Horrible experience! Recently purchased my home and had not had a chance to set up service with propane. That part is my fault! Came home on a Friday evening and found this sign on my door knob. The propane was disconnected and a lock was installed in the tank. My side yard gate was open and the tank enclosure gate was also left wide open. I spent 3 hours in the phone on an emergency basis to get someone to come out and got no where. Other than the lovely 3 customer service agents apologizing! They reached out to the local manager on duty for emergency services and he did not answer his phone. Mind you this situation violated California laws in 3 ways: 1. They have to give you a written notice 48 hours to 15 days in advance before disconnecting power. No notice at all! 2. My husband is disabled which is filed with the board of public utilities. This makes it illegal to shut off services. 3. This is our sole source of heat. It is winter time and getting down to freezing temperatures at night. We also have two small kids. There is a moratorium during winter that furthermore makes it illegal to shut off heating services in winter. End result: 1. I hooked up my bbq propane so I could get hot water to bath ourselves. 2. I had my entire family squeezed into one room with an electric space heater for the night. 3. I called a local propane company who is coming out tomorrow to switch out all my services! read more

Superior Plus / Central Coast Propane has been my supplier for the last ten years. We purchased our own 500 gal tank when we moved here so we would have the option to switch propane suppliers if we wanted to in the future. We chose (what is now) Superior Plus because they didn't dance around on pricing like the other propane suppliers we checked with. The other guys wouldn't give a straight answer past "it depends." I recently checked again on local pricing and Superior again had the best price, so I ordered our annual fill-up. Lo and behold, one day after the delivery I received an email from Superior offering a special summer discount on propane - at about half price! I called to protest about the timing and the nice lady at Superior agreed with me. She needed to check with her supervisor but everything was eventually approved - my shipment was re-priced at the summer discount price. Fantastic! I want to thank the nice folks at Central Coast / Superior Plus for great customer service over the years, and willingness to help out a long time customer. I highly recommend them. read more

Not only did it take a week (in this cold snap) to refill our EMPTY tank, but then they put a lock on my tank so we couldn't use the fuel they charged us for. Nearly a week with space heaters and no hot water. Would never recommend. read more

Terrible service called them when my tank was at 20% it still took them a long time to come back and fill my tank was at 5% just so they can get more money in their pocket and charge you more especially when I'm on the automatic refill when they come out they're supposed to check the tank apparently they don't very unhappy with their service read more

Nope. Don't use this company if you have another option. They made me pay $300 for a system inspection (during which I told them my forced air unit doesn't work) and I don't use more propane in the winter as a result of that. After a few years of them only filling my tank in winter months (the most expensive months) I told them I only wanted my tank to be filled during the summer when it's cheap. They filled my tank once in June and immediately switched me back to winter fill. When I contacted the company and confronted them about filling my tank only during the most expensive winter months I was told "we have you on a winter heavy use plan..." I asked how that was possible considering they inspected my house at a cost of $300 and determined (and were told by me) that the Forced Air Unit wasn't functioning and I have to heat my home with a wood burning stove. I had to change my plan to "will call" because they only want to deliver when they can charge the highest rate. I am completely disgusted by this company. I wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy. 100% untrustworthy company. read more

Getting rid of this company! Every single time we called they are so extremely rude. When we call to request Fills and we ask when the estimated delivery will be they tell you they can't give us that information because they don't have the route details. They go on to tell me that if I would like to pay an emergency fee and pay the extra $200 to get an estimated date and time then they can do that. We have given them so many chances and every time we call they are just as rude. Will never recommend this company! read more

I have been a customer for a few years, since the former owner of my home used them. The last 2 years the customer service has been dismal. Now, 2 days before Christmas, when we are expecting temps in the 20s, and after paying almost $800 in advance to fill out tank, I keep getting promises of a tank fill, then the date changes. Kristin told me Wednesday, no show. Called emergency line last night, Cliff (who's much nicer) promised me today / Thursday for sure & didn't know why no one came Wed. This am Kristin calls me to say now it'll be tomorrow - the Friday before Xmas - laughs at me and told me I should've called earlier. I've been in Texas more than home dealing with sick parents, but I called the minute I got back into town and got no response. Called again - zip. Messages with their service yield no response. I finally get Kristin on phone first thing Monday and have been repeatedly *laughed* at by her. Today she laughed & said ''merry Christmas' and HUNG UP on me. I'm so upset - we are not used to this propane gag, this is HORRIBLE. I've had enough upset this year without having to be in tears wondering if I need to leave my home over the holidays so we don't freeze to death. We also run a business and would be OUT Of business if we acted in this manner. UPDATE: we got new service - somehow a brand new co was able to crane out the old one, put a new one in, then a second truck came to fill us - all on Dec 23 as an urgent matter. When the tech unhooked the old one, he confirmed it was LEAKING. We had suspected this and requested it be checked & were told it 'definitely wasn't leaking'. Very disheartening that a company would conduct themselves in such a manner. read more

