCB which I still love, but this larger spot is great for big groups. There are different seating areas and the beer and food selection is great, I also love that there is an arcade room. I've come here for celebrations, after work outings, or just a quiet Sunday afternoon and it's always fun! Oh man! I fell in love with the beer I got at Central Coast Brewing! I got their coconut Schwarzbier that was simply out of this world! Coconut can easily have too much of a presence in certain things but this was balanced out absolutely perfectly! I simply must try some of their other beer options in future. If the rest are as impressive as the Schwarzbier then this could easily become a favorite brewery of mine in recent times. I love this place! It's located down Higuera street so it's in a quieter part of town and they have a large parking lot. I have been here just to hang out and have a few beers, been here for a party, come for a meal, and even came to play pool in their back game room. BACKGROUND We decided after a few months of Newsom confinement, that we needed to get out of town. We camped in the area and came to this brew pub for dinner and drinks. DRINKS - 4/5 We both got beers, wife got dark beer while I got a lighter beer. As we didn't know what to order and wanted to know what they recommended, the waiter recommended two brews which we both enjoyed. I can't recall exactly what I ordered, but I ordered from their many pilsner choices and the waiter chose well for me. FOOD - 2/5 We were in a steak / beef mood and so we ordered two things to split. Steak tacos and steak salad. They looked delicious when they brought it out, but the steak was cold and tough. Since we ate the salad first, we were surprised that the steak was cold...and tough. While I know that some places serve cold steak on salads, we were a bit aghast that the taco meat was cold. I don't know if they just simply took some of the cold tough steak from the salad and dished it on the tacos, but it sure did taste like it. We were so hungry though that we ate it nonetheless, but we weren't happy after we left. SERVICE - 5/5 We were sat in on part of the patio on the high stools/counter area, but my wife wasn't very comfy (she's short), so we asked the server if we could move to the chairs in front of the restaurant. He was more than accomodating and moved us with no fuss. He was also very attentive. We should've let him know about the cold tough steak, but that would've meant we would've had to have both meals replaced---and we were just happy to have food and ate about ¼ of it by the time he came back to check on us. RETURN VISIT? Hmmmm tough call. If we were in the area, we'd come back for the drinks but definitely not for the food. Never had a taco with cold, tough meat. read more

The drive from San Diego to the Bay Area was long, even on a Sunday. So I was eager to stop off roughly halfway to enjoy a nice lunch with the wife. Central Coast was a good choice, with lots of room, plenty of alcoholic options (some of which were appropriately take-out, given that I was driving), and you can't say the place isn't transparent - I think you can see every step of the brewing process from where you sit. Only complaint is the lack of veggie/fish options - the veggie tacos were fine enough, but I was really in the mood for an ultimate burger. I was excited coming in from out of town with a group, we like to try local breweries and like to drink local stuff. Beer was good, I had the nitro stout (okay nothing amazing) and the 2x hazy IPA which was very, very good. The problem was the service. Not sure who the two guys pouring were but wow did they dampen the mood. They were not friendly and not happy to be working there. Made it clear that we were not welcomed. They were just very cold, unfriendly and impatient with us. Also, we tried asking them about local places, beers, food, etc. but it was clear they were not there to make friends. We had our beers and some food and left. We and our group of friends won't be buying this beer or recommending this spot to anyone.
