So when it comes to the white line he does it thick and i ask for it to be thinner and he barely thins it out. It's late and I'm in a rush so i deal with it. The chairs were comfortable and the massage features were probably the best that I have experienced in all of the salons in all of the states that I've been in. This was the worst salon experience! My teen showed me her bloody fingers after a nail dip treatment and I was horrified!! she didn't know she could tell me she was bleeding. She sat through 45 minutes of torture. One hour later she has 3 nails still bleeding! The manager apologized, put some antibiotic ointment on her fingers and then still tried to make me pay for her service! I refused and then later realized that she overcharged me for a service I didn't receive to make up the difference. The man doing my teen's nails kept saying sorry to her - he knew he was cutting her up! I am calling the health department and any other regulatory agency I can to visit this establishment. This is one of my favorite "budget, no frills" nail salons on the east side of Columbus. I typically just get a gel polish, $31 plus tip, so not crazy. They are super speedy with walk ins and the quality of work is great. I've had gels last 4 weeks without a chip! If you're looking for a serene/spa day atmosphere, this isn't the place for you. Long time ago I had gone here a few times. It appeared back then to be more of an assembly line mentality. The nail technicians were very professional then but not friendly to anyone. So at that time I stopped going. However, Fast forward you now. I was in a hurry a few months ago and raced in to get my nails done. The young man who greeted me at the desk was very friendly professional and kept the place running smoothly. I had Van give me a manicure which was really good. I've come back here over the last few months and Tracy has done a remarkable job on my dip manicures each time. The young man gave me a card with the ladies named that I've had so I could make an appointment with them in the future. I've had great work done with both Van and Tracy. They're very friendly. Work stuff got in the way and I stopped going for a while... not because I went someone else, I just wasn't getting pedicures. Fast forward to December 31st. I went into Central Nails as a happy new year treat and birthday event for the Mister. Even after a couple of years, the staff remember us and were very friendly. After reading all the good reviews I thought I would give them a try since they were close from work and I needed mani done ASAP. They were very flexible with time and I really like that. I went in and sat down after 10mins wait. The nail tech buffed my nails but then went right to mani without shaping off my cuticles. Also the gel was not close to my cuticle at all, created a pretty good gap on each nail and the sides. Esthetically speaking my nails looked terrible. I'm bummed to have to downgrade my review a little bit, but I feel like I had to give a few updates: +The pedicures are still awesome! Seriously, I've never had a less than great experience here. +The staff are all super friendly and helpful. I love all the wonderful ladies who do the pedis! +The price is a little higher than in my original review (but that was 5 years ago), but I can still walk out only spending $30-35--depending on if I'm feeling sugar-scrubby that day. +They take appointments, and they can almost always take one in the same day! -The shop is a little bit rundown after all these years of giving amazing pedicures. The massage chairs are getting kinda janky, and everything just looks more worn and cluttered. The wear and tear definitely isn't enough to keep me away, but I just didn't want people coming here expecting luxury. Don't get me wrong, it's still very clean and they do fantastic manis and pedis! I recently got my nails done at this salon and was very upset with the service provided. This was my second time at Central Nails. The first time I got a set of acrylic nails for a reasonable price which turned out pretty good overall. This time, I got a set of dip nails which were wayyy overpriced (more than the acrylics). Not only did they over charge me, I also didn't receive the shape or color that I asked for. The station was very unsanitary and the man that did my nails used his own fingernails to try and take off my old acrylics. It was quite painful as he was filing them down and he was way too rough with my hands. My nails are uneven and crooked. Most definitely not worth $80!!! I went here today after being fed up with Lush Nail Bar. All I can say is WOW!! They did a GREAT job! My pedicure was done by Lynn and my nails by Ben. Lynn was quiet but thorough. Without my even having to ask, she immediately began fixing all of the problems that developed due to the Lush staff not doing a great job. (Problems I've never had before either. Ingrown nail, callous). Lynn spent the first 30 minutes doing what should have been PREVENTED in the first place then she spent another 30 giving me a great massage. Ben was also quiet but attentive. He knew the name of each guest who entered. He joked with some, was serious with others. When I told him what I wanted he said he didn't know if he could do it but would try. He did a great job! I will definitely be back!! Only note is to take cash for tips. They don't put it on your card. I think another review mentioned that but I forgot to go to the atm before my appointment. read more

They know when to converse with you and when they can chat with their friends working along side them. They work efficiently, but not too fast as to feel like you're rushed. The chairs are nice and the whole shop has nice calm wood tones. Bryant M. introduced me to Central Nails and I know I'll be back. I haven't had such a good pedicure since my old girl moved out of state 3 years ago! Plus, this pedi was 100,000 times better than the one I got at the Aveda Institute, which when compared to Central was a complete waste of my $25. For $2 more I got a fantastic pedi job done by professionals! It's a good idea to make an appointment if more than one person is going at a time because they were pretty busy at 4:30 on a Thursday. Had a great experience here over the weekend. My friend and I were nearby and we both wanted mani-pedis. After a short wait, Central Nails took good care of us on a busy Saturday. Everyone in the shop is friendly but not overly friendly, and $44 (before tip) for both services is a great deal. Even better, my manicure that I was hesitant to bother getting - my skin is oily and polish often just peels off my fingers - still hasn't started to peel or chip like it always does. They also put labels on the OPI bottles that tell you what polishes come from special color collections, when applicable. Will be going back regularly! read more

Frustrated this go around. I normally go here and have had each of the technicians at least once. The younger gentleman who works there is absolutely awesome And he was quick, only took about 45 for a soak off and new dip set. My dip nails lasted 5-6 weeks! I was in desperate need of a new set so I did a walk in and got a lady who not only took 2+ hours but they are extremely thick, the shape is not what I wanted, polish is missing on some of my nails, there was polish on my skin and she really hurt my fingers when she was working. I definitely could have bought all the supplies myself and did A better job. Another thing I did not like was them soaking my entire hands in acetone. it dries my hands out so bad and drive me bonkers. I was too nice to say anything at the time but the more I look at them I'm disappointed I spent $60 and really should get a new set but I don't want to sit in the chair for another hour or 3 and spend more money. hoping they last a few weeks. read more
