Old worn down family restaurant with great service. The food is limited on the dinner menu to a small selections of steak, grilled chicken, pork chops ect. A ribeye meal with a baked potato, salad, toast, and a drink was 22$. The steak is obviously a lower cut of meat but was well seasoned, and for the price you can't get much better.

If your a meat and potatoes kind of guy/lady then this is your go to place in Jackson. Hand cut meat, fast service it only takes as long as it takes to cook your steak how you like it. I got the 12 oz ribeye and left mushrooms and onions and potatoes on my plate. Thought I wasn't gonna finish my steak but I did. I already ate half of My salad before taking the picture. Great hole in the wall kinda place. Friendly too. Cooked right before your eyes if you sit at the bar like I did.

I have lived in many towns and cities in my life, and one of the consistencies of these experiences has been that locally owned restaurants quite often outdo the big chains in terms of quality of food and service. The Dixie Castle is no exception. This diner is as no-frills as it gets, and the food is just down-home good. They are open for lunch from 11 to 2, and for supper from 5 to 9. They have the typical range of diner menu items, including very fine cheeseburgers (and crinkle-cut fries, my favorite). But their plate lunches are excellent (best cornbread ever)! At night they have what they long ago became known for - steaks, wonderful steaks. Again, nothing fancy, here, just a simple dinner salad, steak, baked potato or fries, and a slice of Texas toast. But, oh, those steaks - perfectly seasoned and perfectly prepared! And all brought to you by waitresses who are as friendly as you'd find anywhere. Highly recommended!

It's been a while since I've been here, but the food was always good. The service was good, too. I have no complaints.

Been eating here for years when I come through Jackson. Funny little place that you can get a decent steak cheap.

The restaurant has a nice outdoor patio that would be great for an afternoon meal or summertime dinner. Inside, the restaurant is spacious and has a separate bar area for adult fun. In the dining room, you also have a view of the pizza oven. We ordered garlic knots and cheese bread. The garlic knots were smothered in Parmesan cheese and came with marinara sauce. The cheese bread was deliciously made with the same sourdough bread as the pizza crust. It also came with three dipping sauces -- garlic olive oil, pesto, and marinara. The pizza was amazing with the sourdough base. We ordered a large pepperoni to share, a chicken Parmesan calzone, and a ribeye wrap. All three were so yummy and the portions were large enough for us to take leftovers with us. The service was prompt and friendly. When drinks ran out, they refilled them quickly. In total, we spent around $100 for the four of us, which is about average for a night out with full meals, appetizers, and a couple of beers. Would definitely come back the next time we drive through Jackson, TN.
