Apparently, they operate almost entirely via text, which seems to be a post-COVID communication adaptation. I explained the situation via text with "Taylor"--though to this day, I'm still not sure if Taylor is a real person or just the automotive equivalent of Siri. I let him know we were only in town for a short time and asked if they could get us in ASAP. The response was quick and honest: "We don't do ASAP." Fair enough. That said, they did manage to get the vehicle in within 24 hours, which all things considered, was pretty ASAP. Unfortunately, the part we needed wasn't available through their usual sources. Fortunately, we sourced it ourselves through our dealer and had it overnighted. When it comes to car repairs, the old saying goes: You can have it good, cheap, or fast--pick two. Somehow, Taylor and the Hoffman's team managed to deliver all three. They got us in as fast as realistically possible, the work was solid (as evidenced by the fact that I'm typing this 1,000 miles later, well on our way back to Reno, NV), and the final bill came in nearly 15% under the original quote. That's a rare trifecta. Dealing with Hoffman's does come with a few quirks, but in the end, they're a small price to pay for honest, competent work--especially when you're far from home and just trying to get back on the road.

Main Line Auto gave me a quote of $1200 to do all the undercarriage work AND the hard to reach sensor and guaranteed me they'd get the check engine light off. Although I did end up trading my car in for a newer vehicle a year later, I'm grateful to Main Line for being one honest business out there. Not ripping people off and having the integrity to stand behind one's work is rare these days.

Took a trip here with Clarkson University's car club and spent most of the day there, and it was just a blast; really great, positive atmosphere. Also a very knowledgeable and honest staff, I highly recommend going here for any tuning needs you have. It doesn't get better than a garage with smart AND honest workers. They don't care if you drive a Civic (like I do) or a WRX or a Prius. They'll make sure everybody is happy at the end of the day. Like I said, they're just there to have a good time and honestly just want to make your care more enjoyable for you. They really get it, and just understand that every car can be loved in different ways.