I am completely dismayed and deeply concerned that I just got completely conned, then hung to dry by customer service AND the supervisor of this local company. My husband was told that our tank did not qualify for a "minimum fill-up" which is a 50%-70% propane fill, because our tank is too small at 125 gallons. They quoted us at $562.38 (which was a bit steep for us) and said they'd drop the rental fee due of $95, which would bring our quote down to around $495. Flash forward to a week later when we got a bill on our door handle for $622 for a *200 gallon tank* and for 166 gallons they filled up, PLUS the rental fee they originally stayed they waved, bringing the bill up to a whopping $717. They also asked us "why we didn't just get the minimum tank fill up?" Wow, because you told us we didn't qualify for it...My husband is a journalist and recorded the details of the quote in a notebook. So, we called to dispute the bill, confident we'd get it figured out, and THEY DENIED EVERYTHING. They said "no one would ever mis-quote you on your tank size. No one would ever misquote you on your bill by that much, and 'no one' would ever tell you they'll drop your rental fee." I'm SO sad and angry that a local company could be this dis-organized and unwilling to admit their mistakes. A charge of this magnitude should be agreed upon in writing and signed by us in my opinion and we have nothing to show for but a quote phone call they're denying all the details of, and nothing but a receipt for very surprising charges in our door. For the 1st time since moving out here, I actually ran out of propane. It's freezing in the middle winter (of course slushy snow fell in Paso yesterday for the 1st time in???) so my heater was a no go! :( I called them 1st thing in the AM, and someone was here within 2 hours (if that long) to check for leaks, provide enough propane to hold me until my scheduled delivery. He re-lit my stove & heater, checked for leaks within the lines & made sure I was good to go before leaving. I don't normally write reviews, but the fact that I was able to get this resolved within a couple of hours of calling, I'm a happy girl! :) read more

They had made a mistake delivering to me a second time & I was stuck with an extra $400 bill on top of the $700 something I just paid to get my tank partially filled. When I stressed to the receptionist that I couldn't pay it she gave me an extra month to pay, which still wasn't feasible for me. The manager Brent reached out to me & we came to an agreement about the situation. He was friendly & helpful. read more

We have been faithful customers of CCP for over 18 years. Recently I phoned to have a specific amount (75 gallons) of propane put into my tank. The CCP employee quoted me $3.49 a gallon plus an additional .20 per gallon because my request was "off route", for a total of $3.69 a gallon. Contrary to the above, CCP came by a week later and delivered 125 gallons at $3.999 a gallon. Obvious errors in volume and price. I phoned CCP to address the issue, multiple times. No one would speak to me about it, basically passing blame and saying "we have a minimum fill requirement of 125 gallons. This was not addressed beforehand, only after the tank had been filled and it's too late to change things. After two weeks or so, I finally was "allowed" to speak to the owner, Brent. He had nothing to say about the matter, accepted no responsibility or accountability for the issue, and spoke in a very condescending tone. He claims his clerks told me in advance, which of course is a cover story. You can see by other reviews this is not the first time they have used this "bait and switch" tactic with the supposed "minimum fill of 125 gallons" without prior consent by the consumer. It is a shame that CCP and its owner does not stand by their credo of "Our goal is complete customer satisfaction". Brent will defend his employees actions as long as he puts money in the bank, customers be damned. read more

I'm so happy with the service. They answered quickly. And were able to get me gas on the exact same day! Thankfully since we had no gas since Amerigas were suppose to be there after two weeks and a phone call still no show up I knew I had to get a new service. I REALLY screwed up and drilled a fence post hole through my gas line. I'm fairly new to propane and Central Coast Propane for that matter. After I shut off the gas (and did some laundry ) I called these folks. ' He showed up and had it fixed in LESS THAN 3 HOURS. It wasnt only that I drilled my pipe.. Oh no, I also had clogged the line with debriets! The guys hung in there and figured out how to fix it. I would recomend Central Coast Propane over ANY of the other gas providers. They have not forgoten about good old customer service. I only gave five stars because there werent 10! thanks guys! Youre the best! read more

This review is in regards to the customer service. I left three messages for the foreman, Cliff, who is supposedly in charge of getting propane tanks filled. In my messages I left my number and what I wanted to find out, if I could get 50 gallons filled in my tank because I was moving and didn't want to get the tank filled all the way. Cliff did return two of my messages, unfortunately both were left before 8am, while I was driving to work. The second message he left me was not only at 7:30am, but on a Saturday as well! When I tried to return his call I got their emergency answering service, because they are closed on Saturdays! Without returning the message I left with the answering service on Saturday, or ever letting me know whether it was even possible to just get 50 gallons filled, someone came out and filled my tank all the way after the weekend. Obviously disappointed by the poor communication and the large bill, I called central coast propane yet again, hoping to get some answers. The nice lady in the office commiserated, suggested maybe the boss could get a credit on the account, and transferred me over. I left a voicemail. Two days later, I left another one. If you think I got a call back, you must not have read this whole review. Edit in response: Brent, I appreciate that it sounds like you guys had a meeting to discuss better ways to communicate with your customers. However, it would have been nice to get a return phone call from one of the two messages I left for Cliffs boss, you I presume? That would have been a little more personal than a response to this yelp review. It also looks like you didn't clearly read my review, so I'll just quickly reiterate the details. 1. No staff member informed me it would not be possible to get 50 gallons filled. This was why I was forwarded to Cliff's answering machine three times. 2. Cliff returned two of my calls, both before typical business hours(8 am) and did not answer my question in his voicemails, or even seem to understand what I was trying to find out. 3. I never requested a delivery, all I wanted was to speak to someone and get an answer to my question. 4. As far as the will call notice: I was a tenant on a property with multiple propane tanks, which I had to explain to the office ladies each time I called, as well as when I asked to be put on will call in the first place. A simple phone call would have cleared up any questions. The service I received was poorly provided based off assumptions instead of direct communication. It seems like from your response to my review Brent, you believe your employees did everything they were supposed to do. I hope that your current and future customers receive better communication and customer service than I did. read more

Very poor communication leaves me feeling like I've been misled. It was very disappointing to talk to the office multiple times and be told different information each time. I called to schedule my first fill up and was quoted at $562, including a mandatory rental fee of $95. I asked if I could fill up only a partial tank and they told me I had to fill up the whole tank because it was too small for a partial fill. They failed to tell me that there was indeed an option for a minimum fill. So I told them to fill it and they said they would get right out to do it. After a week of no fill I called to see why there hadn't been a delivery and was told it could take up to two weeks. I said I was not informed of this and my quote was based on a certain percentage so now it was going to be higher. I was told there must've been a miscommunication and that they would waive the $95 rental fee. I said I want to make sure there's good communication so we're on the same page. The reply was, "I thought you would be happy that we took the rental fee off and your total is now under $500." When I got the delivery, the total was $622. When I called to try to clear things up, I was told that if I wanted less I should've ordered a minimum fill up. I said I was told a partial fill up was not an option and that I had to fill the whole tank. I was told that no one ever said that, also that now the rental fee was back on the bill putting the total to $718! I'm being charged over $200 more than what was agreed upon. There's very poor and rude communication from the office and awful customer service. I feel taken advantage of this seems to be a pattern with this business based on reading other reviews. read more

I have been a customer of Central Coast Propane for 8 years and have always received excellent customer service from their very experienced and helpful staff. I have bought thousands of gallons of propane over the years and have experienced the propane price cycles, sometimes it hurts....usually during the winter (every winter) that's how it is everywhere in the United States. Central Coast Propane does not set the propane prices, the industry does, believe me....I've researched it! I always do my due diligence to find the best bargain with the most value for anything that I purchase and when it comes to LPG, Central Coast Propane wins every time. The owners and crew at Central Coast Propane are Awesome! They have the knowledge, experience, fairness and professionalism but most importantly .....they have Integrity. I highly recommend them. They have done an excellent job of maintaining my tank, answering any questions or concerns that I may have, and in giving me the knowledge of how to safely use and handle LPG. I read the earlier reviews on here and the one thing in life that I know is true, you can't please everyone.
